  1. Damn, is there going to be any place to stay down there this weekend?
  2. Im finally going to make a BHQ ride. I mean its only been 10 years..... Jesus. Where do you all stay? I dont even know where to go, once I get down there.
  3. Ok, I assume the packing has been missing for awhile. Gotta confess, I haven't repacked in probably 5 or 6 years. Im sure the lack of it caused the cores to just get all kinds of stress on them. I will probably try and weld them up then. Thanks guys!
  4. So this is probably a stupid questions, but I just dont wanna waste time and screw something up. I noticed that when I really wind the motor up, it just falls on its face at high rpm. So I thought, well I guess I will rejet, even though my jetting has always been pretty spot on and I have changed nothing. So I checked this and that. Well I took the pipes off, and heard a terrible rattle like something was broken. Well the core just flops about. And it comes out of line from the pipe tube itself, so I would assume my exhaust is flowing very poorly. Anyway, obviously the silencers need to be repacked, but is there anything else I need to do? Is it just packing that keeps the cores in place or is somthing broken? The pipes are Toomey T5's. Thanks
  5. I think that is what they were getting at in the article. I liked the list. I agree with how they did it.
  6. This is funny, cause my riding buddies and I used to name all of our quads. The banshee's name is "Picanshee".... Not really sure why.
  7. I mean, I see what they are getting at though. How like the blaster and lt80 paved the way to some of the youth sport quads. You are right though, probably shouldnt be there. LOL And thats true, the Cannondale was bad ass. Total game changer
  8. If you have a love for all quads, I think you will enjoy this. I know I did and for the most part I agree with the list. Banshee on top! http://www.off-road.com/atv/tech/top-10-sport-atvs-54008.html
  9. This guy is lives like 10 minutes from me.... Baddest shee around huh? Apparently he doesn't know I exist.... And that Tyler isnt far away either.
  10. Already flipped it without doing a damn thing. Still in boxes, got rid of it for $500! Looks like its new a arms for the shee!
  11. Right on guys. Thanks!. Part out it is. Need the money for shee parts anyways.
  12. Ok, dont yell at me. I have already posted on the Suzuki forums. But I trust my Banshee brothers knowledge over all of the other forums out there, so Im going to post here too. I have mad love and respect for all quads, especially the classics. Last weekend I came across a 85-86 Quadracer LTR250 frame with fresh powder on it in a buddy's shop. He said, he powdercoated it for a guy and he never came back to get it. Anyway, I found everything for the quad there in boxes. Even wheels and tires. Plastics in good shape. No tears in the seat. So I took it all. $100 bucks! Im pumped! The only thing it needs is a crank from what it looks like. I've thought about parting it out, and may still yet, but first I wanna see if its worth restoring cause these bikes are pretty damn cool. And I thought I could have some fun on it for awhile and then sell it. But, Im having a heck of a time finding a crank for the 85-86. Any suggestions? Or should I try something different like the 88-92 engine swap? Or should I just get bent. LOL Im very open here. Thanks!
  13. How well would the alba a arms work with YFZ hubs/spindles and YFZ shocks? Anyone tried it?
  14. That's the problem. I can't get them to answer just like when the first set was wrong.
  15. I guess that's more of my complaint. I understand things can happen when machining. Stuff happens to me all the time. But the customer service part is what pisses me off so bad.
  16. So here is the deal, and I thought everyone should know, so they dont have to learn the hard way like I did. Put new a-arms on the shee and needed extended tie rods. So I looked around a bit and saw full flight racing's tie rods. Researched them, saw some mixed reviews, but I thought hey, they are just tie rods and they have a decent website and make lots of parts, surely I cant go wrong with some tie rods right? WRONG! Trying to save a measley 10 bucks has now cost me $200! The first ones I ordered were wrong..... I called and called and emailed and called for 2 weeks untill finally someone answered the phone. I told them which ones I really needed and they said ok, just send the others back. So I did. Watched UPS tracking number and they received them 2 days after I shipped. So I waited and waited for another week and a half. Ended up going on a riding trip with the stock tie rods with the worst toe angle ever because they didn't get there on time. So they finally come in. Went to put them on. Their machining work is HORRIBLE! They aren't drilled center and come to find out the threads go in at an angle. So one side wouldn't go on at all and the other, once it was on, started pulling threads off of my tie rod end about half way up and ruined it. So now, im caving and just getting all new name brand ends and rods. But the point is, these are just tie rods.... These guys make a arms too. I cant imagine what kind of crap quality they are. And their service is a joke. So from my experience I would like to let everyone know... DO NOT BUY FROM FULL FLIGHT RACING!!! Thank you, that is all!
  17. Lastlegwarrior, me and some other guys are headed there this weekend. Thought I would give a shout out if anyone was interested.
  18. I think the next step really is to get it finished up so we can ride this weekend!!! Hurry up damnit!
  19. See thats kinda what I was thinking. I have looked back at the old posts about it and stuff, but I just cant decide. Looks like everybody has their own opinion about both ways and I cant decide for myself what to do. Pathetic I know right? How much did you pay for yours. My problem is money like always. Just bought a 450r and i keep pumping money into it for woods racing, but Im anxious to go fast again and put the shee back together.
  20. Looking to do the YFZ a arm conversion. Already have the shocks. Need the a arms and spindles I suppose. Anybody got any?
  21. Yeah, the place is awesome. Love going there. I was gonna go Memorial Day weekend too, but it was booked like 2 months in advance. So I signed up for the next weekend, cause I have 3 day then too, and there were only like 2 campsites left for it. And I made my reservations like 2 weeks ago. Its always full, its crazy. There are always some hotels in Farmington that are vacant like 5 miles away, but it sucks, cause half of the trip is the camping, cold brews, and some dogs after ridin all day.
  22. At least a hundred times better than Finger Lakes. I live 10 miles from Finger Lakes and used to go there all the time, and I damn near stopped because of St. Joe. It is probably 4 times the size. The hills are twice as tall, trails twice as long, and there are huge sand flats for drag racing and carving some bowls and stuff. Love it there. The only thing it lacks is a track, but there are tons of small ones build out of the sand. Its a great mix between a clean and less nasty Finger Lakes, and dunes.
  23. Headed to St. Joe State Park, MO (Park Hills, Flat River, etc) for the weekend of Jun 4-6. Thought I would post in case someone was remotely interested.
  24. Yeah I got it figured out. Its the stator. The engine turns over fine with some stuttering like its building up compression and then it will fire out of the exhaust. Battery is brand new and has plenty of power, starter is in good shape, valve clearance is good, just adjusted. Carb is jetted perfect. I tried unplugging the regulator and it seems to start. I talked to a guy who had the same problem one time on his, he said its really rare, but it happens. He said they develope a short between the stator and pick up coil that allows it to run when you push start it, but it wont start on its own. So I guess Im gonna replace the stator and see what happens. Any ideas on what to go with? Or just go with Ricky Stator like whats on my shee.
  25. Ok, so quick question about my raptor. Rode it all day saturday and it started up and ran fine all day. Lots of power and compression was good, didn't do anything weird. However, throughtout the day it became harder and harder to start. In the morning it cranked and fired easy, but each time after that it seemed to crank longer and longer before it would start. Finally it quit starting. It was running great, shut it off to talk for a bit, and it would not start. So I got a quick tow and pull started it and it fired right up and ran great again. Shut it off, tried to start it nothing again. I let it cool off, still nothing. Any ideas?
