  1. Holeshot XCR's are great and wear well. The only bad thing with shredders is they tend to wear out fast, I had a set a few years ago and replaced them at the end of one season.
  2. A shaved head is a great mod for woods/trails and not expensive. Also V-force reed cages, and some better tires. Skidplates are a must on trails and a set of pipes. For woods Paul Turner mids are great! Don't forget an airfilter and plate, a steering stabilizer is nice also.
  3. I mounted mine on the frame just above the shock. It kind of angles in toward the front but it works. The res hose faces forward. I purchased a set of K&K atv billet shock res mounts and looks sweet! A little pricey though, also you have to trim the front nose plastic a little for them but WTF!
  4. C'mon matt, I seen that new red chevy, I know who's got the cash! Or does the wife have you on a allowance? That silver lake dunefest might not be a bad idea! Maybe around may? I know I could get some people in on this!
  5. All the above are good advice, try taking a couple of aspirin an hour before the race, it thins the blood and lessens arm pump. I have also tried a sportscream on my forearms but did not work for me. Mainly breathe, loosen the grip, and try not to push 100% the entire race. I'm 31 and race mainly with 18-24 yr. olds, I am smarter about lines and anticipating their moves but they have more stamina. I have found that if I ride about 85% the first 3 laps I have some reserve left to push it at the end. Stay away from wieght training during the mx season, I talked to Tim Farr and Doug Gust at a race one day and they told me only work with wieghts during off time, you will be building muscle that requires more blood and oxygen. Goodluck!
  6. I couldn't tell you which type is better but I have the triple stone type, just attach it to a drill, put some oil on the stones and cylinders and do a up/down till it has a nice smooth finish. Make sure you at least put new rings on for a good seal.
  7. I'd say detenation, You are probably not using enough octane, try better gas by using higher octane.
  8. What do you mean tube in center? Do you mean the core? Do you have packing in there?
  9. Thanks for not "picking on me" for not going in to full detail on that boon!
  10. Wallrat, may I suggest that you have it powdercoated instead? I know it is more money but well worth it. Paint will be rubbing off in no time and all that work will be wasted, spend the extra $ and have it done once and forget it. Mine has lasted a few years now and only showing wear on bottom, abd we all know nothing will stay there since it takes all the abuse. I think mine cost about $180-200.
  11. If you take the inner seals out of the carrier then grease can get to them and it is a good idea if sticking with the stock carrier. Just make sure you put the zerk in a place that won't get hit, like on top.
  12. Hey tittyhead! How fast can that car go when HE'S NOT PULLING YOUR ARSE WITH A ROPE? Or did you beep your horn to pass?
  13. Pick away boon, I can take it! I hope to meet you if I make it to the dunes.
  14. I believe passionre, he is very good. I haven't had any problems for years on doing this but if he say's not good idea, I believe him.
  15. I have used the PRO-X pistons for years and love them, that doesn't mean others aren't good though.
  16. I totally agree with ultimateduner, if you take the packing out you will lose power and most important it will be louder, that is why we lose riding places! Repack with good silencer packing, get the power back and keep the nieghbors happy.
  17. Throw some 27.5 pilots in and turn the airscrews out 1.5 turns, and call us back in the morning!
  18. You will be fine with the T6's, I had them on mine just a few weeks ago but had to switch back to the T5's, they worked great but I had a bad night of poker so I had to switch them back for my T5's. I traded with a friend awhile a go but he wanted them back after I owed him some $$$$$ after the game! Gamblers money ain't got no home!
  19. Have you tried adjusting the pointer on the clutch arm with the case arrow or just the adjuster at clutch perch?
  20. I use Barnett, but ebc and others are good. Soak the fiber plates in the tranny fluid for at least a few hours (if not all night) before you install them.
  21. Don't forget bearings! Swingarm, axle carrier, front wheels, steering stem, and maybe a new clutch? How about the cables? Throttle, and clutch. Just a few more items to check out.
  22. For a long lasting finish go with powder coating, I had my frame,a-arms, and swingarm all done last winter and only the bottom of the frame is showing wear and I ride in gravel pits, trails, tracks etc.
  23. I forgot prices! In the order of above. $500+, 60, 250(4), 40, 80, 15, 1000+(3), 300, 500, 150, 300, 120, fun in beating your buddies ass's all the time......priceless!
  24. Pipes, handlebars, tires, TORS eliminator kit, airfilter/adapter, parking brake block off, shocks, axle, A-arms, braided brake lines, replacement head, bumpers, hell I can spend all of your money for ya if you give me a chance and idea of what type of riding you want to do!
  25. Timmy301: Hell ya! Let me know and some of my friends will meet you there. bri98: I go to Haspin about 3 times a year, so I'm familiar with it. There are quite a few IN/IL riders on here, we need to get a group ride together!
