First off, give Kevin at Herr Jugs a call and talk to him about the cranks he offers. I have a bottom end rebuild walkthrough in my signature. It will give you a good over-view of what all is involved in it. If you get a crank that is trued and welded and check the run-out on it when installed, you probably won't need to get it balanced. Take good care of the bike and do the normal routine maintenance and you won't have any issues. Its a common myth that banshees blow up all the time and run like crap. The people who have these problems don't take care of them and don't do the normal stuff every banshee owner should do.

Throttle Cable Problem , Possible Solution?
BigRed350x replied to DirtDiggler69's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
You could try and find a 400ex thumb throttle housing. The blaster cable is the correct cable if you're using the banshee thumb throttle. Rather than try and ghetto rig something that could have the potential to stick your throttle open and really ruin your day, why don't you just order the correct stuff and sell the one you have on egay. -
Like i said above... the search function here is horrible.

Exhaust port roof shape vs power characteristics
BigRed350x replied to SlowMoe's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Your digging into some builders' stash of secrets with this question. My guess is that you will get some pretty limited answers. Why don't you try and pick up a few sets of stock cylinders and try some different exhaust port shapes and do some testing. I prefer my exhaust ports to be triangle shaped. -
I would ditch the airbox and get a set of pod filters. Try and snag some better pipes. Bump your timing up a little. Get some domes and bump your compression up. Get it jetted and give it a good bath.

LOL, I did the same thing. Greased the shit out the center section for months and had a bearing crap out on me. I didn't realize my mistake until I tore the rear end apart and saw the bearings were sealed.
-
It depends on your elevation and porting. Most of the time you can run pump gas with 20cc or larger domes. 20, 21, 22, 23, etc. There are charts out there that will tell you a rough estimate of your static compression based on elevation alone. Anything below 150-155psi static compression and you can run pump gas. if you advance your timing, drop that number a little bit. Give Kevin at Herr Jugs racing a call, he can hook you up with the correct domes for your setup and elevation. Great guy to deal with. - Jared

I believe mull is a site sponsor. Good stuff.

The grease zerk is a great idea, but is totally useless if you have sealed bearings. All you would be doing is packing the center section of the carrier with grease. If you want to make this idea work, make sure you remove the inside seal from your bearings before you install them, so the grease in the center of your carrier can actually get into the bearings.

I'm guessing you are foreign. LOL Who ported your cylinders? Where did you get them? What type of port job were they advertised to have when you got them?

HQ's search function sucks wang.

I buy all my OEM banshee parts from cascade. I get chains, oil, flags, sprockets, and fuel line through RockymountainATV and damn near everything else through cascade. Between those two companies I can get just about everything I need. Paddle tires and parts for my short sand car are about the only things I don't get there. Swingarms and suspension parts I get from all over the place. I have never had a single bad experience with cascade. They are always polite and helpful on the phone when I call. I've never had to return a single item to them for any reason. I go to Kevin at HJR for any machine work or port work. I've also grown to love chariot performance. They have some great products. My sister is trying to sell her BMW. Here is her Ebay listing. Its a nice car. No problems. I can deliver the car in-person if anyone purchases it. - Jared http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-5-Series-2004-Silver-BMW-525i-/270717883282?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item3f080b1392

Ebay member Minkia38 AKA Motor City ATV buyer beware
BigRed350x replied to Paulie B's topic in Online Auction Watch
He fucked me over once. Once. I ordered a rear brake master cylinder with the same BS... mint condition, etc. It showed up and was rusted up solid and wouldn't budge. I called him out on it here on HQ and he got all butt hurt and offered to send me another replacement. Which never showed up. -
Kevin gets my vote. Great guy to deal with. Very nice to talk to on the phone & has THE fastest turnaround time I have ever experienced in my life of banshees. He won't try and sell you any useless crap you don't need or that doesn't do anything. He deals in top of the line products and does absolute top-notch work. You won't be disappointed with Kevin. - Jared

the 3's have the capability to handle a higher volumetric flow rate if you use the reed stuffers like cascade sells. It all depends on what your setup is and how you want your intake charge to come in. Velocity, flow rates, etc. I like the 3's more.

Help a newb build a motor! All advice appreciated!
BigRed350x replied to Nikds350's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
When you decide which way you're going to go, give Kevin at Herr Jugs racing a call. He can take care of any of your porting needs and can get you any of the parts you need. If you're splitting the cases, I'd go ahead and do a 4mil setup. you would regret it later if you had the cases apart and didn't do it, if you can afford it. Match your pipes and carbs to whatever port job you end up going with. Kevin can go over this with you. Give him a call, his number is in my signature. - Jared -
Check out my bottom end rebuild thread in my signature. There's some pics in there that might help ya out. - Jared

Your talking about the engine stay that locogato designed to work with these covers. It prevents the engine from shifting towards the rear of the bike when you launch hard. Pretty sure loco was selling the part you're talking about. -
Call up Kevin Herr at Herr Jugs Racing. He can take care of you. He will go over your riding style and needs with you and get you set up with exactly what you need. He also has really fast turnaround! You won't be disappointed.

Thanks man, glad you liked it. - Jared

Jesus christ that shit is expensive! Just run methanol! We get meth for $1.50/gal here. Makes more power and runs cooler than race-gas.

Tusk HD clutch kit will work fine for you. I believe it comes with HD springs, depending on which kit you buy. Adjust it correctly and it should last you a while. I run the tusk kits in any of my stock stroke banshees and run the R1 fibers and barnett steels in any of the methanol bikes I have. - Jared
