could be because the pvl does'nt have the timing curve built in like a stock ignition.

dry shot sprays only nitrous in.usually the nozzles are in either the air filters or in the air intake area.the wet shot sprays gas and nitrous when its activated.the nozzles are usually installed in the intakes or in reed spacers.the wet shot is much better because theres less chance of the motor running lean when sprayed.nitrous does lean out the motor and quick.with the dry shot the motor has to be jetted rich and with the wet shot the motor can be jetted close to right on because extra gas is sprayed with the nitrous.

pistons instead of porting?
blueshee03 replied to The Faster Cracker's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
i think your missing the point .vito's ss pistons are for unported cylinders.as stated before they will not give the results that porting the cylinders give but if the cylinders are unported and a guy wants a little more performance for trails and such and don't have money for a port job.then ss pistons are ok.as stated before also if you have'nt tried them then you really should'nt say they don't work.i ran them in an unported motor and they definately do give a performance gain. -
oh its challenging  especially after a couple heavy rains.pics are one thing but seeing and actually climbing it is another.

pistons instead of porting?
blueshee03 replied to The Faster Cracker's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
i ran vito's super stock pistons and they worked great with no problems and deffinately gave a huge performance boost. vitos super stock pistons are desighned for a stock unported motor and they do give a power boost!! the piston its self is the same as a regular piston with the exception of top on the exhaust side.if ran in an unported cylinder with the proper bore clearance there is no way i see that the piston or rings can snag the exhaust port. i think most guys that say they're no good or they give no power increase never ran them and never even seen them.the ones that had problems put them in with improper bore clearance.i will say you won't get gains that a good port job gives but you do get a noticable power gain with them. -
i don't have any pics but he ran an "87" banshee with a moto fast pipe.

chase if your tring to start something just keep your sarcastic remarks to yourself!!!!!!! -
we tried an rz tranny in 500 ft dirt drags for awile and in my oppinion you'd be further ahead to gear for starting in 2nd gear and use 2-5.we found that if we geared for 1st gear launches so it did'nt blow the tires loose. then it was to much jump from 1st to 2nd.the 1st gear in an rz is geared lower than a banshee and second is a bit higher.

marvin shaws are great.i've been running 300ex shocks on front and a strut on the rear.works great for me.you should get a wheelie bar too if you don't have one.

american racers are a good tire for asphalt as are hoosiers.

lol, theres areason they don't install twist throttles from the manufacturer.i know from experience what can happen with a twist throttle installed when the front end comes up . i'll stick by my thoughts and say twist for dragging only and thumb for what ever else.i'm not telling a guy "its great i love it it ,just pull the clutch".things can happen so fast you don't have time to squeeze clutch or it comes up so hard your hand gets jerked from bar and you can't squeeze clutch.as far as going same direction of bike thats true to a certain extent.when the throttle gets ripped open the bike excelerates faster than the rider and this causes the the riders hand to roll back across the throttle thus causes it to open the throttle .with thumb throttle it actually pulls your thumb away from throttle lever causing throttle to close.
-
when front end comes up with thumb throttle it will most likely throw thumb from throttle and the motor shuts down.with twist throttle when it starts coming up the motion causes the twist throttle to open up the throttle and very quickly thus possibly causing severe injury or worse.they are very dangerous if your not very alert.unless your drag racing only i'd stick to the thumb throttle.i run a twist but i only drag race mine.

street bike clutches such as fzr fibers hold up just fine with 70 hp.EBC uses the same fibers in they're aftermarket clutches.barnett carbon fibers and dirt diggers will hold up too if you install the fibers and steels properly and adjust them properly.most people think they need to run out and buy a high priced clutch or some miracle clutch fiber when they actually overlook a few minor things when they put the clutch assembly together.check your pressure plate and inner hub for wear.the surface the clutch runs on should be flat from one edge to the other edge.if theres a small ridge on the inner edge it should be replaced.that little ridge will show you how much the pressure plate and inner hub is worn down.when you get to the steels there is a proper way to install them.when they are made they are stamped from a steel sheet .they have a slightly rounded edge on one side and a sightly sharp edge on the other side .look closely at them and install them with the same edge all in one direction .i install mine with all the slightly rounded edges outward.there's probally a few on here that will disagree with me but i ran the same clutch for a couple years at the drags and had 70+ hp and 48 ft lbs of torque.that was a barnett clutch.
