He might get a hidden nitrous kit installed and be trying to spray it and not show it. He could get a big-bore cylinder or sleeve the stock cylinder. Head porting, bigger valves, etc. I had a 480yfz that looked like a stock engine. Had the cylinder sleeved, head ported, cams, intake, exhaust... 12.5:1 venom piston. It was a hard runner. Put your banshee on methanol and he won't stand a chance.

Generally once you're ported for a stock stroke you can't get them set up for a 4mil. Not very easily anyway. Give Kevin at Herr Jugs Racing a call and he will give you an honest, straight-forward answer. Most builders will want to see your cylinders and take some measurements before they will give you a definitive answer. I would give him a call. He won't steer you wrong, and won't try and sell you something you don't need.

1.75 tons. Ditch that hog.

If yours is an RZ trans, count up the teeth on each gear for me. If what you're saying is true, then I'd like to know the tooth count so I can write it in on the manual I've got. I've had an RZ transmission in one of my old bikes and never felt any difference at all when I swapped it out for a banshee trans, with the exception of 6th gear, and it always wanted to fall on its face when it would go to 6th gear. Either way, I'd like to know the tooth count on the gears you're using... - Jared

Help ! I made a boner move
BigRed350x replied to dicedealer702's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Mix up some normal fuel and I'd just start it up and burn the junk out. LOL -
That's a good idea.

You probably won't notice any difference.

The information 1sick6 posted is just copied and pasted from another forum. The thread he took his information from is one where a guy was building a custom ratio transmission by taking gears from different yamaha transmissions and putting them on his trans. The following is what is listed in my RZ350 yamaha manual. Transmission primary ratio: 66/23, 2.869 Transmission 1st gear ratio: 32/13, 2.461 Transmission 2nd gear ratio: 29/16, 1.812 Transmission 3rd gear ratio: 27/18,1.500 Transmission 4th gear ratio: 25/20, 1.250 Transmission 5th gear ratio: 23/22, 1.045 Transmission 6th gear ratio: 22/25, 0.889 Transmission final ratio: 42/13, 3.230 Does this image look familiar 1sick6?

Not sure where you found those numbers, the old clymers manual i have for the RZ engine lists the same ratios as the banshee trans.

GET YOUR MONEY BACK! Call kevin at HJR, he can get you hooked up with a good crank.

Hey, sent you a PM... Yes, the domes will fit your pro design cool head. The compression will depend on your elevation and porting. 18cc domes usually put you up between 180-200lbs, but it really depends on where you ride and what your setup is. If you are running 114 octane fuel you will have no problems with these domes. Thanks - Jared

Still waiting on those measurements... mains, dumps, pilots, needles, needle valves. Again, what name can I give rob to reference for these carbs if I want to call him? You're giving a couple different stories in the PM's you sent me, so what's up? 2 years? 4 years? stock cylinder? big bore cylinders? From PM's: ARE U INTERSTED IN THE ALKY CARBS I HAD THESE DONE LIKE 2 YEARS AGO FROM THEM BUT IF YOU ARE INTERESTED AND CAN GET THE INFORMATION FOR YOU I DNT KNOW HOW THEY DONE IT BUT I HAVE BEEN RUNNING ALCOHOL IN THEM FOR 2 YEARS BECAUSE I WANTED THEM TO LOOK STOCK BE CAUSE I HAVE THEM ON STOCK CYLINDER BIG BORE SLEEVED BIKE Next PM: BUT THEY DONT NOT HAVE ANY POWER JETS BECAUSE I WANTED THEM TO LOOK STOCK Next PM: I'M SORRY THESE WERE SET UP LIKE 4 YEARS AGO AND BEEN ON MY SHELF LIKE 2 YEARS BECAUSE I RUN LECTRONS BUT WHEN I GO THESE DONE THEY WHERE ON MY STOCK CYLINDER BIG BORE BIKE WITH INFRAMES I ASKED HIM TO SET THESE UP TO LOOK STOCK AND RUN ALKY WITH NO POWERJETS BUT THE NEEDLES ARE SET UP SECOND FROM THE TOP THE OTHER STUFF I DNT KNW U CALL HIM AND ASK HIM F HE REMEMBERS BUT I DNT KNW HE MIGHT HAVE DONE THEM FOR SOME ONE ESLE HE JUST GAVE ME TA BUNCH OF JETS AND SAID CLL HIM BACK IF U HAD A PROBLEM AND I NEVER HAD BUT JUST CLEANING UP SUM STUFF AND ARE SELLING THESE CARBS Then I asked you to call up rob and get the details of the carbs and you responded with this... WHY DO I NEED TO CALL I IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THE CARB YOU CAN CLL YOURSELF AND ASK HIM I KNOW THEY ARE ALKY CARBS So... Again, what name can I use if I want to call rob and ask him about the carbs myself? YOU need to list the details for the items you're selling. I shouldn't have to call rob and get the information about YOUR stuff for YOU.

Stick with the stock crank and just have Kevin do his work to your crank.

Better pipes! Ditch the t5's with the drag port. Pick up some shearer pipes, CPI's, snipers, etc. Swap to methanol. Bigger carbs. Drag Axle, marvin shaws, lockup clutch, override trans, outboard bearing support.

Usually we run a taller gear, so the 6th gear isn't really missed. And usually you will know who the winner and losers are by the time you hit 5th gear. Depending on who made your duneable, they can be delicate. Ask bonbon what he did with his before it finially blew up and it will amaze you. You can down-shift them, just don't make a habit out of it, and don't try and do it if you're revved out hard.

Need Clutch Basket Badly, Have Some Parts to Trade
BigRed350x replied to bigblockbanshee's topic in Swap and Trade
Check the repairs and mods section. There are some walkthrough's over there I believe are pinned that outline how to remove the backing plate and check out your cushions. Check your cushions first, they may or may not be bad, but based on your description that is where I would start checking for problems. You can get cushions from most builders. I'd give Kevin at Herr Jugs Racing a call first and see if he carries them. - Jared -
Alky carbs without power-jets?? What name can I reference with Rob if I want to call him and get details about how he set these carbs up? Waht are the mains, dumps, pilots, needles, and needle valves set up to? I find it hard to believe rob would set up alky carbs without power-jets...
-
None of it is very hard to do. If the stock switch is good, why go to all the trouble of changing everything around. If you want to completely remove the key, just short the black wires together and the colored (believe its red and brown if I remember correctly) together.
-
First thing I would check is your flywheel. The backfire thing can come from a loose flywheel and its not spinning with the crank as it should. Check that out and get back to us and we can go from there...

It will vary from bike to bike, setup to setup, and also with altitude and how much timing advance each individual wants to run on their setup. Talk with Kevin and he will get you set up with the domes you need for what type of fuel you want to run and what performance level you want.
