  1. Its all in the balance, throttle, brake, and control......Practice son, practice, you'll get it.....Deuce is right about the -2 swingarm, makes wheelies a lot easier and less angle....I wouldn't suggest the foot in the wheelie bar, especially for training....go back too far and your foot gets kicked out from the ground and now your running after your shee or draggin behind it from the handlebars..... Also the high rev pipe will make it harder w/ the sudden hit of powerband.....
  2. Agreed, I put some in my shee and my streetbike and both situations felt a lost in responsiveness.... Boony, I was told by Paul Turner that high octane will make your shee run cooler since it doesn't burn as hot......Sounds logical, though I've never experimented to test this theory.....Anyone have some hard facts on that????
  3. Well I just went from Castrol 28:1 over to Amsoil 40:1 and didn't notice any difference at all, BUT I am a strong believer in a richer mix of oil for this reason: I had a jet ski that was raced. It had a big bore, head mods, and thats it....I had major problems w/ holding a set of rings longer than 4-8 hours...The jet ski went great and barely took my friends jet ski which was also set up for racing.......I finally figured out that the oil pump was turned down so I increased back to stock settings......Lets just say.....my friend wasn't too happy... I gained 5mph on top speed and took my friend about 5 jet ski lengths in 300' where as before I could only take him on top......So I not only gained performance, but also life and reliability....I went through 3 top ends to find out the oil was leaned out.....So if I was you, I'd listen to that ONE guy....just because all your friends own shees, it doesn't mean they know what they are talking about......BTW, I'm going back to Castrol 28:1
  4. Really,, I know the lower center of gravity is a bonus, but whats your oppinion on the ride quality between the two, Deuce??? Every time I try different shocks, there is a couple of weeks or more between....
  5. I had to go up 2 main jets sizes w/ mine and I have midrange pipes...I would imagine the high revs might even like 3 sizes more.....I'd start w/ 290 mains and go from there. Better to start a little rich anyways.....Besides colder weather is setting in.....
  6. That lottery dude is a liar... I don't think you have to worry about skiing, might be a short year.....I'm still waiting for snow for my sled, but its not looking good for at least another couple of weeks....we lost just about all that snow we got 2 weeks ago. Had over 30 inches in 2 storms and now I can see my lawn through the snow.....
  7. I did the front, then the rear, then pulled the sides down. Just make sure you are centered... I used a staple gun. Took me 10 minutes and it hasn't pulled apart in 5 years...I got mine from Cascade Innovations......They did an awesome job...Highly recommend them.....
  8. Throw the 400's in and go from there. Better to start rich and work down....run it wot in 6th gear for 5-10 seconds, pull the clutch in, shut it down, pull the plugs...black is rich, brown is perfect, tan or white is lean... 20cc domes.......what are you running for compression??? what octane fuel?? what did the pistons look like?? were they melted toward the exhaust or holes in the top, center of the pistons??
  9. Thats half his problem..tell him to cut the lid or remove it....makes a big difference.
  10. If your jetting is really off then you can notice a difference in the main jets, but hard to fine tune by feel....A plug test is the best way to dial in the mains, no guessing...The needle position is very noticeable especially on certain pipes...the pilots and air screws are noticeable if you pay attention and try to distinguish where....
  11. I rode JKJK's shee and it had a ohlins rear shock.... The difference between his and mine (stock) was insane....One of my next mods, no doubt.....I liked his ohlins a lot better than my other friends Elkas....
  12. Maybe if I get my chance to go to NY or if you come up here, we can try each others shee....I'd like a little more all around and you want more top.....The quest goes on.....
  13. Adjustability is always worth it, but are you going to use it???? Most people don't even dial in the stock suspension, so if you don't use it, why pay for it??
  14. Glad I could help. But how low was your shee with the ride height up so high. Banchetta I think they are LSR a arms. You tell us which one they are cause they look like my LSR. Yes, let us know...LSR or Quicksands??? They look just like mine also....
  15. Dumont should be good!!.......
  16. About average, but once you wear the thread down to the groove, then they don't hook up for sh!t.....
  17. 106 isn't bad for that elevation and remember.....you only have 10 hours on it!! Its still breaking in....I rebuilt my shee and only had 142psi w/ head mods and about 4 hours on it...Checked it 2 months later and had 165psi......Let it break in.....you'll see a difference..
  18. check the orange and black wires on the coil and make sure you have a good connection...This could be a lot of things...How much compression do you have??? Are the bowls on the carbs on the right carb??? The bowls are different and control the choke...what about the choke tube between the two carbs??? Is the tors still connected?? Parking brake switch still connected?? Little black box above the left exhaust still connected?? Check all these out...
  19. Try different air screw settings....you should readjust the air screws from winter to summer...My shee likes the air screws at .5 turns out in the fall and winter, but 1.5 turns out in the summer....Also make sure your air cleaner is clean, and what about air box mods??? the cover will hurt throttle response a lot...
  20. Are you overfilling the bottle?? It has to expand when the motor warms up.....
  21. I use a piece of 3/4" rebar or you could use 1.5"x 1.5" wood and pry the springs down....Yours are really high, I think mine are on the 7th ring down.....they were on the 5th from the factory, but I bottomed them out too easy...BTW, nice arms, those are Quicksands right.....
  22. If the shocks are set up for standard length arms, then they need to be revalved. Makes a HUGE difference...My stock shocks bottomed out bad over whoops w/ my longer arms even w/ the springs all the way tight...the leverage makes a big difference....
  23. ONly problem w/ blackwaters is they slide around on you in grass fields...I had my shee come around in a 180 degrees twice on me in a field coming around a corner in 4th gear.....Doing a little sideways thing around a corner then in an instant....walla....I spun around and hit a grass clump...on the side the shee goes...happened a couple of times .... the blackwaters have no side knobbies, and I wouldn't suggest them for ANYTHING....
  24. The cat is good......BN is right on....BTW, nice avatar!!!
  25. Boony, your gonna get high blood pressure if you keep that up...... I'm really surprised that so many people do take a lot of advice on here and there is a lot of people that do know what they are talking about....Go to some other sites and its kids that think they know it all and argue w/ you..... There usually isn't much knowledgable people neither.... I had a blow out a couple of weeks ago on a snowmobile site....No one knows shit or even try different mods to snowmobiles.....so then no one know what works and what doesn't....Drives me up a wall....Anyways,, have a beer, and get on the Dumont trip!!!! You need a vaca!!!
