Removing spark arrestors from stock pipes.
Dinner replied to jaredvh's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
The spark arrestors in the stock pipes are located at the front of the silencer. Only way you could remove them would to cut the silencer apart, remove them, then weld it back together. The pieces you removed are just the end tips. -
Hope everything goes good and you and your family are safe

my truck is shaking between the speeds of 55 and 65?
Dinner replied to peterlocal22's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Sure will, lol Frick even a lose nut on the pinion yoke will cause problems as simple as vibration...or the axle will lock up -

They shouldn't, no. But I've seen some come into work that have low mileage on them, and a weight has fallen off causing it to be thrown off. Like it is probably mostly your tires, I was just throwing the idea around to have your drive shaft balanced too. But yes 50,000 miles in a pick up, the drive shaft shouldn't be off balance. And i'm not too sure on the cost, I'm in the shop section of our store, not the driveline shop, lol. -

If you wanted, it would be less expensive to get your old one balanced. They should balance, adjust, clean, balance again and then re-paint it. -

And if it's not your tires, could be your drive-shaft as well. -
My mods are... Pro Circuit Pipes and Silencers Boyesen Reeds and Ported Stock Cages K&N Filter W/O Lid Small Clean Up Port (nothing drastic since I did it myself, and yes it did help, lol) And I think that is about it for performance parts....oh im bored out to 364 cc as well, lol Right now I am running 14/40 gearing, 20" tires and whatever jetting. Even with the stuff I have now (nothing at all really for performance) I am running anywhere from 110km/h to maybe 130km/h. I havn't gone out and clocked her yet so i'm not 100%. And I would have to agree with the others...with the mods you have, you would have to be going down a huge ass hill, and even then your motor would rev so high it would blow up. You would also have to be running like 18/34 gearing to reach that speed, and with your motor, it wouldn't even be able to pull 4th...

mm Ingersoll Rand...that is the impact I have coming right now..it was on backorder Has 650 ft lbs forward, 750 reverse...and then if you hold it on a bolt and push somewhat hard, it will kick its self up to 1000ft lbs reverse to take nuts off. So hopefully it treats me well. But yes that set up will work good for you, especially if you are just using it for your banshee's or even your own cars. Then later down the road if you ever wanted to upgrade, you could get a larger tank/larger gun. Just remember to add some oil before each use to the gun, this will help keep it together for much longer. And being as nuts on banshee's, etc are not really over 325ftlbs, that little 1/2 will work good. Just remember to get some female adapters, teflon(or some sort of sealant to seal the female adapter into the gun) and an air hose, lol. And as you said you arn't removing large truck tires, or things like that. I'm sure you will like the purchase, good luck!

I would be interested Jamey...would a MO work for you?

Mmm I think I may go stock jugs with a good port right now. To be honest I really didn't think much of the extra parts that you should run with the cubs. I don't really have the money right now to afford all of that, lol. I also have to pay for truck mods as well, so the cubs can wait, lol. Thanks for builder though  Dinner

I agree Dave, thank you.....and i care about your times  I don't run drag or anything like that...mostly cause well no where around me would do that legally, lol and I love to ride roads, fields and hills! Thanks for all those names good sir. I will be starting to look around some more the next little while and see how things go. And it would be kinda better for me to send away to Michigan being as you fellas are close to me. Yea I don't really do too much trails anymore, and even if i do go trail riding..they arn't like hard core twists and what not. What do dune/play ports go for roughly, I'm guessing 300ish? (just wondering, lol ill obviously get a better idea once i start calling around)

Geez I leave for one night and my topic gains about 30 posts  I have been talking to Jeff a bit, deciding that cubs aren't the best choice for me. So i've decided that I will send my stock jugs away to get done..the thing is I want a really hard pulling, kick ass play/dune port...cause im bored with my bike right now, lol. Soo fellas, I know there are a few builders out there like Jeff, Kevin, "Rocketboy", and R&B Racing. Is turn around time fairly good right now being as it is getting to fall/winter? I would really like to hear from everyone that has had a play/dune port done, by any builder, thanks!! Dinner

