  1. An "aggressive woods port" that turns 56HP isn't worth more than $225. The people that have the X motors didn't have them built until the end of last season. They are just now starting to get them on the track. There isn't very many of the X's out yet. The ones that are aren't the high HP time bomb version that Jim has talked about. They are still in design. As far as I know, Jim NEVER stated he already had engines turning 120HP. He simply said that is what he is expecting.
  2. Alright, the last time I discussed the X-motor I will be getting from Jim (which will be the highest HP version), he said some of the parts are in the process of design. Some items will have to be custom made. Jim has been very busy and hasn't had time to get the design work done. As for Passion being talked about on PS, Jim mainly builds trail, MX, TT, and ST engines. Most PS members have no interest in these types of engines. The builders you all mentioned have been building engines for years. Jim has only been in the banshee world for 2-3 years. He is trying to make a statement with the X-motors. By the way, how many times do the hear the name of the allmighty "Eric Gorr" on Planetsand. I don't believe I ever have.
  3. I just called a local tranny shop who I know well. He said $5-600 will get you a new converter, rebuild, and should cover any other new parts that are needed.
  4. As I said, BET is an awesome track that everyone should run at least once. Its big and very fast. Some of the toughest competetion I have ever ran against. Its fun and requires a lot of balls to keep gaining speed around it. I have only ran it once, but hope to make it a couple times this year. I ran the ST at St. Clair 2 years ago and it was the slickest track I have ever been on. Decent size but was like running on wet smooth concrete. If anyone likes hillclimbing, BET has one of the wickedest hills I have seen. BET also has quite a few harescrambles each year if I remember correctly.
  5. PM me a price on the AMP link and the stabilizer. I have a set of virgin stock cylinders we can work a trade with.
  6. 700R4 for a grand! That's high for what tranny work costs around here. My E4OD rebuild was just over $1000 and that was with a high dollar roller converter, all new planetary's, every bearing new, etc. Where are you located?
  7. Yeah....Dodge's have great transmissions . Wanna put a 4 speed in it? I have one of those! Do you still have the C4? They are cheap to have rebuilt. A local shop rebuilt one for me for $200 with shift kit and some heavier bands. It was a bench job (I pulled the tranny and took it to him).
  8. Trinity's pipes suck. Rockets will defintly make more mid. For drag I would look to shearers. I just dynoed a set vs. my CPI's and they performed better.
  9. I have a new +10 GRR swingarm that is chromed and comes with a freshly chrome stock carrier with new bearings. $500 shipped
  10. The powervalves stick closed, common problem. I think Trinity is about the only builder that even puts PV's in the Cheetahs anymore. Pull the springs out and leave them out. Leave the rest of the PV parts in there. Is 130PSI with the throttle open while he is kicking it over? The throttle should be open. I think 200 is a little high. 155-160 would be perfect. My buddies 400 is turning right at 90 on a low reading dyno. That is with CPI out of frames, and a good set of carbs well tuned. I am busting 80HP with inframes on race gas 4mm Passion Racing stock cylinders on the same dyno. If you all are turning low 80's, pull your junk-ass pipes off and put on a set of CPI's. I have personally seen an 8HP difference in Trinity pipes and CPI's with a better power curve to boot.
  11. I know of a 5mm stroker. You don't have to trench cases if you clearance the rod. 4mm is a lot easier to find, cheaper, and makes the same power.
  12. Unless its a large track, the 450 will hand your banshee its ass with a 350 motor so why go smaller.
  13. Waiting for him also? One of us will be on the victory lap waiting for YOU to cross the finish line .
  14. "pistons seemed a little small" There is a mm or more gap all the way around. Look at the right side piston (piston on left in the picture). They didn't even chamfer the ports.
  15. The 350X transplant would be the easiest swap. Powroll still makes the kit to do it. I have a BB 250X engine for sale. 273cc, 10.5:1 compression, fresh topend, oversize valves, Powroll billet steel cam, RD springs, FTZ ported. Complete engine for sale PM me if interested.
  16. That's what I like about you Jack, you're a funny motherfocker! You had better find a way to transplant that Blackhawk engine into that banshee if you want to run with us . The worst part is after I lay the (insert Bitchslap smilie here) on you, you'll have to tell everyone you were beat by a fat boy . Its all good. I don't mind with a loser .
  17. NEVER buy a K&N puller. I have stipped a couple. Spend the extra couple of bucks and get a Motion Pro.
  18. I agree 34PJ's or 35 PWK's would be much better. I don't think they even make a single carb setup for the cheetahs. The cheetah's use the CR intakes. Ditch the PV's. Pull the springs out and see if that helps. I have seen the PV's sticking and it causes the problem you are talking about. A 4mm stock cylinder can easily turn the power of the 400 trinity cheetah. I am running inframes on gas and am less than 10HP less than a friends 400 cheetah with out of frames and alky.
  19. You can't tell a difference in clutch pull with a lockup.
  20. PIR is the only track I have been on that you get to use all 6 of the gears you paid for . Very fun track because their is actually more than one racing line that you can run. Most other tracks are follow the leader. Why wait for the nationals? PIR will run a few times this season. I haven't seen the schedule yet but the first race is usually early-mid april.
  21. I sold a set of stock front fenders on ebay for $40. Shipping to CA from MO was $82 through fedex and $121 through UPS. I thought that was rediculous.
  22. If you do the quick change, spend the few extra bucks and get a lock-up also. Direct Drive makes some of the best looking polished quick change covers and lock-ups. Buddy Deville of southern style racing is selling the direct drive setup that includes a brand new yamaha cover that is polished, modded for the quick change, with a kick ass looking clear cover and the lockup for $400.
  23. Pro-circuits are a top end pipe? Have you ever ran a set? PC's are awesome for trail riding because as was said, the power is very linear. They don't FEEL as fast as other pipes because they don't have a sudden hit, but in most cases the bike will be faster due to added midrange.
  24. Don't you know that all ford keys are the same? Just find another ford vehicle and try their key. The key for the 88 taurus we used to have would unlock my mom's 96 marquis, our 92 F250, and my friends 85 F150. This actuallys works a lot more often than you would think.
  25. Sikeston Race Park (SRP) is big alright. 6/10th of a mile. Its definetly not smooth or fast, and it is pretty much just sand. Its a TT only course that is nothing but turns. He has attempted to make a half-ass ST, but it will be small also if they even run it. The corners really have no banking because your are not going fast enough to need it. If you go, don't run American racers. Most people run Tri-tracs.
