  1. Good inputs. I've used everything. Now I just use distilled water. Keep it clean.
  2. ^ yeah I'd ask the builder ^ If not call Kevin at HJR 619-945-3622. Great guy and he'll point you in the right direction
  3. Not sure on piston clearance with your bore size and head. I would call Kevin at HJR and ask him what you should do. He does really quality work at a very affordable price and is very friendly. With $1500 he could easily port and put a 4mil in that stock shee. Actually with $1500 you have some options. Give him a call...858-945-3622.
  4. email your shipping address to eli@herrjugsracing.com and he'll send you some free stickers
  5. BUMP!!! He's giving out FREE stickers too!
  6. cool! I thought that the HJR guys on here would like to know he's now on istagram and will share their pictures if they email them to him.
  7. So I know there's a lot of people on here with HJR motors. If any of you are on Instagram, go and follow @herrjugsracing now!!! @herrjugsracing @herrjugsracing @herrjugsracing @herrjugsracing @herrjugsracing If you want your bike posted on the HJR instagram, email photos to Eli@herrjugsracing.com
  8. Cool heads don't give to much HP without ported cylinders. I did pretty much every bolt imaginable before I got my motor ported by HJR and never noticed any big changes. Once Kevin did a dune port it was a completely different machine. If I were you, I would spend the $300-400 and get a nice port job done by Kevin at HerrJugsRacing. You will notice a substantial gain in power, especially if you use 19cc domes and go to race or Avgas. Give him a call anytime, he is very friendly to talk to and will give you the advice your looking for. Www.herrjugsracing.com (760) 703-1836
  9. Bold statement agreed! Everyone has their favorite. I've never gone wrong with Kevin's builds and I stand by his professionalism and work 100%.
  10. Best bang for your buck would be to send your cylinders to Kevin at HerrJugsRacing and get a port job done. When I first started doing mods to my banshee I did everything but get a port job done and never really noticed a huge power gain. After Kevin did a dune port my bike was completely different machine. Still fun and reliable but way faster and it showed! Call him at (760) 703-1836 and he'll will let you know what he can do for what you can afford. He's very reasonable and great to work with. Tell him Elisha referred you. Good luck!
  11. I'd call Kevin and tell him exactly what you want and what you may want in the future. He will set you up with whatever will suite your needs. He a super friendly guy and has actually come toy house before a desert trip to tune my bike (I'm local). No other builder will give you that kind of support and feedback. I think your biggest question now should be what builder to go with. Kevin is very good at doing budget builds without taking short cuts and his builds out perform any competition cc for cc. Search HJR on this forum and you'll like what you find.
  12. Glad to see a fresh new build on here. All your questions are good and are standard for someone new to banshee. As far as a motor, I would use a stock 350 and Kevin at HJR do a port job of your choice and throw in a 4mil crank. He can set it up anyway you would like as far as pump, race, e85, or Avgas. He is a great guy to work with and doesn't excellent work at an affordable price 100% satisfaction guaranteed. His turnaround times are pretty quick too. Go to www.herrjugsracing.com or call him at (760) 703-1836. He can work prices with you since your trying to do a budget build. Good luck! Tell him Elisha referred you.

  14. Just wanted to take a breif moment to give a big Shout Out to Kevin at HerrJugsRacing (HJR). I've been a client of his for almost 10 years now and he has never let me down once to the day. Every little thing I have had to trouble shoot he has been there to help out until the problem is figured out and has never given up on a project. I've had several motors built by Kevin and each one has performed extrememly well and held it's own in compitition in the sand. If you are thinking about getting any work done on your Banshee do not hesitate to contact Kevin and consider him for your build. Ask anyone on this forum who has delt with him and they will express the same gratitued guranteed. All you HJR guys on here spread the love and comment a shoutout to Kevin!!!

  16. Okay just got done trouble shooting with Kevin H. Compression is good Leak down is good Swapped out coil, caps, wires, flywheel, stator, cdi, and harness. Nothing changed. 34mm PJ's w/52 pilot, 172 main. The bike starts right up, idles great, drives but will not rev out. Feels like a rev limiter. Im going to check the reeds and change carbs. If neither of those fixes the problem I'm at a lost for words. Kevin and I are stumped on this one.
