Drag ported cylinders. Casting chipped on extra intake port
Dinner replied to J-Madd's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Maybe it's just me, but 60Psi is way to low IMO. You should re-ring it at least or something. -
At least there isn't a lot of damage  The only way you are going to know how to handle your shee in certain conditions is go out and RIDE!!

I'm pretty sure it is a breather hose. It connects into the "T" that is running throught the Rad over flow line.

I used to have DG Pipes, and then i got a set of Pro Circuits used. The power gain from DG's to Pro Circuits was awesome, a lot more pull everywhere, especially in mid and top when they hit. I have not been able to try FMF's, Toomey'r or anything else, but i love my pro circuits. And i'm not even ported yet  .

I'll try to get over to the shop and have a look at it today.

You said its leaking where the shift shaft comes out of the cases? So why would you need to remove your clutch cover? All you need to do is drain the oil, remove stator cover, and remove the old seal, then put on the new one. I replaced mine not to long ago(forget how much, it was cheap for the seal though). All i did was take a scriber, pull out the old seal, oil the new one, slide it on, and then take a socket big enough to fit over the shaft, and hit that gently to seal the seal. Hope this helps  Dinner

It seems to be leaking a bit of oil from behind there. Is there a gasket behind it? Dinner

Does it already have any sorts of mods? If you are planning on getting it ported, bigger carbs...you better be getting good pipes for it. For break in, you can run your fuel/oil ratio lower than you would for normal riding, say 32:1, 28:1 just to help lube everything. Some people will say go out and ride it like you stole it, some will say go out and run it through heat cycles, take it through the gears up and down slowly, gradually giving it more and more throttle over time. This is how i did my break in and my bike is still running strong. The shift star mod allows you to shift your Banshee a lot smoother than what they are stock. And I'm pretty sure you will be good to use your aftermarket parts during break in. Just make sure you break it in good and seat the rings  Hope this helps a little, but other HQ'rs will chip in as well. Dinner

Have you tried pulling the choke out? What do the plugs look like? What are your mods? -
Sounds like a great idea Red  Would be nice to have something to follow with pictures and good details instead of going in blind

How can we not care about the 07 Banshee? It's the... "God of all quads, and we must worship only the Banshee God, and write about it in our sigs while spelling everything wrong."... Night :yelrotflmao: Dinner

 We are hoping to get out there in the spring  Dinner

So the last little while, probably ever since the winter has started, my compression just didn't seem to be as good as it once was. It would take more kicks to start, etc. When i painted my cylinders and head back in the summer i remember my domes being all scratched up, nicked, and a little whole in each dome. All the nicks, etc were from the old top-end that was in there, so i new what those were from. Not to long ago i purchased a Used Stock Head from a fellow HQ'r  and i finally got around to switching them today. Once getting everything torqued down, i pushed on the kicker with just my hand, and there is a lot more compression there than before. So i'm quite excited about that  So now i just need to attach all the hoses, re-jet for the colder weather, and take her out for a rip. I was hoping it wasn't my top-end just because i had that done not too long ago, and my cylinder walls are still shiney with a little bit of carbon built up on top of the pistons  So once i get everything put together i'm going to take a compression test and see what it is at. I'm just happy that i don't have to buy new top-end stuff right now, and i can just spend $20 on a Cylinder Head  Moral Is: It doesnt hurt to check your Cylinder Head everynow and then, and replacing if need be :yelrotflmao: And i have a question, what is that white thing under your front sprocket? Thanks Dinner

We are hopefully still going in April. My friend that is planing it is building a new project trike(250R) so he says money might be tight. I'm really hoping to get out there sometime next year, hopefully a day when some of you fellow HQ'rs are out there  What are the rules on Db levels? And we'll probably be trailering our toys down, and some in the bed of trucks, lol. Thanks  Dinner

Very SWEET Rev Fresh!! I want to see some videos of you walking that thing  Are you going to mod it out at all? If it's a good price, BUY IT! 440's are fast little things, they'll beat 600's, etc. And they are so easy to throw around, you would love it.

Glad to hear she is doing ok, have a good holiday with your family

I run Dirt Devils, and i ride mostly gravel pits with the occasional trail. They work great for me, good hook up, good clearence for the trails. Yes they are a little heavier(I have 22") so they will be a little harder to pull, but no biggy.
-
I only have one done right now, got it for my 17th b-day  And i used lotion on mine, and it still looks pretty good. Ovbiously it wont be the EXACT same as when you get it done, because of the way it heals into your skin, etc, but anyways, here is mine: April, morning after: Now:

I think that Blue looks pretty good  Either that exact colour or a little darker even  Dinner

haha, thats funny. Me and my friends are buying a bus for this winter. Going to separate it in the middle. The back half is going to be for the sleds to sit in, and front half is living quarters. Going to make the back a big drop down door so you can drive the sleds right up into the bus  Going to be using it for going up north

You could cut the springs a little bit at a time until you get the softness you want.

I am running a set of 22" Dirt Devils, they work great in the trails, and great in the gravel/sand pits. I have only had them since the summer, but i'm sure they will work great in the snow