It's all good, at least I came here first instead of going out and buying them  I think I may send my cylinders off sometime soon, or whenever companies are less busy, get some larger carbs, maybe a cool head and go from there. I have another stock timing plate that I could install..so I think i might just drill it out some and see how it goes. Thanks guys  Free sigs for you two :yelrotflmao:

And your opinion is appreciated! Is there a difference between straight dune port, and a dune/play port? And what size carbs would be alright to run with that. Like even right now with my clean up port, and my stock carbs i can run them dry
-
Sounds like it Dave...like I would like to have that power, but from hearing from you fellas it might not be the best choice for me...right now. And as I said to bigboy...a good dune port would treat me well wouldn't it?

I ride a lot of gravel pits, hills and mostly roads/open fields. I don't do much trail riding anymore at all. I was thinking of trying out whatever cubs that use the stock size crank, and then i would get the need pistons/rings with them. I understand what you are saying, I would basically need to re-build my motor just so i don't have the "my engine blew up with stock components" topic started later on,lol. Would it be a better choice(for my bike and style of riding) to get a really good dune port on my stockers? That way I can at least have some money for carbs and all that fun stuff to go along with the dune port? All feedback is welcome

Hey guys, I have been throwing around the idea of getting some cheetah cubs the last little while and I've decided that I'm going to get the highest cc cubs, that still use the stock crank. I sent Jeff an email asking him a few questions so hopefully he gets back to me as well between is busy time. Questions are: I'm assuming I will notice a power upgrade from my stock cylinders? What is the stock port work like on the cubs (dune, drag)? Is it alright to run my stock head, for now, until i get a Cool Head or something? What size carbs would you recommend using for this set up(would purchase those from Jeff as well)? And yea that is about it,lol Thanks Dinner

That is pretty shitty! Hopefully he helps you pay for the damages, I would be pretty pissed off if one of my friends did that and they didn't help pay, but that IMO,lol Well on a bike, there is nothing to the side of you, just air..If you put your arm down on a bike its easy to notice. On a quad however you have the rear fenders, front fenders, whatever else in the way and some people would think you just have you arm resting down. At least when you have your fist up, like 90 degrees...most people behind will see that arm up in the air and should wonder why you have it in the air..and will probably slow down/stop being, beside you....that just my thought

That sounds like a crummy night. At least you didn't hurt yourself more than you did! Pretty nice cut on the shoulder
-
I couldn't agree more....they have always had informative posts, and obviously know their shit
-
Oh gotcha  So basically, we should give up and let his superiority rule over? At least that is what I'm thinking and I don't even know what the hell is going on
-
I'm confused Daj, What is this all about? Was he trying to say his bike is better and you can't build a bike or something? I don't mean this post to piss you off, I was just curious  Dinner
-
I can see why you are pissed off. Like i dunno maybe its just me and the fact i've never been on sand, or get to ride much due to work. But however, if I made plans to go riding for a week, especially at a place like Glamis....I WOULD FRICKEN GO. Like riding lets me think, clear my mind and obviously have a hell of a time. Especially when your riding with your friends! But that is just my opinion. I would love to go to Glamis at some point in future years
-
Yea pretty much  I didn't use a jig saw, I used a utility knife and sand paper. I put down some markings of where I wanted to cut them and then started cutting. After I had them cut I sanded the edges down and that was about it.

Splash guards Need to be there?
Dinner replied to Bansheeman1121's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Ohhhh ok (thanks MDS) I don't have to run it if you feel the need. That plastic piece is mainly for when your bike is bouncing around, whether trail riding, whoops, things like that. That plastic piece is suppose to help "catch" fuel out of the bowl that is bouncing around and direct it into the jet.
