It's probably somebody from a local cycle shop or something along those lines. If they run good, I wouldn't put much more thought into the subject. If they run crappy, then I would be looking to see if one of the bigger name folks around the country could possibly fix them.

If they had the urban camo with some red in it, I might consider buying a set just for entertainment pruposes.

I didn't order it, but I did look into it. I have a pretty good idea of what Elka did when they designed this product. I suspect tha they moved the pivot point where the shock attaches ot the linkage down and back. This effectively increases the motion ratio of the suspension. The only real problems I see with this is that it may lower your ride height and make your linkage hang down quite a bit farther below your swingarm. Besides that, I am pretty sure that you will always need a longer and differently valved shock. The shock valving is the thing that I don't really know that much about. I understand the concept, but doubt that I could figure out what the shock needed to perform properly without alot of trial and error. If you wanter to a linkage, I would be happy to model and make prints for a couple things that I think might work. The other thing we would have to come up with is a shock that will work for the application, preferably off of another ATV. If we can find a shock that mounts to the frame without an modification and is a couple inches longer, then I can work to accomodate it into the linkage. Do you know how long any of the newer 450 shocks are?

If I were doing the work, it wouldn't matter to me if the valves were there or not. You should probably take them out to avoid damage though. It really will all boil down to the preference of the person doing the work.

I am pretty sure you are not selling it anywhere. The folks on Planet Sand seem to not think much of you either. You may want totake up another occupation besides scamming people, cuz you kinda seem to suck at it. :shoothead:

The larger Mikuni's aren't that popular on here. Maybe try www.planetsand.com.

It's a scam! The guy has setup the escrow service himself. What he will do is place the money in the account, you will mail the item, the escrow service will cease to exist, and you'll be SOL. ::

I will agree with you in regards to the regular camoflauge as utility quads, but the urban camo is retarded as well.
-
Since you have to buy their shock to work with the linkage, when I was looking at it, it cost about $1300. to my door.

I'll tell you the same thing that I told one of the shop guys at work when he showed up with them on his motorcycle. "I always thought you were gay, but now I know for sure."

I will need to call HS Customs next week and see what they think about my project. I really like their modfied bodywork and seat that goes with their frames.

He's right. You will need to order the proper jets for you particular carbs. I cannot tell you what jets you will need as I am not very familiar with the aftermarket Mikuni carbs. I do know that if you don't have aftermarket pipes on it now, the larger carbs could simply be the reason that it doesn't run properly. Your symptoms seem to be pretty much in line with that as well.
-
Your stock carbs will work fine until you come up with something else. You will not need to worry about the hurting anything or having the carbs not be big enough to make the motor run. Of course I am also the guy that has gone to retardedly great lengths to keep the stock carbs no matter what. If you are really into that sort of thing, you cane bore the carbs larger, machine the slide are to use larger slides from a different carb, and you can get large float bowls.......................... The above really isn't worth your time unless you just want to be different. A set of 33mm or 35mm Keihin PWK's are probaly what you will end up with.

I remember who Woodsy was. You would always seem in commercial during the Saturday morning cartoons. I am definitely not that old........................I think someone may just have been living under a rock.

I pretty sure I don't want to know what you were looking for when you found that. :yucky:

You're probably going to need to pull the clutch cover off and see whats going on in there. It sounds like a messed up clutch ball to me.

hp difference between t-5's and cpi's
FireHead replied to motocrossrider68's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
It really depends on how and where you ride. The Toomey's may or may not perform better in your application. -
A good aftermarket clutch kit in a billet basket ought to hold up without any trouble in your situation. If you were in the sand, I would say that you might want to look into one.

Back to the topic at hand.....................post come pictures up of the cylinders. I personally have never heard of Woodsy. Then again, if you come across a set of cylinders with the Skoal Bandit logo on them, I ported them.

Like I think I said before, I talked to Janssen last month about these things when I needed to replace the upper-outers on my arms. They don't provide any more travel than their previous heims that were made by Aurora. The benefit of these joints is that they seal a bit better than the rubber booty design. I really don't know what Sanddragon2004 was talking about. After I did a little asking around, pretty much nothing he said was even kind of true. :shoothead:

Measure you bike and figure out where the pivot points are in relation to each other. Then sketch and extrude bars in place of thos pivot points. Then once you understand how the suspension moves you can start jacking around the dimensioins on the different suspension components until you find something you like.

I usually true my cranks up on our balancer. It's pretty much the most accurate tool for balancing and trueing an engine rotation assembly that you could possibly buy. I think we spent about $300k on it a few years ago. It's really designed for the aerospace industry and is overkill for pretty much everything. The company who makes the things had only sold like 5 of the machines, total. If I were doing a friend's crank or something I was just going to blow up on the dyno, I would do the method I mentioned with the lathe.

I am not sure what's funnier, Woodsy the owl for BigRed's reaction to Woodsy. :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao:

http://www.trinityracing.com/index.html Not hard to find. :shoothead:

That's probably good advice. Trinity is not bad if you deal with them in person, but I would never let them work on my bike and I always know what I am after when I go there.
