  1. If I remember correctly you only had 3 tanks of gas run through this motor. It looks ok to me, It looks like your .060 over, I believe .080 over on a banshee is max. w/o running into overheating problems. Good luck, hope you get it back together soon.
  2. It sounds like maybe your choke circuit is partially plugged if you can start it cold with out the choke. If it was mine I would clean the carbs, make sure the passages are clear and try again.
  3. My friend had this problem onthe left side last time we rode. After cleaning the carbs he still had the same problem. The left carb ended up having some gunk in the fuel tube that would block the float needle. we found that when we sprayed out all the passages the second time.
  4. A banshee motor splits top and bottom. Makes life alot easier, Get a manual if you don't have one. you'll know you got everything out and know how to tear the whole thing down. don't forget you'll need yahamabond or something similar and a flywheel puller. Good luck
  5. Sure couldn't build one for so little. That thing has all the go fast parts.
  6. the stock carrier won't work.you'll need a honda style carrier for a banshee axle. Hopefully the swingarm also came with all the hardware for the brakes and hub.
  7. Read before asking ?, sredish is running a 205 main and a eek needle. If you buy his plane ticket maybe he'll tune it for you.
  8. there way to loud also, and costly
  9. About 20 miles west of Houghton Lk, Just off I-75 exit 222.
  10. I'd go to the dealer welcome
  11. I'd listen to sredish,he's done the homework for you. Tuned properly you should have no flat spots with the 2-1 setup.
  12. To check tdc you can use a dial indicator in the spark plug hole. trying to c.c your domes with the head on can't be done accurettly because the fluid will leak past the rings, also the jugs are on a forward angle. you need to remove your head, plug the plug holes, place the head on a level surfaceand add fluid 1 c.c at a time untill the dome is full. I believe you could use a piece of plexie glass on top of the head with a hole in it to add the fluid. you'll also need to know your squish and your piston dome size. Good luck
  13. Mine didn't have a way to adjust it, I just tightened the screws up. It's been good so far
  14. Me and some buddys went for a day ride to st. helen, mi. today. They must have just groomed some the trails. they were flat and fast 5th and 6th gear in the straits, never had to shift under 4th gear in the turns. It was awesome, fastest trail riding i've ever done. There was still some whooped out trails to, but they didn't compare to being pinned in 5th sideways through a long sweeper. I had a great day, just wanted to share.
  15. Definately worth it. 2 into 1 2 to1 rules,
  16. Love em, the power is awesome. My motor isn't ported, I hear they don't work well with a ported motor.
  17. No problems with relibilty, it will stall easier. only problem I know of.
  18. I like klotz r50, I mix mine at 32 to 1. I personlly like the extra oil for the bearings.
  19. I am lucky enough to have both. If the suspension is stock on both, the honda will only have a slight edge. it's lower and faster out of the corners, holeshots better, but the banshee will hold it's own.On a tight track the honda should win, on a fast open track, the banshee should win. If you dune more than you race, stick with the banshee. That's hard for me to say, I've had 250r's since 1988. Hope this helps
  20. The powerband on a banshee doesn't work well for mx, you would be better off with a 350 powervalve honda engine there on the pipe when you start them. Just my opinion
  21. about 660 ft
  22. all the things everybody else said, and I really like my trinity cv intake.
  23. If you like to do wheelies, I'd go with the honda. All the ex's and the new R like to wheelie. Don't know any thing about the Z.
  24. I wolud start with a compression check. With no head mods, and stock compression height pistons, your cyl pressure should be 110- 130 psi. where in the rpm range are you having problems with jetting. Main jet 3/4 to full needle 1/2 to 3/4 pilot 1/8 to 1/4 air screw idle to 1/8 Hope this helps
