    Builders Race

oh wow didnt know that. man that sucks.. its been a while since i looked at the race schedules at PS> in my humble opinion!! i think there should be ONE forum that is just for track numbers and results. that EVERY track could upload their top performers and possibly pictures of the bikes and the race schedules.. that would be nice..

thought planet sand ran 2 events each year one on louisiana and the west coast shootout or some thing like that??? just went over an looked seen this how long ago was that? 2 years? Planet Sand Drags-May 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th 7th 2011 there seems to be an event in 2013 coming up also. i dont really watch or even care that much. i'm not a track racer nor am i trying to set records. i personally thought it was hilarious that menz's 400 could smoke bikes nearly twice the cc...
  3. i would say the hq ride IS the honeymoon.. wont be the same without you brotha!
  4. yup see no reason to go into why i do it..
  5. 28-36mm lectrons gas. reuse the oem airbox and have a good filter setup in it. if the weather gets really bade its very quick to change jetting and if needed replace the airbox lid.
  6. you cannot replace just he cusions on a stock basket unless you are pretty inventive. ( yes i have done it) BUT the billet is the way to go. grind off the heads, knock them out remove the gear reinstall with the new billet. after you get the basket it should be pretty easy to tell how it works. the clymer wont show aftermarket parts they a re only for OEM repairs and replacement.
  7. best little sahara trips have been the last couple hq rides. bad weather but all the fun makes up for it cruise in the morning and drag race in the afternoon.
  8. you need to check piston to wall clearance. intake explosions on the piston indicate piston rock. from to much piston wall clearance.
  9. welp to answer the actual question yes you can split the exhaust and remove the insulaters inside of it.
  10. there is a reason you should pony up for oem parts when you can. the aftermarket is cheaper but there is always a reason for it. nice post!
  11. stock throttle cable wont open to far yes your right the plastic part in the middle is too short buy a longer cable,. the torrs cabe ( for the tops) center section is a lil longer. you might be able to switch them out i ahve done that before.

thats an idear. why not have a bansheehq drag race also. you could have a "first annual" and have classes and then post up fastest on the HQ on its own page.. what fun! plus i KNOW noone would get "banned" for having an opinion on this site. i am sure any of the tracks in or around missouri, ks area would love to hold one. i'd vote holeshot dand drags in eldorado. i think a lot more from oklahoma area would be able to go easier. and its kinda in the middle.

wow this is amazing.. i think i rember holeshot 'n just about everyone at the last hq ride multiple times and i weigh 280+ lbs, have a motor that is on its 6th season, and is sapposivley an "outdated" design.. no matter what you all know i'll be at the hq ride riding my own bike and having a hell of a time with my friends. if you want to make it "fair" take that damn wheelie bar off.. run a real "dune" bike.. i totally understand using a "jockey" at a track if you are at a level where you are a bike owner there is nothing wrong with that. those races are for setting records that as far as i know NOONE outside of the atv industry even cares about.. if i was chasing a number OR was concer'nd about how my motor/ chassis combo looked to the industry through the net i would definatley be building a differnt motor combo and using a jockey.. in my opinon i think its not who can build the fastest bla bla bla its who can make the bike DO what the customer wanted.. what they were looking for in a bike ( rider, dunner, trail bike, drag race track race etc) and to ME personally reliability.. including hot lap ability. every couple of years since i can rember peep's tried getting a "builders race" going they never were very conclusive even the ones at the tracks we used to do "smooth drag days" and those were a LOT of fun. had a long strip that was grommed and one flagger with 2 "red light" dudes and 2 dudes at the end to decide winner. we all met up at like noon or some shit and went out and had fun. i think we all threw 10 bucks in a hat and divided it up at the end to the top 2 racers. i might still have some pictures of it. there was also an old issue od sand sport that had some really great pictures of one of the events.
  16. you need an outlaw banshee i need a triple cyl....
  17. wish he'd have sold it to me darn..
  18. chris is an all rightty dude.
  19. sweet ! when i get a chance i will give you a call.
  20. buy a REALLY good chain. dont buy sidewinder chains they suck. its really easy here.. if you have stock to pipes HP jt's will work ok. more power you will need better sprokets. my drag bike will shred a JT rear in a day at the dunes. same sproket from sidewinder has lasted 4 years no problems no wear. if the PBI is a better brand and will hold up i would try those also. sunstar is one of the better well know reasonably priced brand/. come one please no EBAY china imported shit. please?? and you get what you pay for.
  21. try a bunch of differnt bits and try some diamond style. its tricky i really dont like porting on a nick'd cyl but a lot of the time nobody wants to pay for the plating to be striped then ported then cleaned up after plating. it is the ideal way to do it tho.. those big ass double cut bits on a air die grinder will chatter and bounce around then chip the alluminum under the plating (and the plating goes bye bye) takes practice and experience. re worked 4 cyls for myself before i felt ok with it.
  22. NICE!
