1. rich, i'd say your pilots are big, does it clean up and run good on top.
2. seems alittle fat to me, every engine is different though it will tell you what it wants.were your needles on the top clip?
3. I would go up two sizes.with it getting cold out and your airbox mod, thats where i would start.
4. mine sound equally loud, maybe your silencers need repacked.
5. don't forget the drool bucket.
6. maybe on a dyno, but you'lll never notice it riding.
7. if they are pre jetted for sea level and your at 2500 ft you should be a little rich. but they sound a little small to me.
8. check your ground, make sure it has a good connection. check your wiring. make sure the plunger on the kill switch is moving in when the teather is pulled.
9. I would also get the filters for the holes to keep debris out. there avaible from toomey
10. I don't know what oil to use. i've heard it wants to seperate in the cold,it's hard to keep mixed.
11. Welcome make sure the float needle is not stuck open
12. Welcome I agree with loco.300-320 on the mains
13. I personally would just weld it back on.
14. not positive on this, but i think the lid helps hold the filter in place if you don't have the proflow adaptor. make sure that air cleaner is not flopping around.
15. I didn't know you had to jet for an airfilter. 279679 more air= more fuel. now you know.
16. Yea it was pre-jetted for Sea Level... I am about 2,584 ft. above Sea Level.. Tucson Az.. What do you think is a good starting point for my current elevation??? Also, as I said in my first post, it sounded like it was Rich, but then I pulled the new plugs I put in and they were really close to a light tan.. Not even brown at all.. that is what is so confusing to me.. 280960 go up a size on your pilots and try again. give us the results.
17. your stock pilot should be fine, it's a 25. your mains should be 250 -280 ballpark. your reeds may be hanging open slightly, if they are try flipping them see if it starts eaiser.
18. i've had 3 250r's, I still have an 86, It's nice but I only ride it to make sure every thing is still working. My friends ride it mostly, we take it for a spare, usually someone breaks down.
19. If it ran on ether but stalled when you stopped spraying, look for something plugging your fuel line, or carbs. ether and 2 stroke not good
20. i had trouble getting past the girl, what was your problem.sounds like a burned piston on the exhaust side.
21. if you have a band wrench you might be able to hold it with that, and have it in gear also.you could try sticking a screw driver through the rear sprocket so that it stops on the swingarm, be in 1 st gear and try your breaker bar
22. If you can't read the top of the piston, try a micrometer on the piston or an inside mic on the jug.
23. and bigger boots
24. I just use an impact gun and hold it with my hand.
25. I have always run in the past, one time we were riding in down town brighton on blasters and we ran. ended up with state city and county chasing us, but some how got away. Last time I was coming home from a buddys, saw the police and decided to stop this time. got bitched out by the state boys and a escort home, no ticket.
