  1. There is no comparison between the 85-86 LT250s and the later ones. That LT500 engine would have helped though.
  2. That would be what he is talking about. I have wanted to go since the first one, but I can never make it. They should race on the smooth hill instead of the whoops. I wonder who is going to be top dog this year? Sparks' 11 year old won last year.
  3. I have seen an '86 ATC R that threw a chain and caused a hole just as you are describing. The case save kept it from busting the stator case, but didn't keep it from breaking it below the shifter. We JB'd it shut.
  4. The hole is probably from the chain breaking or coming off. Typical of R's. It would be much better than the quadracer. They suck if you ask me. Look carefully at the frame. '86's were bad about cracking if they have been jumped very much. R's have became cheap due to the new 450's. You can now pick them up ready to ride for about $1500.
  5. Thats cool but if your deal doesn't work out, I have that one for $75.
  6. I have one. Its a good crank, but one of the rods is bad!!! It would be cheap $20. I also have one from a '99 model. The kid blew it up in 2001 and it set with the topend off in a shed for about a year. I pulled it to build a stroker. It isn't rusty or anything, but there is a little grit in it that would need to be cleaned out. The bearings seen fine. I would like $75 for it. If you get it and don't like it, send it back but I can't really guarantee it in an engine.
  7. I am not an expert. But I am good at guessing and since you post things like this on here: I am sure you said something equally impressive over there.
  8. I am on PS just as much or more than the HQ. They really have nothing in common. PlanetSand is about all out performance and going fast (Triple cylinders, mono-blocks, 20-30mm strokers, etc). For the most part a set of CPI's, 34's, and a shaved head is considered high performance here. I have never seen anyone banned from PS that didn't deserve it.
  9. Not really. Here in MO all you have to do scratch off the serial, tell them you built the trailer at home and get a "homebuilt" title then license is no problem. I "know people" who bought new trailers at dealerships then filed for a homebuilt title to keep from having to pay sales tax.
  10. It has the plate also. Like I said, its the early style plugs. I haven't used this stator, but I don't see anything wrong with it other than it isn't the cleanest (rusty from water behind the cover like most banshees). Give me $50 shipped and if it doesn't work, I'll buy it back.
  11. Unloading my AK on something is nowhere near as fun as dropping it from 500+yds with my new 204 RUGER. I take more pride in the clean shot. Some of my friends would rather take your approach though. I say its just a rabbit, they are everywhere this year. I drop every squirrel I find around my yard. Led, throw them cats off a bridge and try to hit them when they pop their heads up for air !!!!! Just kidding.
  12. We can buy clear fuel and then get a tax break on it for the farm. I ends up a little higher than dyed fuel, but way cheaper than full road tax. $2.19 a gallon was the highest I had to pay. It dropped to $1.60 for about 2 days last week. Its back up to about $1.90. I could by taxed fuel at the station for $.79 when I was in high school about 6 years ago. Pimp, I get 14MPG LOADED (I have crossed the DOT's portable scales at 31,330lbs on 18,000 plates in my '96. OOOOPS.) with my '96 and '97 PSD's, my '99 is about 16. My cousins 6.0L PSD 6 speed is about 24 empty and he hasn't really pulled much to check the loaded MPG. When I drive our '92 and earlier non-turbo trucks I am amazed that I once thought they were powerful . Ford was supposed to release a V-6 diesel for the 1/2 tons a couple years ago. It didn't work out. I think the fact that they can't keep enough of the PSD's on the lot was part of the reason.
  13. I've got a couple. All good and working. Would you like a black one from an early banshee or a silver from a later one? I haven't priced one, what are they worth?
  14. Drop that damn main jet down and you won't need so lean of a needle. CGL needles, 50 pilots, 155-165 mains depending on temp.
  15. Banshee PVL- $300 shipped. I bought it from a guy and I have seen the bike run before. He went to stock ignition because he wasn't happy with the light flywheel for TT racing. I have not personally ran this ignition, but I'll send it to you and if it don't work you don't own it. FMF SST's-- $250 shipped. Average to good condition. Very few hours but the bike had sit in weather a little. Brand new UFO blue front and rear plastic-- $200 +shipping Brand new UFO white front plastic-- $100 +shipping Also, I have a set of reinforced ITP wheels that are brand new. Fronts are 10X5, rears are 10X8. The fronts have the clover leaf design, rears are a solid circle but you can't really tell the difference. These wheels are very expensive new. I would like $400 shipped out of them. I also have a set of YELLOW factory wheels with excellent tires on them. $150 shipped??? I also have a couple of early wiring harnesses, a couple '97 up CDI's, early stator, stock heads, etc.
  16. YFZ's are easier to ride, maintain, and they actually handle stock. I have MANY dollars in suspension mods on my banshee and it can't handle as well as a stock YFZ. Plus on the banshee, OPEN class is all you can run. You can run 3-4 classes on a YFZ.
  17. Banshee Worx has done 2 flywheels for me with quick turn around and they look awesome. His login is "bdbanshee". His new email is [email protected]. I have never seen boonman's mods, they could be equally impressive.
  18. The bridged exhaust would help if the bore size was larger. You can almost open the exhaust on a stock sleeve untill it hits the transfers. I would think you would have to weld in some aluminum on the backside of the bridge for support and as a heat sink. It looks to me like that bridge would be easy to crack if it gets hot.
  19. The rockets made 2HP more in the midrange than my CPI's. For trail riding I would say they would be better than CPI. I couldn't get the stock springs stretched that far.
  20. Ducman, you wouldn't happen to know a good book on the theory of relativity do you? We never talked about it in school and I have only picked up on the basics, but I want to read up on it. I just haven't been able to find any books about it. Also, are you on 1000RR.net? I think I remember seeing a Ducati owner on there called "Ducman".
  21. What was the part number for the crank? H129 should be a 4mm longrod.
  22. I trail ride at 15/41 with a stock engine. My ported 350 trail bike also runs a 15/41. Its a good gearing and lets you stay in the midrange better. I run 16/39 on my passion stroker for TT racing.
  23. All the banshee engines are the same. One year had a different front sprocket. Not much will interchange from other bikes. About all I can think of is the rear caliper. Not the mounting plate, just the caliper itself. Quite a few bikes use it including the Z-400/KXF. ATC200X hubs will work and they have a 4/110 pattern like hondas and the Z/KXF. Mojave/Tecate hubs will work also with a 4/156 pattern (same as the '89 banshee rear). The only front wheels I know of that will work are mojave/tecate and polaris. Banshee and warrior are the only rears I know of with the 4/115 pattern. Blaster axles will fit (about 2" narrower) but you must use a blaster brake hub. The sprocket hub to use R sprockets are aftermarket pieces designed just for that. That's all I know of other than what was mentioned.
  24. Well, a day is not "exactly" 24 hours long. Its actually a few milliseconds longer anyway. I have read that every 12,000 years (may not be exact since its been 7-8 years since I read this) we will gain a day. Maybe the few milli seconds we are slow will make it right.
  25. I would recommend staying away from the TM's. I have ran them because I also had a lot of jets and needles. I the tried the 34PJ's and loved them. With the keihins, you only need one needle and a couple jet sizes to get it right. The same jetting and needle works with 34PJ's or 35PWK's. Your clamp-ons won't clear with the rockets? The rockets I tried had a lot more room than the CPI's in that area. Put some more gear under that thing. It can take it. It will actually do better under a little more load. Try a 15 tooth, you'll like it.
