1. Great deal, you're going to love the way it handles, on the ground or in the air
2. Na this is not normal. I have been runing 250R's and know what the normal 2 stroke black gunk is. This is just raw gas running out. I'm going to check my float level tomarrow, I'm guessing it is set way to high. 280506 the only thing normal is the stock carbs screwing up. you said you cleaned the carbs, did you also clean the tank. my buddys had gunk in the tank holding the float needle open. his was also leaking out the vent tubes.after you fix that problem you might want to check your jetting. it sounds real lean for a dune port and pipes, a 230 main is only 3 sizes over stock. just my opinion
3. you said you have spark and fuel, it should start. pull the plugs and pour a little of your premix gas in each cylinder. see if you can get it to fire, if it starts there is a problem in your fuel system
4. can't see a reason to switch back.unless maybe I want a undependable hard to tune piece of crap. my opinion
5. I agree that it's not the 2-1 intake, if it's not the reeds or a air leak,I was wondering how fresh is your rebuild. mine smoked a little more out of the left side when it was not completely broke in.
6. I checked the spark and it is good. The i swapped both carbs so there is no more leaking, How long should i have to kick the banshee before it starts, it hasnt ran in a month. And i checked to see if it was in neutral, it is. 280481 make sure your choke tube is hooked up,are you using your choke when you try to start it.
7. I have a 86 250r and a 96 banshee both have stock suspension, the honda is only a little better jumping. It flys a little better. Power wise no comparison, my banshee will smoke my honda. the honda has lrd pipe, v-force,milled head,36mm carb, and a k&n filter. On the track or tight trails it is better, does ok at the dunes we take it for a spare. I hardly ever ride it any more, and i've had 3 250r's and only 1 banshee.
8. personally I would wait untill you have the engine together and see what kind of cylinder pressure you have before you mill the head. just my opinion
9. what'd your low and mid do? 279713 A little softer on the bottom, but still better than stock carbs.Definitly better than the 35 by the seat of pants feel. GPS showed a gain on the top, average 3-5 MPH faster. Hoping to dyno with both this winter.
10. Would it even help for draggin'? I like the sounds of more bottom end and LOVE the one jet change. I know a larger "PAIR" of carbs would be better for draggin' but I wanted to know if a 2-1 would still help me a bit compared to stock But want to still be able to take my buddies in a straight line. Yes, it will probably drag better, because you'll have more low/mid off the line and still have more top than with the stockers, so basically, it'll start pulling earlier, and just keep pulling harder all the way up. 278880 unless you strickly drag or a hillshooter, I feel it is the best all around setup.easy to tune only one carb to clean, looks better, starts easier.just my opinion
11. personally before i did a mod to make things easier, I would make sure it was adjusted right first. That might most of your troubles.
12. you will need to rejet. any time you add more air you will need more fuel. I went from a single 35 to a single 38 and gained topend.
13. 160-165 psi cylinder pressure max for pump gas.
14. he's 35# heavier,if your the better driver like you say you are, you should be able to beat him on a blaster.
15. If you went up two sizes and are a little rich, and are adding a better air filter you might be good. every machine will be different
16. The trinity works great with the v-force and in the sand, get the 35. I think leadfoot 350 wants to switch back to duals.
17. I have t-6s,there an awesome pipe and perform great with bolt ons. But they are designed for a ported engine. Just something to consider.
18. Hopefully it blew out the exhaust without doing any damage. You could pull the head and check if it did any damage to the piston or head.
19. If your pressurizing the cooling system from a bad head gasket or cracked head I would think when you shut it down the pressure would be reversed, and not hold for a day. do you still have your overflow bottle on, thats needed tohave the cooling system work properly.
20. as long as the carb fits the intake boot you should be good. don't know what throttle cable you'll need, but that shouldn't be a problem. good luck
21. From the factory the shocks are set up for an average rider weighing 165#. The stock fronts are only preload adjustable, I would set those on the hardest. The rear is fully adjustable, set the preload for your weight, and the rebound and compression for your riding style.
22. I run 32-1, never had a problem. Yes, turn the idle up. you should have idle screws added to the carbs. don't know about the cable. welcome
23. sounds way lean for a 404 with cpi pipes, the pilot will make it fall on it's face if it is lean, you also said your plugs where oily and wet. are your floats set correctly.
24. 3-5 min. warm up then it runs great, I see no problem there. 160-165 psi max on pump gas.
