  1. You can port-match the piston windows if you want. Its good for MAYBE 1-2hp. But you're weakening the pistons and increasing the risk of having a broken skirt. Port matching your cases would be a better investment of your time and materials. You can hone nikasil, but it requires a diamond hone to be done correctly. Don't go too crazy with it though, you just need a light cross-hatch on the cylinders to get the new rings seated.
  2. I would give kevin a call and ask him what would work best with what type of porting he gave you. A little bit bigger carb will almost always help a ported cylinder breathe better. If its an aggressive dune ported stock stroke I would go with some Keihin 33 PWK's. Depending on what kevin did for your porting, the CPI's would probably work pretty good for dune riding. Ask kevin about the pipes.
  3. I usually get my chain rollers from RMATV and they are always the same size. The chain spends more time on the lower roller, so I would put the bigger one there.
  4. Unplug the TORS box under the gas tank. Its on the drivers side of the bike, opposite of the coil. If it still does the bog thing after the TORS box is unplugged then you likely have another issue. When was the last time you cleaned your carbs & put fresh plugs in? Checked your compression recently?
  5. I had a set of IMS pegs, but I traded them to bonbon so he would stop breaking his giant sasquatch ankles when he climbing up the frozen snow cliffs at the dunes. LOL
  6. I would try and use a dremel with a carbide bit and just take it slow and easy and cut through the race in two places 180 degrees away from eachother. Once your almost all the way through the bearing race on both sides, use a flat-head screw drive and tap it in slowly with a hammer and the race should crack and fall into the swingarm tube where you can remove it. - Jared
  7. I would just have someone here on HQ port them. You'd have the support of a good KNOWN banshee builder. Local shops will always try and up-sell themselves and give you lots of flash and fame stories. If you go with someone on HQ you will actually know what you're going to get. I would give kevin at Herr Jugs a call. That guy can do a very hard running trail ported stock cylinder. Remember, in the banshee world you get what you pay for. Just because someone is cheaper doesn't mean better. Your local speed shop is probably just going to do a clean-up port on your cylinders. Will it run better? Yes. Will it run the best is can... no. Give Kevin a call and talk with him before you commit to having the local shop do any work. - Jared
  8. Just pick up the rectifier from a street-bike setup. They work great. Just make sure you check the wiring schematic for whichever bike you get one from so you can wire it up correctly.

I never heard that one. So, if I show up with a monster truck and start mowing down the sand-rails, its their fault for not yielding to me? mwahahaaha!
  10. Bump for a cool dude
  11. Now that gearing would be some sweet shit to see in person. I'd call it "The Bear Trap" since it would probably haggard the guys leg off in a giant pile.
  12. You'd probably be better off trying to snag a used set of ported cyls than to try and fix them if they are broken that bad. That or get a set of stock cyls and get another port job on them. ...or there's always the aftermarket. Give kevin at Herr Jugs a call, he can hook you up with any of those options. His number is in my signature.
  13. What you got thar is one of dem dang fangled deleted post type banshee thangs.
  14. I remember someone on Ebay used to sell giant piles of banshee intake gaskets. I bought pack from the guy and I'm still using them. They came in packs of 30 or something stupid like that for $15. It was a hell of a good deal and the gaskets were made from good material.
  15. spray it and run methanol and run some crazy tall gearing. 17x39 with 25" rear tire, methanol and spray it and you might get lucky to see 100mph before it blows up in your face. lol
  16. I'm still scared.
  17. I emailed and asked him for his military AFPO address in Iraq... no response.
  18. Wuz up home-slice in da hood? FAIL.
  19. Drill your gas cap vent tube out bigger. Pingle fuel valve billet bowls power jets drill dump tubes drill mains bigger pilots different needles spark plugs gapped tighter pickup coil gapped tighter alcohol domes oil that will mix with alcohol purge when you're done.
  20. Please rev more in neutral so we can diagnose the problem. lol
  21. It depends on the intake velocity and flow characteristics you are trying to achieve in the intake runner. If you want higher velocity then use the stock stuffers, if your porting and setup require a slower flow rate then go with the cascade stuffers.
  22. 9, 7, 14.2 and 119
  23. You will need the cool head shell. If you buy the cool head kit you would get the shell, extended studs, o-ring kit, and domes of your choice. - Jared
  24. I totally agree with you cam, see my reply above. I don't run the cascade stuffers on every setup, just the ones that feel like they run better with it.
  25. I don't use dyno testing. I use seat of the pants riding out on the dunes. It also depends on what youre setup is. If its a stock stroke with stock carbs I would run the stuffers that come with the reeds. If its on a 10mil small block twister then I would run the cascade stuffers. Think about the flow restriction the stock stuffers would have on a setup that wants a lot of flow. My choice would change depending on what setup I'm putting them on. On my stock stroke & 4mil dune bikes I would run the stock vforce stuffers. On a drag setup or bigger aftermarket cylinders I would run the cascade ones.
