  1. Hey, the fool posting this is my brother. His elevation is sea level if that helps diagnose the problem. Glamis and Gordon's well is where we roll.
  2. So I want to post a story that may help someone in the future. I live in San Diego so my stomping ground is Gordon's Well and Glamis. Anyways I think it was during summer and I was performing some regular maintenance on my 05 banshee. I took the carbs off and I was cleaning them. Cleaned everything, filters, changed oil... everything. I keep the bike in tip top shape at all times. Anyways it was summer so for 6 months I didn't use the bike at all. I always put stay-bil in the gas and start it up about twice a month. This procedure has always worked for me. So start of desert season and the 1st day the bike works perfect. Second day the bike works perfect. Third day and we go out on one last ride and when I'm on it hard it likes to cut out at the top end. Idle is fine revvs up fine and at slow speed it seems perfect. Seriously I checked EVERYTHING over the next few months. Checked the electrical box, plug wires, plugs, wiring, jet sizes, needles, needle level, different needles, different needle level with all types of needles and jets and basically just reset the bike back to when it ran the best (Kevin Herr tuning FYI never doubt it) (mind you this is after a few wasted trips at the desert because me and friends were all stumped). Anyways I change out the stator as a last case scenario and it still does the same thing. I ruined my bad ass ricky stator in the process by pulling wires out of the plug and other crap. I was getting impatient and dumb because I could not figure out the problem. We even took the head off to see if the rings were bad or a head seal was missing or something. Seriously SO much work to try and figure out this problem. At this point I'm upset and thinking about just selling it. This is what happens next. The riding season is over and its a hot summer day and I'm bored. Call my dad and see if he wants to drink beer and wash our bikes. He brings his 06 banshee over and we proceed to have a few beers and wash the bikes. During the process of cleaning my bike we take the carbs apart to start to clean them out. We know that all electrical components are perfect because I would switch them out at the desert with friends' bikes with known reliable parts. As we are taking the carbs apart we notice that on one of them one of the main jets is sliding up and down freely within the carburetor itself. The problem: I was missing the TINY brass washer that goes on before the main jet. I was so happy that this was the problem. It was a relief and annoying at the same time. We figured the reason that it worked okay for the first few rides is because it was kind of wedged in there and didn't slide up and down with the needle going in and out. Anyways remember that that washer can be the difference between running perfect of complete chaos. I wanted to give another shout out to Ricky Stator because I pulled some wires out when I was taking it out and they replaced it for me. Awesome customer service and I have no complaints.
  3. yeah actually had to send 1 RS Stator back and the next one I got was legit. Had it on there for about 2 years now.... I know and have the tool to check compression, but how do I check to see if there is a "good, stong, blue spark?"
  4. Alright so all my mods are in my signature. I started trying a few different things (main jet and timing) after I burnt up a piston. It was my own fault on the pistons as I was wide open on the flats for far to long. anywys after the rebuild it ran fine for 1 trip out to Glamis. After that (no changes made) the next trip the plugs started backing out and oil was coming out of the head. Called Keving (excellent guy, awesome builder and very helpful by the way) and he suggested I take the timing from +7 to +5. following direction after this trip I put the timing from +7 to +5 (all still running the same 100 octane gas I always have) the bike works perfect for 1 day. The next day i cant hit any hills. The bike starts fine, idles fine, and runs fine, but what it does is just fall on its ass at high rev right at/past the power band. Really feels like the choke is on or its running out of gas or it needs to be cleared out. So at the desert I take both carbs appart and they are perfectly clen. I change the plugs and she fires right up. Hoping the cleaning may have done someting I take it out for a test run and it does the same thing. Oh yeah also checked the timing plate and it was not loose and still on +5 like i put it. Pod filters were also clean and nice. The "old" plugs also looked fine. so... yeah i am stumped. tried to call Kevin (he called back) but our work hours are opposite so we keep missing each other so I thought I would post up here... you guys are always helpful.
  5. Me and a few friends are going out to Gordon's Well. Leaving October 22 after work (around 5 PM) and coming home around Sunday afternoon. So far all that is going is me, my friend and my dad. So, 3 banshees my truck and all that stuff in my toy hauler. We are going to camp as far away from everyone as we can. Good times with good people! BYOB lol
  6. Hey guys I had an accident and bent both the tie rods on my Full American Star +2+1 Arm suspension. AWESOME company stood by their warranty and replaced them at no cost... LOVE IT!!! Anyways i'm reinstalling the tie rod ends. I forget if they go with the bolt facing UP or facing DOWN on the steering stem AND on the spindle itself. Do you know what i'm saying? The tie rod ends can go in either way... I need to either put them in from the top or bottom. Is the steering stem supposed to go one way and the spindle end supposed to go another way?
  7. Hey I was just wondering if any has ever ridden in Rocky Point, Mexico. Do you have any pictures and how does it compare to Gordons Well or Glami?
  8. Sale pending for $40.00 shipped. If you offer more than its yours. I gave ECshee my EM address and phone number to let me know when he sends the money so I dont take $ from multiple people. THANKS!!
  9. Hello, I have a stock carrier from a 2005 banshee for sale. I upgraded my swing arm and carrier with a different style. Anyways I attached a picture. Its in 100% perfect working order and condition. Name your price, but make sure you include shipping in your price as well. I live in california. I accept pay pal, cash or check (it has to clear first if check) however you want to do it. If you have a good condition black banshee gas take plastic I will trade for that as well. Thanks! Dustin
  10. Alright so i just got done primering the arm for paint and noticed that where it bolts to the frame the tube is not welded on strait. Is that normal? Is that going to make the entire rear end be off center? I checked the other crappy swingarm shop one off and its strait... please advise... does this need to be returned?
  11. Hey, thanks for all the replies! I e-mailed Stellar performance so hopefully I can get come price quotes and the ball rolling on this thing!
  12. Okay so here is the story. I bought my bike in 2008 and soon upgraded to a +4 swingarm from this guy and it broke at the point where the shock mounts onto it. It was in the 1 year warranty so he replaced it... whatever, still a PITA having to take it off and ship it and want. So within the 1 year of the new one it breaks at the same point and i'm over it now so I take it to a welding shop and have it fully gusseted so avoid future mishap. So my brother and I are on a nice ride at Gordon's and see its cracked on the main tubing area near the carrier. I'm mad, don't ride the rest of the weekend and begin to take it off again when I get home when in taking it off the bottom bolt loop that the carrier is bolted to just falls to the ground because its broken off and just held in place by the clamping pressure. So I give up, i'm out the $200 and decide I need a new stronger swingarm. I have been looking herebecause he says these ladder bar swing arms are strong and its a decent price. Whatever, I have to buy a honda style carrier, but they are better anyways. I was reading on the forum and people are talking good about Cascade's swing arms here so they are in the picture too, but frekin EXPENSIVE! All in all I just need a +4 swingarm that will hold up. I ride the dudes of California, I weigh between 250 & 270 and am 6'4" tall. I don't care about chrome because I will put my own paint on it. I just want something that I can rely on and I don't think that is to much to ask for. Opinions please! Thanks for listening!
  13. LOL... I wish I had one here to look at! http://www.knfilters.com/search/univround.aspx
