  1. They should still work fine except they wont be as bright as they could be with more watts behind them. I put a set of 55w lights on mine with the stock stator and had no problems.

    Elka shock swap

They should bolt right up without any mods to the mounts like you need to do with the stock 450 shocks. Unless you get the bottom mounts moved on the lower a-arm you will still have the problem of them being too long though.
  3. I had 06 450 shocks on my girlfriends Banshee with stock a-arms... they fit just fine after doing the mods listed in the pinned thread for "How to install 450 shocks"
  4. There are a lot of factors that come into play... chamber size, elevation, porting, timing... the main thing is to use enough race fuel that you don't get any detonation, which can be hard to tell on a 2 stroke. So it's better to have too much race fuel, which doesn't hurt anything, than too little which can cause major problems.
  5. you bet ya... no need to run straight race fuel if 50/50 will do
  6. lol... exactly why we're NOT planning a trip to Glamis in Aug.

    yfz shocks

there have been a few people on here who have swapped a Banshee engine into a 450... I think that would be the ultimate machine... that's what Yamaha should be building... IMO

Don'y worry about the ride hieght... mine only sat about 1/2" higher than stock... and it wasn't noticable without a tape measure I'd say get some and try them.... if you don't like them just sell them again But also remeber when you are looking for some, the 04's are pretty stiff with stock a-arms... the 05's got a little softer and the 06's got softer yet... I had 06's and they were great
  9. Cool man... thx... I'll let you know when we come down... maybe we can hook up for a ride
  10. Stock cylinders have cast iron sleeves in them... no coating... that's why they can be bored oversize.
  11. Hey all... What's the temp usually like at St. Anthony's for the 3rd or 4th weeks of August?? I've been there a couple times in Sept. and it's been pretty hot during the day (damn cold at night though)... Just trying to get a trip planned for this year but we would have to come down earlier this time due to school for the kid. I don't really want to spend all day sitting to let the machines cool down.

    YFZ450 shocks

I have std length Elka 450 shocks with Sanddragon +2 a-arms and I have a little over 11" travel
  13. upper is 84 ft-lbs... lower is 43 ft-lbs... but I've had them come loose so I go with as tight as I can get them with a wrench
  14. Holy smokes that's one hell of a nice Banshee... :yelrotflmao: glad to see you back... is this still Andy or someone new???
  15. Here are some more
  16. I would think you will need to go with long travel arms with those shocks... the ones I have are stock length 450 shocks... I think they are about 16" long. Not sure what the difference is with long travel arms though, with the stock length 450 shocks and +2 arms I have over 11" travel as is.
  17. I have some close up ones around somewhere too but I'll have to find them
  18. I have Elka's off a 450 on mine and they bolted right up without any mods at all on the stock a-arms... I have +2 arms now and they work awesome.
  19. this one scored 287... it was at the taxidermist's when my buddy went to drop his wifes off from this year
  20. I tipped this one over a couple years ago... it scored 152 http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=4147420 http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=4147419 http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=4147418 http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=4147417
