Hey man I'm in Edmonton... not too far away... we should be able to hook up.
-
It all depends on how much money you are willing to spend... of course the more you spend the better your ride will be. The most expencive would be new custom built shocks all round and extended a-arms, and of course there are more and less expencive of both of those as well. To save some money you can get your rear shock rebiult intead of getting a new one. You can also go with YFZ 450 shocks for the front. The cheapest of all would be to keep your stock a-arms, just change the front shocks and keep the rear shock as is. The stock rear shock is not nearly as bad as the stock front shocks, and it has quite a bit of adjustment. All of these options would greatly improve the ride over stock.. some more than others. So it all comes down to how much money you have to spend.

http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=51956 I have them and they work great... only thing is the Sanddragon site is down.. says they are under new management.. there is a phone # you can call. When I got mine and delt with Andy service was great and the quality is top notch... they are suposedly made by the same place as Janssen arms... I would definately recommend them, but who knows what will happen with the new management... hope they stay good.

I have the Sanddragon arms which are made by the same guys as Janssen and they are awesome. I am running Elka shocks off a 450 and they work great. The Jannsen and Sanddragon arms are suposedly the same. I would definately recomend them. You can get them made with the shock mount moved out to fit the longer 450 shock. It also gives you more travel than the stock length Banshee shock.

nope.. all stock... went to a stroker

got a 01 crank... came out of running engine... $150.00 obo

Hey man don't let it get to ya... they're prbably just jealeuos you're riding at 15... I know I wish I had a banshee at that age... I didn't get my first one till I was 31. It doesn't matter how old you are banshee's rock... and good luck with you're project. It's good to see a kid these days with a bit of ambition to try and work for the things you want.

Instead of going over it all agian there were a couple threads about the whole bump steer/long travel issue a while back... http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...topic=44677&hl= http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...topic=49000&hl= My a-arms are not long travel but I get just over 11 inches of travel with 450 shocks and Sanddragon's a-arms with the mounts moved out to allow them to use their full lenght. They work awesome with no noticeable bump steer, but the long travel are supose to get 13 inches travel so that may make a difference. I have never rode an LT setup so I can't say.
-
Oh oh... not the dump steer issue....
-
I dropped about 20 deg.

OK this I am sure of cause I just bought a pair of front rims a couple weeks ago... 4x1 is 4 inches in and 1 out... this is the narrowest 3x2 is 3 inches in and 2 out... 1 inch wider per side or 2 total 2x3 is 2 inches in and 3 out... 2 inches wider per side or 4 total That was according to the cataloge at the shop I bought them from, but it didn't say what was the stock offset... We assumed the narrowest, which is the 4x1, was stock so I bought the 3x2 to get a little extra width. I haven't mounted them yet so I can't measure them... So I would still like to know what is the stock offset??? sorry to take over your topic OnlyA2Stroke....
-
Is the stock offset 3x2... I thought it was 4x1....
-
What do you do about the original holes??? How do you plug them easily... I was thinking of doing that but I was gona get the original holes welded up.
-
I went with just a Barnet cluch and a lock-up... probably cheaper than all that Hinson stuff and a nice soft clutch pull to boot..
-
I've never used Hinson but they are supose to be pretty good so I would imagine that should be just fine... they cost enough they should work.
-
The stock paint on the frames come off pretty easy... if you worry about it you'll be touching it up every time you ride...lol.. If you wana get serious about it strip it down and get it powder coated... other wise a little automotive touch up paint.. but you better get lots...
-
Ya you'll need to do something..lol I put on a lock-up... I got all my stuff from K&T Performance. Great guys to deal with... you should give them a call. Thay are also big into T-Rex and Cubs. If you tell them what you want to do with it they will help you get set up with whatever you need.
-
Not too sure about speed....don't have a speedo.. but when we ride in the ditches on the hiway we blow by cars like nothin...but that's all up yo your gearing. I use the stock 14, 42 with 22 inch tires and ya the pic is with Turf Tamers but I have 4 sets of tires and rims depending on where we are riding. A +6 swinger should work great for climbing. I have a +5 on mine and it works good. I have no problem doin rainbows and sliding the ass end out. We go down to St. Anthonys in Idaho once a year to hit the big dunes but we have some smaller stuff around here as well, so I ride sand quite a bit too.

I have the 485 Cheetah pv with just touch up porting and I love it. It's basicly the same as the 482... I think it's just a little bigger bore. I don't know why they changed it but what ever... IT ROCKS... I've never had it on a dyno but I had a drag ported 420 big bore before this and even with no porting this 485 kicks it's ass hands down. What I like the most is it has soooo much power all the way through the rpm's. Power valves are awesome... it pulls right from idle.... well almost... If this was ported it would be crazy. In case you haven't noticed so far I LOVE IT.... definately money well spent.

what are banshee cylinders made out of?
Ruko replied to yamahakid1's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
you could but it wouldn't be worth it.. I looked into it a couple years ago... you would have to take out the cast sleeves and put in aluminum ones then have them plated... very pricey.... pretty much a waste of money.. -

You're probably thinking of nikosil... and no the stock cyl's don't have that. They are an alluminum casting with a cast iron sleeve. So the bore is cast iron... very much honeable. You just have to check your size and piston clearance. If you have too much wear they will need to be bored oversize. -
Sorry I just reread your post and they do come with piggybacks and brake lines... so ya that sounds like a great deal...
-
That doesn't really sound like that great a deal... Sanddragon was selling his rec. arms for about $400.00, which would leave $800.00 left for shocks. For $800.00 you should be able to get some with piggy backs or ressies. Unfortunatly the Sanddragon website is down right now and it says they are under new management so who knows what's gona happen there...
