My bad.................I was madly looking through pictures on of my bike my laptop trying to find a sight glass behind the kick starter. :yelrotflmao:

Interestingly enough I found an o-ring in the sand when I was at Glamis last year that happens to fit a Banshee pipe. At the rate I am going between Glamis and Pismo, I should be able to outfit a set of pipes in a couple years. :shoothead:

Wow..........I have never seen that. I will have to run out to the garage and look when I get home. I have always just used the dipstick. :shoothead:

There are 3.784512 liters in a gallon. Canada has it's own set of problems that I am not interested in dealing with. Washington or Oregon is where I'd like to be. I am flying up to Portland for an interview and coming back tomorrow. If I get the job I want in Portland, I'll be out of SoCal within a couple weeks. I suppose being able to do that is the beauty in being 26 years old, single, doing what I do for a living, and making alot of money. Of course it's probably also a good way to grow an ulcer at a young age.

There's a sight glass on the clutch cover?

That melted wire could be the problem. You need to buy another multimeter. They're like $15 at the autoparts store for cheap ones.............nut up.

Dude.......you are one scarey ME (assuming that you actually are one). :: Heat treating and tempering are two different things. Heat treating is not just used to make metal harder. It depends onthe what metal you are talking about as well as what heat process you are using. HEat build up guring a grinding operation can severely effect the property of the metal. Air quenching does not always get you back to your original state, just as quenching in water, oil, or salt doesn't always change material properties. Past that I won't comment on the YZF450 A-Arm swap because I am not 100% what people are doin to make them fit. I will say that the fitment of the longer Works shocks is a stupid idea and I can't figure out how it would save you any money or provide any benefit. It seems like it would be cheaper just to buy some stock Banshee shocks off eBay for $20 and use them until you get the money for whatever else you have planned. It should be a major red flag when you can't even install the shocks because they are too long. What will wind up happening if you do figure out how to install the Works shocks is that they will allow to much travel, which will eventually break you balll joints, which will happen at either full droop or full compression, either way it will probably net you a wrecked bike.

I have broken a couple FMF springs too. I will be trying the Raven springs then next time I have to buy some. I replaced the last spring I broke with a spring I found in the sand at Pismo on a previous trip.

With that Fullbore deal, didn't it wind up over on Planet Sand where some people came forward and said those pictures didn't even belong to this guy and it turned out they had been downloaded off somebody's web page? I wonder if this bike is the same deal?

Yes you need it. Otherwise you have just elimated about 1/8" of fuel that you can draw out of the float bowl. Which may allow you to run out of gas in the bowls and go lean under hard acceleration.

Billet clutch basket - 2 questions

Word. -
That's why I am looking to make an escape from California and move back up to WA or OR. A nice house that would sell for $300k in WA and be on some land, sells for 1.5 million in SoCal and the lot is barely larger than the house. I make a six figure salary, but I will not be able to afford a house that I would actually enjoy for a long time. I spent all of last year looking at houses and never found a damn thing that was worth owning. On top of all that you get your ass pounded with taxes on newer houses in SoCal, but that is only to distract you from the home owner's association that measures your lawn once a week and tells you that you can't park vehicles in the driveway. I am flying up to Portland tonight for a job interview tomorrow..................I hope I get it.

I use Type F automatic trans. fluid. It's cheap and works very well with wet clutches. I used to use regular 10w30 up until a few years ago. I never really had any trouble with either oils, but I did notice that the ATF tends to last longer. I personally think that ATF leads the inside of your motor cleaner as well. I use BelRay Gearsaver oil in my Harley, so really if you based your decision on what I use, anything other than water will work. :shoothead:

I bumped heads with Brooke every once in awhile, but atleast I always enjoyed it. Brooke is good people. Hellddiver, on the other hand, must have been suffering from mild retardation. Having a conversation wof intelligence with that guy didn't happen much. ::

I am pretty sure he has alot more going for him than you will when you're 50 years old. Atleast he has earned alot of people's respect.

Lights won't work....please help...total newb

I would definitely get a manual and a DVOM and test all the circuits. I personally have gone through two light switches on the handle bars. As soon as sand gets in there, it wears the contacts out quicker than shit. -
Generally speaking the rate at which you increase your worth is directly proportionate to the amount of risk you are willing to take. This is one of the reasons it may take me a very long time to gain any great amount of wealth.

I run a filter as my Pingel petcock doesn't have a screen in it like the factory unit does.

The only way to get rich quick is to work your ass off.

I agree. If I wind up moving back up North, I will definitely being using Engine Ice.

I agree. All of Dave's stuff is great. What do you suppose the performance advantages between the bullet and monorail frames are? I am a bit new to the aftermarket Banshee frame thing, so I have alot to learn. I was hoping to get some feedbacl from some folks that are actually running these frames.

Matching the weight of the pistons is very important in racing engines where there ary very high tolerances ans you are trying to squeeze every last once of power out of the engine. In most cases with a Banshee, it probably doesn't matter. If I were you I would replace both pistons at the same time especially since your old piston is 10 grams different from your nbew piston, which leads me to beleive that it is not in as good of shape as you think it is.

Seriously............no one? ::

I think what he means is that water transfers heat much more efficiently than ethyl glycol, thus water + water weeter could technically be better if you didn't have to worry about cold temperatures. I personally run water wetter and DI water in my bikes, but I live in SoCal where it doesn't freeze. I choose to do this for a couple of reasons, the first being that water wetter was the first mainstream product like this that came out and I have been using it since it came out. The second being that I read the label on a bottle of engine ice once and I remember seeing something that I didn't like, although I cannot remeber what it was. I may give engine ice a shot the next time I have to drain the cooling system.
