  1. you can mill your head up to .030 and still be ok. you want to keep your cylinder pressure 165 psi or less for pump gas.I gained 30 psi milling my head .025. if you want to be able to steer i think mohawks are the best, they handle great and there the lightest. but also costly
  2. Check your choke circuit make sure it's not plugged, if no problem there check for a plugged pilot circuit,if no problem there check for plugged air screw, if no problem there check for a huge intake leak, but if thats the problem you should be running lean.
  3. I think dial a jet will have that answer
  4. I agree , check the carbs first, is there still a choke tube with your carb setup
  5. Then why does running with no packing hurt prefromance? Running a shorter silencer would be like having less packing. Does this make sense to anyone else? I'm not postive, but I think by running no packing, your createing a second expansion chamber which would affect performance.
  6. Welcome, depending how much you what to spend, and what type of fuel you want to burn will help you decide. If your going to run pump gas I would mill the head.Mine cost $25 at the local auto parts. about .030 max. keep your cylinder pressure below 165 psi. if you want more power and run race fuel, get the after market head for more compression and better cooling.
  7. good info to have thanks, i'll look there first if i run into that problem.
  8. those builders did'nt say they are junk, they said they don't make is much power, as dual 33or 35's. put your stock carbs back on,and i promise you you'll be alot slower. trinity cv intake with a 35 rocks
  9. who said the mains are in the top, i said in the bowl. I was referring to william, not you.... Sorry dude
  10. No port work, T6s they respond great to all the bolt on mods, sound and look awesome. they pull hard bottom to top
  11. Just because it's loud does't mean it sounds good. I hear FMF's with toomey silencers sounds awsome
  12. I have some friends that used them on trere sleds and liked them. they installed them thereselves and said they worked great with the changing temps in the U.P
  13. I think a weak stator may cause a weak spark, but i don't know if you could get on the pipe and have it clear up. I think he's got a pluged pilot or air screw. sounds like a lean backfire.
  14. I vote for either banshee 2-strokes rule, but if the 450 gets the holeshot your going to have a hard time reeling in a 105 # rider.
  15. who said the mains are in the top, i said in the bowl.
  16. have you done a compression check, haven't seen those numbers yet.
  17. you'll need to line up the arrows with the clutch rod, it's in the middle of the clutch basket. 12mm nut and philips screw.
  18. what ever plug you chose see if they have it at murrys, i know they carry b8es & br8es, there abuot a buck cheaper than the bike shops
  19. Bartender, I'll have what he's having. I will get a pic of them they r cheap and i
  20. k&n flows the most air, but definitly use an outerwear if your riding where it's sandy or dusty. clean often
  21. there could be many reasons why it's acting sluggish other than needing a rebuild. check your plugs, jetting as the weather gets colder you'll run leaner, reeds, dirty UNI filter, etc. compression on a stock banshee should be between 110-130 psi. good luck
  22. You have to machine your stock stator plate. and you rotate counterclockwise
  23. What he said, time for a clutch.
  24. I ended up using a barnett with 3 stock and 3 heavy springs in a hinson basket. Love it so far. thanks for all the help
  25. do what everyone said, get your jetting right. with the mods you have you should have alot more low end than stoct if tune correctly. if you need more bottom end try 4 degrees timing. the trinity intake is awesome bottom to top
