  1. I personnally would check all the basic stuff first before I tore the motor down. might be as simple as the right carb needs to be cleaned and a new set of plugs.
  2. try closing the air screw, that will let more fuel through.make sure your pilots are clear and the passages clean. also check your reeds, if there not closing that will make it hard to start. make sure the left bowl is on the left carb or your choke won't work.
  3. start at 300 on the mains, and the stock pilot. I think I read fatties like the 4th from the top on the needle.
  4. stock was 220 on my buddy's 94. I think your buddys in for a melt down.
  5. the 250r is an awesome all around great bike. anyone says different is closed minded.the only reason the pros stopped racing them is because the factorys started throwing money at the new stuff. they were still the pros choice up to a couple years ago. I'm lucky enough to own both, if you can afford to keep the shee too you'll be a very happy man. the ct 350 power valve kit seems to be a great deal. all parts and labor included, just send them your engine.
  6. personally I would ask the builder I was going to use. the spray it and rebuild approach is just stupid
  7. I don't think the cable is the same, but you might be able to make it work. some of the keiln tops have the cables connected to them.
  8. it's earier to tune, looks cleaner, and makes more power from bottom to top on a stock port motor. also performs really good with a mild port.
  9. did you know to search when you firstcame to the hq or did you ask question already asked?
  10. you need gaskets on both sides.
  11. or switch to a single, trinity's cv intake gives you more power bottom to top on a mostly stock bike.
  12. get it running right first.
  13. clean your carbs throughly. what do your plugs look like? right side sounds lean.
  14. sounds to me like a lean or plugged pilot, also try adjusting your air screw.
  15. I would try 230-240 mains, and put the cilp 4th from top.also remove the snorkel and cut the back of the lid to the clips.
  16. found the answer in search. Thanks
  17. Does anyone know the smallest rear sprocket you can run before going to the honda hub? Thanks.
  18. if you think the main is good and it starts and idles good, has crisp clean throttle response. don't change any think but the needle if 3rd is lean and 4th is fat try the stock needles. 340 main is to lean with a dune port, keep the 380.
  19. I would get porting first, but the trinity 2-1 setup works much better than stock.
  20. Iwas going to say the same thing. make sure you put the key in right.
  21. you'll gain more hp from porting than the coolhead and v-force combined. the topend is easy to do, just get a manual.
  22. I would guess that your jetting was a little off before, and now your about right on. every 2 stroke i've had idled higher with the choke on.
  23. 2-strokes do not have oil rings like 4 strokes. the crank gets oiled from the premix.your plugs if there fouled should smell like your premix and gas.if your right side crank seal is bad the right cylinder can suck oil from the clutch side which is your trans oil. or if your cases are not sealed properly, either side can suck oil.
  24. eric gorr probably has been porting cylinders and building engines longer than you have been alive. as for his weak clean up port, have you yet heard anyone complain about it. all I read was praise.you tell the guy what you want and you get what you ask for, for $250.I'm very happy the weak unusable power he provided me with.
  25. a drag ported engine isn't going to have low end.if your idle screws were not installed properly, they will have little adjustment. Is your bog feel flat or is it stumbling? if it feels flat, I would suggest a bigger pilot, and adjust your air screws. and lower your clip.
