  1. Best bang for the buck, pipes and porting.
  2. If it starts when you put gas in the cylinders, and you have gas in the bowls. I would say your problem is the carbs. there pluged not letting the gas get to the engine.
  3. I would move the axle back. the hanger kit is cheap, and it's a easy job.
  4. give jeff at F.A.S.T toys a call, he sounds like everybody likes his work and customer service. theres a post on him in general discussion
  5. 15-41 works good for me at silver lk and the trails I ride around mi. I've tried 13, 14, and 15-41. I like 15-41 the best.
  6. when you filled it up, did you leave the little hose off the head untill antifreeze came out? if you have an air pocket, that could stop the coolant flow through the cylinders but still see coolant moving in the radiator. now that you remove the cap and filled it back up, you my have gotten all the air out. take it for another ride and see. other wise check for blocked rad,bad impleller, or improper jetting.
  7. eric gorr at foward motion answers his phone and any questions you might have. had great prices on parts and porting. I haven't read a bad thing about jeff at F.A.S.T either.
  8. what do you mean by bad? your banshee will be mad at you and thats bad.
  9. I love mine.
  10. if you have a broken reed it will be hard to start, push gas back through the carb to the filter. it could of backfired because it was overheated. was smoke coming from the clutch cover or just the clutch side of the engine?antifreeze on a hot engine will smoke
  11. I would send the jugs, and let your machinest decied which size you need. he might be able to get them cheap.
  12. on all my 250r's and my banshee, before the fenders were cut, racing on the pavement the front end would be lite and wonder. after cutting them it was more stable above 60-65.no I'm not kidding.
  13. he's already checked that read the posts
  14. saves me alot of typing...also the 85-6 atc and 86 trx cylinder is thicker, I believe you can go 140 over. and 100 over on the 87-89
  15. I think the people who like banshees now will always like them. I've always liked 2-strokes and always will. hopefully the tree huggers don't ruin that for me.
  16. you stay alot cleaner and drier with your fenders on, but on long open fast trails you lose some top end and stability. the front end gets lite after about 60-65 mph.
  17. when you say crankcase oil, I aasume your talking about your premix gas and oil. only way I can see that getting into your coolant is through a cracked cylinderor bad head gasket. If your talking about trans oil, I'd check your impeller seal and impeller like 350 X said.
  18. the cpi's have more overrev, if they can pull more air they will need more fuel.if it feels like it's laying down up top, i would step it up a size or two
  19. make sure you spray and blow out all the little passages.
  20. yes it fit the boot, didn't lose anything noticable on bottom, seemed to gain through the middle and top. this is only verified by seat of the pants dyno. I did gain a couple mph on top, so i must of got some power there. that was checked with my gps.
  21. If you do a search there's a pic somewhere. but if you take your seat off and look at your carbs where the throttle cable go to the tops, it's the screw that is about the size of a dime. assuming you have stock carbs.
  22. the 160 is 6 sizes bigger than the 148. I also think the 160's may be fat. but better fat and change a set of plugs, than lean and change a set of pistons
  23. you could try turning your air screws in to see if that helps. I think the 30 pilots will be to big, I'd try 27.5s. also maybe lower your clip a notch or 2. I've read the stock needles perform better than the toomeys, but don't know it as fact.
  24. first thing I would do is normal maintance. clean the air filter, change the plugs and oil, clean the carbs and try again. the idle screws are under the seat on top of the carbs. about the size of a dime. I f you still have stock carbs
  25. left side of carbs above the bowl toward the back.
