good one brooke
-
it usually costs around 175.00 and up depending on where you have it done.i run a lockup on my clutch and it shifts great with it but then i run an overide tranny .squeezing the clutch is no different with the lockup then it is without it and i would reccomend you just run the stock springs.
-
hmmm ,i've had mine ride the wheelie bar hard in 1-3 and pop up in 4th and 5 th gear with a 15 - 37 in the dirt.
-
same here,no spacers just tweaked brake pedal a little
-
its not a clutch at all, but rather a clutch lockup.works with centrifical force and the more the motor revs ,the more pressure it applies to the clutch pressure plate.its a great investment for higher hp and torque motors exspecially if your drag racing.i have noticed that in time it will put wear marks on the pressure plate where the fingers apply pressure.if you do go with a clutch lockup,be sure to also install a bearing kit also to prevent the clutch adjuster, ball and pushrod from melting themselves together and possibly even melting pushrod to the inside of tranny shaft.the bearing kit only costs 40-50 bucks and is a great investment even if you run a totally stock banshee.

try a new shift shaft and a new adjusting eccentric.also check the shafts that the shift forks slide on,they may be worn or bent a little.make sure they are round and not worn oval shaped.
-
try a little clear silcone caulking.leave it set up and paint it.it will seal them and after the paint is dry you can remove it easily.
-
John ,maybe you can get Joe there to run him with that lil zuki.lol. i'de like to see him make it to quadfest again this year.that lil zuki is an awsome machine.he does still have it don't he?

the pwk's have better venting than pj's and idling is set with a screw in the side of the carb on the pwk's.the pwk airstrykers have 4 vents and they also have 2 fins in front of the slides that direct air drawn in directly over the main jet area and towards the needle to help atomize the fuel more.they are a little more touchier on the jetting than regular pwk's and pj's but are a little better performance carb than regular pwk's.pj carbs don't have as good a venting system that pwk's do and idling is set by turning the choke knob, which is about the only draw back with them.they can be a pain to keep the idling where you want it.pj's in my oppinion are an excellent carb for drag racing.expecially when they are converted to alky.

from what i've read on them they are supposed to be a real good reed .they are claiming more hp than v-force reeds, which i would'nt doubt and they look like they are built with quality.keep me posted on the perfomance of these reeds.did you check on replacement petals for them?

i have a +4 and the shock mounting point is the same as stock location.i think the mounting point on a stock swingarm is the measurement you should use.i would try to keep in mind that goin longer changes the load on the spring .a +4 over swingarm works pretty well with stock shock and linkage but over +4 you may need to put a little stronger spring on the shock .the longer the swingarm the less the efficiency and load capacity is on the stock shock setup.moving mounting point towards the axle carrier would actually cause the rear of the quad to sit a little lower and it will also bottom out quicker .moving mounting point towards the is not a good idea in my oppinion.

ok i just found some info posted on another site concerning QUADFEST 2006 and thought i'd share it.this is the post just as it appears: Hi all - I wanted to give you some additional information in regards to Mountain Ridge Trails Resort The website has the speed limit listed for insurance purposes. We had an organized ride there this weekend, and I can pretty much say no one was going 5 mph. In the summer, July 21-22-23 we are planning on having a big ride on the property called QuadFest, you may see it advertised in another forum area (Events) The QuadFest, July 21-22-23 2006 (thus my name...lol) The price will be $30 for the weekend and will include 3 days of riding and free primitive camping. We will have a vendor show and lots of events during the weekend. The good news is, you can bring the WHOLE family along, as all kids / bikes are welcome. Spectators are only $5/day If you need more info, email and/or pm me, [email protected] We will have 3 - 20 mile loops minimum on the property - 1 family friendly, 1 edge of your seat... plus there may be another 20 mile one as well. This property is 5 miles outside of Shanksville (where the plane went down on 9/11) let me know if you need tickets, they will be available Feb 18th with a free tshirt if purchased before July 1st, 2006

its no stretch and you can believe it or not .its true ,my son had his setup this way and ran it for a good while with the high compression and ran pump gas in it.no i don't recommend anyone trying it go with the normal rule of thumb when it comes to what type of fuel to use.when i post i post from experience and not from hear say or just to try to get a laugh from fellow hq'ers.

What exactly are lectron carbs........
blueshee03 replied to mattw204's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
lectrons are good as far as being quick to tune, however a regular carb can be more finely tuned than lectrons.in my oppinion keihins or mikuni's are a better choice for a finely tuned engine. -
i got a couple sets i cut off if i can find them you can have them.i'll check tommorow.
-
i never ran them but i was thinking about it.they are supposed to be good.did you get intakes also?let me know the results.
-
i'm pretty sure the stock gaskets are .015 thickness.
-
for an all out drag pipe without having a set custom made grr suicide pipes are by far the best performing pipes you'll find in my oppinion.they are a little more forgiving than shearers on the bottom end and still pull like crazy on top.
-
there is no best pipes .it all depends on your motor setup and riding style.i do think that toomey t5's are a very good all around pipe along with cpi inframes.for trail riding good old fmf fatty's and knarley's are hard to beat and these can be got for very reasonable prices.
-
inline coolers are a waste of money in my oppinion .tried one and did'nt notice enough difference in temperature to justify the money it cost and the time to install it.engine ice is the only way to go.it dropped the engine temprature 30 degrees+ at the drags.

i was told the cost to get in quadfest this year will $50.00 wether you are goin to be there all three days or just one day.as for hotels ,the site is located approximately 20 miles from bedfoord, somerset and johnstown pa.all three have some very good hotels and bars of course.you dont have to go that far for bars though there is the indian lake lodge about 2 miles from the site and there is around 5 or more within 10 miles from the site.some of these are smaller bars but not bad to have fun and drink beer and shoot pool.there is a small hotel about 3-4 miles from the site but i would reccomend calling them and making arrangments early if you want o get lodging there.also last year they allowed you to camp on the site all three days and i'm sure they will be doing that again this year.here are the links to quadfest and mountain ridge trails : mountain ridge trails quadfest 2006 i will try try to get more info about the admission cost and post what i find out.i think also that mobile dyno will be there again but i'll have to call and find out for sure.
-
i'll be there.i was at quadfest 2005 and it was awsome.this years quadfest is only a couple minutes from my house.looking forward to running the dirt drags again this year at quadfest 2006.it is only the second quadfest and they are planning on holding it at a different location in pennsylvania each year.last years event had over 1500 people attend.

Banshee Running Real Crappy (Need Help ASAP)
blueshee03 replied to Infamous039's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
is it loosing spark or getting that much gas in the cylinder that its drowning the plug?if your running stock carbs do you have the float bowls switched from carb to carb?they are different i do believe.if they are aftermarket carbs have you tried switching carbs from side to side?
