  1. Spend the extra $$$ and get it powder coated. Lasts much longer than paint and can get in a lot of colors. May try to match the red case covers?
  2. Get a Prodesign $60-70. I have had mine for years and never a problem.
  3. Agreed, but if we had places to go some people wouldn't have to ride illegally. It does hurt us and give us a bad rap but if there is no place to ride it is hard to just look at you machine and not ride it. I don't condone illegal riding but I have done it in the past so can't give them too much shit.
  4. Thanks for adding the links Matt, I was going to do that but forgot. To tell people about the terrain: Badlands has pea gravel dunes, wooded trails, hillclimbs, a few gravel/sand pits, about anything you might like. Haspin has mostly wooded trails all over the place, they intersect every 10' it seems like, good hillclimbs in woods, 1 long moto track and a small one, and a drag strip (hard sand/dirt). Silver Lake is of course dunes but not real big, it is hard to get in like someone said and can be jerks about spark arresters/db limits, just depends on there mood that day. I vote for Haspin myself just because they are laid back, no flags, camping anywhere, and no rules on alcohol or night riding. It would be a great place to party! Everybody park in the same area and have a fire to talk shit and bench race! I will post directions in the future but Attica is near 28/41 just east of Illinois, Haspin is off 52 SE of Indianapolis and Silver Lake is a little N of Grand Rapids Michigan off of 31.
  5. Definately raise compression, either mill head or coolhead, then go with V-force reeds. It looks like we all pretty much agree on the next mods.
  6. I would check the impeller 1st. Make sure it is in good shape and it turns with the engine, I have seen the pin break in a banshee before and the impeller just sits there, not moving.
  7. To make sure you don't scratch the chrome, polish the area with chrome polish and the use your fingernail to scratch the melted crap off. It may take a few minutes but it will not scratch the pipes.
  8. If you mean the Pro-Flow from Prodesign, no. I'm not sure on the other types of adapters.
  9. TCS, Total Control Suspension (909)-245-7484
  10. If we can get enough people interested in this I will try to help arrange it. I can get at least 5-10 friends for this and I'm sure you guys can to. We will see what the poll shows and that is where it will be, dates will have to wait so we can see what will be easier for most people to attend. If you have any questions about what type riding is at each place post here or PM me. For those that can't do the Dumont trip, this is a constelation trip! Let's have a big banshee ride/party!
  11. It is more south and east, in a small town called Laurel, IN. It is a good place to go, about the same size as Badlands.......maybe bigger. Trails all over the place! Some good hill climbs, motox tracks(2) and a dragstrip! I say we get a midwest roostfest going this spring/summer.
  12. I go to Wayne National Forest once or twice a year, I used to live in Fairborn, OH when I was in the Air Force.
  13. I love the oury large waffle grips, soak up vibes and feel great!
  14. I have always loved the 250R, I used to race alot in district 15/17 but I went into the airforce and didn't find too many tracks close to where I was stationed. I raced a few in Ohio but time and Uncle Sam didn't cooperate. Got rid of the race bike in 92 and went without until I got out in 95. I looked at a few 250R's and couldn't find one good enough so a friend let me ride his new banshee w/toomey's. THAT WAS IT! I was hooked and bought a new one the next day! So far I have owned a 95,97,98,2000,and now a 2002. I have never regretted switching so far but might buy a YFZ or 450R for my next quad. I will always have the king of speed!
  15. I don't have one but a friend has it on his YFZ450, he say's it works awesome.
  16. I think 280 in winter might be a little lean, maybe 290-300 and 280 in summer. The stock pilot will probably be fine, try it first and see, if needs more, go to a 27.5 before a 30.
  17. go for a ride and do a plug check. That will tell you more than we could. Let us know where it is bogging and we will help.
  18. I would start at 280, I am guessing that since you said the snorkel was removed you are running a lid. Needle in the 3rd clip from bottom and keep the pilot. Don't make too many changes at once or you will have a time figuring out what is wrong. If it seems doggy on the bottom after the changes go up to a 27.5. Remember, do a plug reading after jetting to make sure it's burning good.
  19. I agree, the main needs to be more like a 340, everything else sounded OK.
  20. Yes, mostly woods, so many trails that it is confusing! 2 motoX tracks and a dragstrip. Let me know if anyone on here wants to go sometime.
  21. Sweet and expensive, I think you can pick from a couple different engines. The front suspension is set up so that it never gets bumpsteer, the tires stay the same camber all the way through the travel. Bad ass quad, wish I had $11,000 to throw away at it.
  22. Get the jetting right and you might be happy with the dynoport.
  23. I agree with banchetta except for the 30 pilot, I would start at 27.5 w/airscrew 1.5-2 turns out. If the response off the bottom isn't good go in on the screws, if it gets better the more in you go then try a 30.
  24. You are supposed to move the spring on the hose so it will be between the pipe and hose. Just move it to the desired position and put a zip-tie at the end so it doesn't move.
  25. I don't have a denton but a muscle from magic racing. I imagine it mounts about the same, mine mounts on the front just behind the bumper where there is a cross brace with holes in it. And the other end goes around the steering shaft.
