7mm stock cylinder vs. stock stoke cub
blueshee03 replied to jay shafer's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
i'd have to say the 7mm .a 7mm stock cylinder set up right with the right porting is quite capable of beating the stock stroke cub with a clean up port.stock cylinders are really under estimated by everyone. -
spark pluggs $$ breaking the bank, WHAT NEXT?

demon and jbooker i'm pretty sure both of you can go down a little more on your pilots.i'm at 3000ft with 35 airstrykers and found that the dek or del needles work the best for me.i run 145-148 mains and usually no bigger than 45 pilots and airscrews out 1-2 turns.the higher you go the thinner the air so the smaller the jets need to be.jetting at higher altitudes can be a pain because the air density and humidity and such changes a lot more from day to day and even from morning to evening in my oppinion. -
the pro wedges will cause a bog if you don't gear down for them since they are alot taller and hook up much better.we launch in first and still gear down a little for them and because the faster they spin the taller they get .you should be able to hold the gears a little bit longer with them since they are taller.also when you went to the grr's did you jet for them?if your jetting is a little off it could be contributing to the bogging on the launch.i run 500 ft dirt drags all the time with a 1-5 overide and for me i found launching in first works the best.if you gear to launch in second then you may be geared to low for the second half of the track.200m is a little more than 500ft is'nt it?

lmao, maybe you will be needing velcro on your seat and pants to hold you on that little zuki .as for the hair ,i say just part it in the middle and slick it down, lol.i did'nt get over to the site yet but my son was over.he says the track don't look very good.i think he took a pic or 2 but they were from a distance.he said the kid that he talked to said they had a couple things to do yet.maybe my son will post up and add what he knows about it.

yeh you will need a stroker crank and either a stroker plate for under your cylinders or have your head cut for the stroker.having head cutis better then using plate but the best route is to get a head with changable domes and have domes cut to accomadate the stroker.you will need to split the cases to install the crank.talk to passionre on here or give him a call .he can fix you up with the crank ,head ,domes and what ever else you need.he also does fantastic porting.his number is : 918-232-3950 .jim is a wonderful guy to talk to and deal with.if you get his answering service leave a message .

they very well could be.i had a set of bb shearers that looked exactly like those bare finish and all.the ones i had worked great but did'nt have quite the bottom that i wanted so i traded for a set of grr's.mine were'nt marked shearer either but they were pretty old shearers.
-
they look good ,but looking good is'nt what its about when ya get to the track.what kind of pipes are they?
-
its all a matter of oppinion curt.i will say i have very good luck with passions work and its always delivered when promised and we have'nt had any reliability issues so far.we have a passion 4 mil drag ported cub thats running on gas and is running better et's than the 535 trinity and kurtz cheetahs.so lets not start this pissing match thing over which builder is better and most reliable.

if i were you i'd be getting a set of bigger carbs.probally 33pwk's would be just the thing.you could get 34 pj's or even 35 pwk's.however like enforcer stated to big and you will start sacraficing bottom end.i would think you woud be good up to 35's but i would'nt go any bigger.there could also be a difference in port jobs.no two port jobs run the same, there is always a slight difference.as for the v-force reeds ,i myself prefer stock ported cages over v-forces but then thats just my preference.
-
i'm sure we can help you decide butch.don't forget also that pops will hopefully have the "bmf" at the next race and who knows maybe you'll want one like it.lol.

no longer for sale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
if your interested ,i'll take 250 + shipping for carbs and k&n's .there is no cable or intakes included.i take paypal or money order and i'll ship carbs when full payment is recieved.if your interested let me know.

i take it your running the stock rear sprocket. a 16 in front could help but if i were you i'd try a 15 then a 16 and see what works best for you and your setup.you might consider goin down a tooth or 2 on the rear instead.just remember going up one tooth in front is like goin down 3 teeth in rear and the other way around.
