  1. i have seen a couple well built stock cylinder bikes that used and had the need for more GAS then the stock shut off would supply to the carbs.i agree that you may or may not need a pingel ,but i feel its better to pay a little now compared to what it may cost later .
  2. sounds like that stop is bent or broke off.look at the bottom of the steering stem there is a stop welded on there to keep the steering from turning to far .if it is bent or missing i'd get it fixed if i were you.
  3. i've ran a few of jim's motors and did'nt have much trouble at all getting them jetted and tuned.the 12 port passion stroker the son had was as easy to tune for us as any other motor we ran.it also ran very hard from bottom to top.
  4. correct,but don't cut yourself.
  5. there is actually a good many old schoolers on here yet.there is alot that i remember being here all the time when i joined that i have'nt seen here for a long time.hopefully the ones that aint here no more did'nt get to old to ride a banshee.
  6. the pingel is great on any banshee whether its stock or highly modded.it allows much more supply to the carbs than the stock petcock does since it has a larger tube feeding from the tank and dual lines to carbs instead of one then teeing into two lines. wes there must be a simple reason your getting air bubbles in lines.i never have trouble with bubbles in my lines.probally just the way you have them routed and bent.
  7. jim's 12 port is a great running motor.bkabina on here is my son and he had the passion 12 port before he got the x3 from passion and it was a very strong running and reliable motor.send passionre a pm or call jim and talk to him about it.his number is :918-232-3950.
  8. i run a twist throttle on my drag shee and love it.i will say if you go to a twist throttle on a quad be very careful till you get on to it as it can be very dangerous .when the front starts coming up with a twist throttle it will want to open the throttle up where as with a thumb throttle it will most likely want to close the throttle down.i'd say for trails stick with the thumb throttle.remember with a twist on a quad be very careful and alert.
  9. an overide is great for drag racing once you get on to it.as lowrider said ,don,t back load the tranny by letting off the throttle with out squeezing clutch first, doing so will cause bent shift forks.however i run a 1-5 overide done by rudy kurtz and he told me its ok to back out of throttle in first gear and he also recommends backing out of throttle in fifth gear before squeezing throttle at high rpm's to prevent damage to clutch componets.never downshift the gears without stopping first.if it is a 1-? , there should be a spring with it that goes on the shaft between first gear fork and the case to keep it from jumping into gear by its self when its running.never rev the engine with clutch released as it could jump into gear without warning.due to the way the clutch is squeezed at times at higher rpm's i also recommend installing the bearing kit in the clutch to help prevent welding the clutch adjuster, ball and pushrod together.i'm speaking from experience on this because i've had these parts weld together and it aint a good thing.
  10. i'd deffinately talk to jim but i think anything bigger than 35's on that setup running gas is an overkill .as odaen said wes had 34's and they seemed to work great.
  11. in my oppinion a good builder would get his work that has been waiting that long done before he put it off to go on a ride!!!!sorry if anyone differs on it but its my oppinion.
  12. good thinking.just remember if you install clutch lockup to also install the bearing kit to prevent welding adjuster, ball and pushrod together.
  13. you probally don't really need a clutch lockup unless your making higher hp and are experiencing clutch slippage, but you can run a lock up in the trails.
  14. damn thats a long wait!
  15. when the fronts in the air you gotta steer with body weight.takes alot of practice
  16. i use them.
  17. what kind of springs were used in the clutch?if they put stiffer springs in that will do it
  18. go with cometic they work great
  19. you deffinately won't go wrong with a passion 12 port.they are a great running and reliable motor.jim is also about the best guy you could find to talk to and he deffinately knows his stuff when it comes to making a banshee or any 2 stroke scream as far as that goes.
  20. i agree ,throw those in the trash, you don't need them.i had one of them get caught between the plates once and caused my clutch to slip like it was wore out.i took them out and threw them away.clutch worked fine after that.
  21. i,m with wes on the + 4 swinger.i think with the real short swingarm and wheelie bar being to short the rear wheels are actually being bounced off the ground when the front comes up and the wheelie bar hits the ground.the weight may be being transfered to behind the rear wheels instead of on top of them.also cut the air pressure in the rear tires .softening the rear suspension just a little could help give a little more traction also.
  22. check out this link if it works.great deal on magnum baskets:magnum
