  1. your compression is a problem being 10 psi different. but I don't think that is your starting problem. I think your pilot my be to small, and your air screw may need adjusting.
  2. you found your problem. you don't use the cusion rings.
  3. when the choke is on the right carb pulls fuel from the left side. if it's not getting fuel with the choke off then I would suggest first make sure your needle and seat isn't stuck, then try cleaning the carbs jets and passages and try again.
  4. what do your plugs look like? sounds lean up top, fat down low. your pilot jets are in the bottom of carbs by the mains, there the long ones. stock is a 25. idle screws are under the seat on top of that shit on your carbs. about the size of a dime.
  5. disconnect the fuel line and check for good fuel flow. if the flow is bad check the screens in the tank as stated above. if you have good flow clean the jets and passages in the carbs. also check for cracks in the intake boots, choke tube between carbs, loose cylinder bolts, loose intake screws. goodluck
  6. personally I would run 50-50 93 and race fuel at 165 psi or lower the compression. the performance from 155 psi and pump gas and 165psi and race fuel isn't that great.
  7. what are your mods including jet sizes andcarb settings? welcome to the hq
  8. they offer a little more tunability in the middle. I woyld try the stock ones first, if they work fine keep them .
  9. denton racing j-arms look really strong.
  10. Welcome to the hq. $500 is only the beginning. have you tried a new set of plugs, ckeck the plug caps?
  11. which american cars are still built here?
  12. all those fancy jobs. I cut grass when it's warm and work at a foundation company when it's cold. a lowly lowly laborer.
  13. the cpi's have alot of overrev.they will definitally pull higher than your trinity's,hit harder also.
  14. boost bottle is a waste of money. have you put in bigger mains yet? you can mess with that needle all you want but if the main is to small your not going to be able to jet the middle properly. with proper jetting, t-5s, milled head and +4 degrees timing you should have a strong bottom( for a banshee)
  15. if there the same as stock the 28's should fit the stock boot
  16. have you gone through the wiring harness to make sure no wires where pinch, melted or bare causing a erratic problem at differant rpm.also if your screen in the tank is partially plug that will starve the left side for fuel before the right if you don't have proper fuel flow. try running in the reserve position, that is usually used less, and less likely to be clogged.
  17. when do you here the pinging most, and what does it sound like?
  18. by changing your stock reeds, you will gain throttle response. look to see if they are hanging open where they contact the cage. if they do you can change them or flip them.
  19. your right carb my have something plugging it causing a lean condition and the popping. did the 27.5 pilot help? if so try a 25 or stock pilot. also try going up on the mains. how do your plugs look?I would go up on the main until it boggs down WOT, and back off 1 size. then start working on the needle and pilot.
  20. when my left cylinder was cutting out I tried everything possible in the electrical system. my problem was a bad connection at the coil, I soldered wires to the coil with a automotive style plug and solved my problem. you said that you haven't had a chance to ride except in your neighbor hood. have you been able to get the machine to operating temperture? if this miss problem has been on a cold machine, try to run at operating temperture.
  21. if the iidle screws where not installed properly they will have litte affect on idle speed. have you made sure your slides are in correct as stated eariler, cutouts toward the air filter. with clamp ons your main is way to small, try 320-350. try lowering your clip1, fourth from top. the longer needle is supose to offer more tunability, buy if yours has only 5 positions, thats not the case. usually the longer needles have 6 slots.looking back at your first post you said you have a timing plate.what is it set at, make sure somone didn't retard it on accident. also what is your compression? low compression will make a engine impossible to jet properly. good luck
  22. the mains are to small for your setup, try 310-350 depending on temp. do you still have the 25 pilot jets? try those, also try adjusting your air screws for better throttle response. have you cleaned your carbs? do that too.
  23. If the slides move up and down freely with the cable disconnected, but is bound when hooked up the problem is the cable orthumb throttle.
  24. sounds real lean on the left side if it's popin and back firing on the left. what do your plugs look like? lean condition on the left could be a crank seal, loose cylinder, bad boot, plugged jet or carb. overheating could be from a bad impeller in the water pump, that could also cause your problems.
