  1. Clutch springs are like $5. They're cheap as hell. Only use three. Using everyother one. Motoworld should have them. If not try Scribs on Greenfield. Thats right behind where I live. As for paddles, Haulers are the SHIT! I don't know why people say that straight paddles suck for duning? I haven't noticed a difference except more bite!!!
  2. I'm not sure what you're talking about with the "1/2 moon shaped piece". I know you don't need a timing key if your using a adjustable timing plate. If that piece is your timing key, then yet take it out. All a timing key does is advance your timing +3. That's it. Take that thing out and with the adjustable timing plate you can go up to +/- 10 degrees. Ask Kevin just to make sure. He's knows everything! Give him a call today! I wish I could buy that golf cart. My wife wants one so bad but we can't afford shit right now! If they really want to get rid of it, they can just give to me! LOL! I'll pick it up this week! LOL!
  3. http://www.herrjugsracing.com/ great port job, cheap, and fast turnaround!
  4. You do not need a stronger clutch. If you want, you can put 3 heavy duty clutch springs in . This will make the clutch grab better. Don't replace your clutch until your stock clutch is toast. I am still on my stock and look at my mods. Usually when someone on here refers to "race gas", it does not mean you have to run straight race gas. What they mean to say is that you will have to run "some" race gas. Depending on your compression and timing. ex: 50/50. I run 50/50. Half pump and half 110 octane. I know a lot of this is confusing or overwhelming, but once you do all this for the first time, it will be like a second nature after that. About your timing. When you get the adjustable timing plate, that will replace the timing key you have in there. Get rid of that thing. They can come loose during operation and mess things up. You will want to put your timing at +4. Line it up with the line(crack) on the case. It is the line where the case halves come together. Look close cause it is hard to see sometimes. It took me awhile before I new what everyone was talking about. If you have any other questions, I will try to explain it to you as best as possible without confusing you!!! Let me know!
  5. Glad to hear the good news! Your bike is going to haul ass. Porting makes a HUGE difference! You can do "bolt ons" as much as you want, but without a good port job, they are pretty much useless!
  6. It looks like the 18th it is! I checked on planetsand and they all agreed on the 18th. Hope a lot of you can go! I'll be there for sure!!!
  7. QUOTE(bansheeryder21 @ Jul 31 2007, 04:20 PM) I sent the "port man" as I am going to call him an e mail. I think that I might actually do that. I went to his website and he is in San Diego and so am I so that should not be to hard. Is this like your friend or something or does he just do really good work? Thanks for the tip. Yes he is local so that makes it that much easier. He is not a friend of mine. Just a guy that can port like no other and make some serious power. Definetly call him and talk to him about it! You won't be dissapointed!
  8. If you are going to port your cylinders and get 35 pwk's you can run longer gearing especially if you are going to want to be fast up the hill. I run 14/40 with 2nd gear starts and there isn't a bike that can keep up with me unless it is stroked. Look at my sig for my set up. If I were you, I would at least run 14/41(stock). If not that, try 15/41 or 14/40-39.
  9. Zach45 is right about the intake boots. They will not fit into the VF3's unless you cut them. They come with instructions on how to do it. It's not that hard at all. The Noss Head should come with instructions too. That is not hard as well. For the head you will need some RTV sealant, a torque wrench, and some all purpose grease for the O'rings. If I were you though, since you have everything pretty much apart, I would take the short amount of time and unbolt your cylinders(4 nuts per cylinder) and send them to Kevin Herr (www.herrjugsracing.com) for a nice port job. It should only cost about $150-350 depending on what you get done. If you contact him, he will talk to you about your motor and let you know different options he can do all depending on what kind of riding you like to do. He does EXCELLENT work and can make some serious power. Spend the extra 20 minutes and take those things off and get them ported. You won't be dissapointed! You will not find a better price on port jobs for the quality and time that he puts into his customers bikes! Plus the customer service he gives is second to none! Let him know bansheeryder21 sent you! (Elisha)
  10. I tried searching for a thread on Glamis night races this summer and couldn't find anything. Does anyone know when the next night races are going to be? I jumped on PlanetSand and it looks like it is a toss up between August 11 and August 18. Does anyone know what the FOR SURE dates are??? Has there even been a night race yet this summer?
  11. That picture is most likely not of super. There is one spot at super where there is all sand and that is Sand Dam! It's a pretty small hill right in the middle of super where people usually hang out and have races. The closest city is plaster city but the closest main city is El Centro which is about 40-50 miles east of super. Do what 88 said and GO TO GLAMIS OR GORDONS!
  12. No more than 50hp. You should be able to beat a lot of 4-strokes or at least be even with them. But don't get upset when some of them fly by you. If you want your bike to be fast, get it ported. That's the best bang for the buck. Go to www.herrjugsracing.com. Talk to Kevin. He'll hook you up.
  13. I think you are talking about the clutch side case cover seal. It's not a matter of getting lucky, you MUST split the case in order to replace the crank seal. It's like having hand cuffs on, you can't get your hands free unless you unlock them with a key!
  14. I am going to Gordon's agian this weekend. I will be leaving tomorrow afternoon/night. We should definetly meet up out there. This will be my last trip for awhile until the night races start out at Glamis. Let me know if you want to meet up. There should be about 5 quads and a dirt bike in our group. If we don't talk, look for a blue/white banshee, a black banshee w/full bores, a silver ex400 and a red CRF450 at the hill. Later!
  15. SK82's are too expensive! I agree with Korndawg!
  16. I went out to Gordon's last weekend and the weather was actually really nice. It was in the low 90s at the hottest part of the day. The only thing that sucked was that it was windy on Sunday, but we left early. Well I am going out agian this weekend. If anyone wants to go or is heading out there, lets meet up and have a nice HQ ride before the end of the season.
  17. Next time go to Glamis! There is always people there! LOL!
  18. that looks like fun! Suspension looks nice! I wonder how fast it is? Well guess I'll just have to buy it and find out! LOL!
  19. Did you call Kevin yet at Herr Jugs Racing? Trust me, give him a call, as well as anyone else who is thinking about building your motor!
  20. I know what you guys are saying! If I did that, then the differential would be upside down and it would leak oil like a SOB! Look at the rear end of a truck, it is pretty much the same thing! I'll try to get some pictures soon and maybe that will help out a little bit! Thanks for everyones input! Lets keep trying and we will figure something out!
