  1. I believe a 16hp increase at around 10,000rpms...the stock exhaust drops off early and loses power after 6500 while the CPI's will keep making it until 9-10K..thats why aftermarket pipes make the shee have about 10mph more top speed.....peak hp of stock pipes to peak hp of CPI's should be around a 10hp or more difference....
  2. Check to make sure all the free spinning gears will actually spin and that none of the gears are discolored or blued....check for any chipping or cracking of the gears or shafts....
  3. Who are you going to listen to?? A Honda owner or shee owners???? -2, no doubt..
  4. I used grade 8 bolt and nuts...You won't be cutting from underneath, but from the side......so basically instead of having a 3/8" hole for the bolt for the foot peg, you'll grind that side off so there will be a 1" hole....I didn't have any water in mine....
  5. I cut the frame w/ a 4" cutting grinder ( or whachamacallit) where the foot pegs bolt on. I only cut off the 1" circular piece of frame where the bolt goes in...there is a nut on the inside and the welds that held it in place let go on mine... the nut was just bouncing around inside my frame.....anyways, I took an extra thick washer and welded a larger nut to it, then welded the washer to my frame so the nut was inside....Cleaned it up and painted it. Looked better than factory...I had to redrill my foot pegs since I went w/ a larger nut and bolt, but there is a huge difference in size....
  6. So true, I've tried a ton of different gears and find mine to be perfect, but when I rode my friends shee, it wasn't the same....his shee won't pull my gears, and the high revs alone don't have the torque. The whole power curve is different so he has to stay w/ 15/41 gears....I always run the tallest gear I can and be able to take off in 2nd. Gives me enough power to pull through all gears at any obstacle...But thats me...Like Deuce said, everyones different and want different reactions w/ different habits.....some people like to shift all the time, others like to clutch, some like the long pull, others like the quick revs....
  7. Sounds like the sand got in there and wore your rings out. That'd explain the side to side play and compression lost......still have to figure out the red color though...
  8. I bought a set of 34's for my shee and lost hp, so I sold them to two of my friends who owned 250Rs..They are still running them and love em.....
  9. 160 mains sounds really lean to me... I was running 162 mains w/ midrange pipes and no porting.....I'd say the needles and pilots are why your bogging out on take off....
  10. I run my shee against a radar gun or car....You should hit around 72-74mph w/ stock exhaust, stock gearing, stock tire size....should hit around 85mph w/ aftermarket exhaust...
  11. Checked the petcock?? What do the plugs look like after a wot run in 6th gear for 5-10 seconds?? Maybe your wayyy to lean and need to go 5-6 sizes larger...My shee will spit and sputter w/ 280 mains, but runs perfect w/ 300. A 320 will make it run rich as hell.....Fine line.....
  12. I'd start w/ the 180 main first...Better to start rich, then work down...The 2 into 1 is easy to change anyway...
  13. Depends on how much of a temp change your talking....I adjusted my jetting for 40-50 degrees and run it rich in the summer at 80-90 degrees out.....I run my sled in the winter....One jet size for every 20 degrees difference..If you want top performance, then you have to change the jetting...
  14. If my exhaust was smoking unevenly, then I'd be worried. It takes 5 minutes to sync the carbs right and will gain more performance as well as the motor working together.....one side shouldn't pull the other side. puts a lot of strain on one side of the motor...
  15. I totally agree. I've only had one seat cover, but its going on 5 years now and still in perfect shape. We see temps down to -20F and never split, cracked, or split a seem......The quality from Cascade is unbelievable, the fit was perfect and only took my 15 minutes to put on w/ a stapler by myself, the service and design choices are great.....I'd STRONGLEY recommend them for a seat cover hands down.....
  16. Aftermarket reeds will run richer than stock, raising the needles one clip will do the same thing....I jetted in a friends shee and ran strong as hell especially after we raised the needles all the way up....Put some boysen petals in and it fell on its face...lowered the needles back down one notch and ran like a raped ape again....
  17. I think the sst's are an awesome pipe...
  18. I'd go up a couple of sizes to start and maybe one on the pilots.
  19. I'd guess that your too rich.....most of the time if your too lean then it would still go and be not want to rev or feel like someone hit the kill switch. If your too rich then it'll usually spit and sputter and sound like its flooded out..
  20. I agree w/ Ben. Leave the needles for now and I'd run it wot in 6th gear for 5 seconds, shut it down, coast to a stop and pull the plugs... If they are black then go leaner, If they are tan or white then go richer....Another way is to put some duct tape on the filters and cover them about half way....If it runs better than your too lean on the mains, if it runs worse, then your too rich on the mains..
  21. Great high rev pipes for the price....Not much on bottom, and hit hard on the powerband. They work great for areas of fast speeds like dunes and flattracking....Not too good for trails, and don't care much for sand pits where I am....too much on/off throttle...
  22. You heard about that???
  23. Thanks everyone who responded, I'm really excited, I'm already a father of a 9-year old little girl....I'm just excited since I wanted a boy so much....
