Ive always said what makes a Banshee a Banshee is its engine. Once a cylinder is added(or taken away) its no longer a Banshee. Frame mods dont matter to me either, stretched, lightened, rigid, custom. As long as it still has that twin-cylinder 2 stroke-based engine its still a Shee.

Its a two stroke twin. When you put any other engine in it other than that it's uniqueness is done. I am not the biggest purest on twin carbs or pipes as a lot of the other members here are (if you need a ton of low end you have to choke it down a little to do it) but the engine as a whole should not be removed and replaced with anything else. The chassis and suspension are somewhat dated, but the aftermarket out there can chance all that if you have the green to get it done.

banshee based frame and banshee motor..

when you swap out the banshee motor for something else, its no longer a banshee..

a banshee motor in a yfz450 frame is not a banshee..

When you take out the motor and put a different one in it is no longer a banshee.

Agreed, must be twin 2stroke.

Also the styling! That bad ass banshee look is awesome!

No offense to anyone rocking craptor plastics... nevermind that looks like sh!t and you should remove it, it doesn't belong there.

I agree, its all about that screaming twin 2 stroke. Personally I like to see the original based frame. Modified for strength, lightened, stretched, its all good as long as its based on the original, but really its all about the engine

lol I've shown my wife video's of the stretched out drag Banshee's with aftermerket plastics, different fuel tanks and no headlights. She'll say "what kind of fourwheeler is that?" I'll say it's A BANSHEE! And she'll say "well it doesn't look like a Banshee!"

I think a lot of people identify the Shee with it's square radiator and round headlights. And of course, the sound of the screaming twin.

I think the engine is the main thing that makes it a Banshee, as long as that's in it, it's a true 'Shee.

That 2 stroke twin cylinder engine with it's awsome sound makes it a banshee. I am not sure what to think if you add cylinders like a tripple or a four cylinder banshee, i guess as long as it is still a 2 stroke banshee based engine it is still a banshee.

I agree with loco on this one, it's kind of like plastic surgery you can change your appearance and your shape, but you are still you, as long as it's got the banshee based motor and frame it's still a banshee. However, if you put a shee motor in another quad then it's more of a heart transplant, and just putting your heart in someone else doesn't make that person you.
