  1. I run the same ones. They are what come stock. Never had any problems!!!
  2. i know this is an old post but I am trying to learn as much as I can about stock carbs because my brother in law just bought a stock banshee so I have to learn all over again from step one. Havent touched a stock shee in a long long time. is this tube they are referring to the "fuel lines"? I know that his carbs are not connected except for the fuel line. And my second question is how to you sync stock carbs? without tors! he has a twist throttle on his bike, and we put a stock thumb throttle back on. the way I synced the carbs was made sure the idle screws were the same and made sure that the slides had the same gap when they were down. I did this by adjusted the cable on the caps and then tighten the lock nut. Is this right? we are going out to the desert this wknd and dont wanna it to blow up! bike runs good and strong so far!
  3. I need some k&n pods with outerwears for stock carbs asap! Anybody in San Diego area have some?
  4. Whatever you do, DO NOT use wiesco rings with stock pistons! I did that after my build and ruined my cylinders. I threw both rings and they tore my cylinders apart!
  5. So, look at my sig and tell me what u think? I have 19cc domes with +6 timing at seal level. Can I run 4g/1g pump and be fine or should I just run straight 100LL? Just trying to pinch pennies and max my HP for what I've got
  6. Where do you live? I live in San Diego and the COL is pretty damn expensive here along with fuel prices!!!
  7. Okay thanks for the advice! We are just going to leave it for now until he gets pods. That way we eliminate the whole air box in general. Thanks again.
  8. I got it! 100LL blue. Just Got 12 gallons from the airport. $5.20/gallon. Ouch!!! Cheaper than VP though!
  9. I have always ran VP/pump mixed at 100 octane. I know that avgas is cheaper and want to start using it. What color do I use. I know there are different colors for octane levels, lead, low lead, and lead free. Which one do I use?
  10. My brother in law just bought a banshee. It has t-6's and the pro flow billet air filter adapter with a foam filter and foam protector. My question is can I run the filter without the air box. On my banshee I cut the aire box off except for the front adapter piece. I had a k&n with outerwear. I'm not sure if you can do this with a foam filter. If I did this, would I have to rejet?
  11. Impact! I've done it without my first time. Use a long breaker bar and has someone hold the rear brake.
  12. Front sprocket- more teeth=less torque=longer gears Front sprocket- less teeth=more torque=shorter gears Rear sprocket- more teeth=more torque=shorter gears Rear sprocket- less teeth=less torque=longer gears Stock gearing- 14/41 Depending on where you are riding depends on what set up you have. I ride strictly dunes but because I have a built motor I run 14/40 and have no problems. Before I built my motor I ran 13/41 for more torque in the sand. Correct me if I'm wrong but 3 teeth in the back= 1 tooth in the front. Hope I helped!
  13. I have 34mm PJ's and haven't touched a stock carb in years. I just got another shee and need to tune the carbs as well. So can someone please help us both out? What are stock jets set at? My banshee has a mild port job, pod K&N's, and T-5's. Can someone please give me an idea of where to start. I am at sea level. Also just in general, what Jet does what in a carb. I haven't ridden or worked on my banshee in years and actually forgot everything. I know that the Main and Pilots do different things as far as low end and high end power. Can some please give me a quick refresher or send me a link to an older post! Kevin Herr if you read this please help me out brotha! Elisha

  17. are you going to Glamis this weekend for the night races?
  18. www.herrjugsracing.com -drag port, milled/rechambered head, +8 timing, 34mm pj's/alchy, shearer outframes, reed spacers, VF3's, K&N pods, lightened flywheel, shift star mod, pancake bearing, racing clutch w/ 3 hd springs. You're looking around $1700 for all that listed.
  19. Depending what size/brand of paddle you are running will determine your gearing. Also the bike needs to be dialed in. With the bike dialed in and running haulers, I would start with 15-41. If you are running out of gear up the hill, go down in the rear one at a time. if you reach 48 and still need more, go back to a 41 and put a 16 in the front 16/41. But try 15-41 first and see how you like it!
