  1. I hope everyone is still going. I'm trying to talk myself into the 2 1/2 hour ride. I'm not going to make the trip if I will be the only one there. broke
  2. I'm going to assume it's going to hit us on Sunday. We just had some pretty nasty tornadoes rip through here on Tuesday night. They killed 8 people just two towns away. Chicago weather is the same way, probably be 80 today and snow tommorow. Good luck broke
  3. This could use a bump. broke
  4. Do the Rocket pipes pass the DB levels? Do you just use Sparkys for arresters? Thanks, broke
  5. By watching the powervalve servo(not while riding.) I can actually feel when it does it as I'm riding also. broke
  6. I do know that different years opened at different times. I don't remember exactly which ones were what, but it was for emmision(sp) bullshit. Mine had all the electronics off of an 85 and I would guess it would be opening about 6000, hard to tell without a tach. Good luck broke
  7. What price might that be? broke
  8. To be completely honest with you, do a search. You will be reading for hours on this topic. While I don't think it will out handle an R, it will get much closer. Don't give up on a quad you know very little about. Although, a "VERY" well built R is all I would trade for. broke
  9. I would just go to a -2. That's what I have on mine, with a ported RZ motor and rocket pipes. The motor has more than enough power to lift the wheels anytime I want, but it is controlable and predictable. MrMatt did mine and I can say he does extremely nice work. I ride with a buddy that has a -1 and wants to change to a -2 if that tells you anything. I did some pretty steep hill climbs last weekend and you just kind of change your ridind style. With the stocker I had to watch the front to make sure it didn't come up and at the same time weight the back for traction. Now I just kind of stay low and over the front and don't even think about weighting the back anymore. Advancing the timing does not raise your compression, but can make a border line engine have to change to a slightly higher octane to keep detonation at bay. I'm sure one of the smarter people on here can tell you why. Lightening the flywheel is a great mod with little or no side effects. Lets the motor rev quite a bit faster. If I were you I would do them at the same time if finances permit. You're already in there, might as well. Good luck broke
  10. I'm going to have to agree on the rockets. I have run CPI's and can't really tell the diifference between them except for the sound. They both pull great up top and have decent low-mid. Good luck broke
  11. Email pics to [email protected] broke
  12. Yes, it is worth it. You DO NOT have to modify the frame for it to fit. It's hard to say which one makes more power. If you are asking about stock HP the RZ wins hands down. It's the powervalves that makes the swap worth it. They make the power much more linear and "I think" the exhaust port opens more on an RZ for even better top end. Try to find a complete motor with electronics or even a complete bike that someone is selling for a good price. The wiring is a nightmare, but a few people on this site have done the swap and can help you along the way. broke
  13. I could be wrong, but by any chance can you trace any of these problems back to jetting issues? You may not have realized this, but for some reason Banshees seem to be bitchy when it comes to jetting. There is kind of a fine line between fouling plugs and burning it up. Let us know what you want for it. broke
  14. The Badlands are in Atiica. I'm in IL also, but up north in Channahon. The 24th looks good so far. Have the rules changed or is a flag and helmet the only essentials needed there?
  15. We just had our first ultrasound last night. I drove me nuts because my wife does "NOT" want to know what it was. The nurse doing it said she went went past the area where the parts are kept 3 times. I looked carefully, but could not make anything out. Did you get any of the new 3d color ultrasounds? They are almost creepy. We got ours video taped which was also kind of strange. Good luck broke
  16. It's strange that this seems to be happening alot. Mine developed this nasty habit on Saturday, it's also an RZ head. I need to look into the plug locks. broke
  17. AGREED!!!!!!!!!
  18. I agree that 4 strokes are the future. The EPA seems to have it's sites set on the 2 strokes. I agree that the new 450's are nice quads. As far as more reliable, how can they make that judgement on quads that just came out? I think your friends have read a few too many Dirt Wheels articles. Wait until someone grenades one of those motors, I would like to know what it really costs to rebuild it. I finally got the chance to line up with quite a few of both yesterday in many statesof tune. The fastest Yamaha had quite a bit done to it, and while impressive just didn't have enough. They would take me out of the hole every time but I would reel them in as soon as I hooked up in 3rd. I never raced one Honda all day that even impressed me. I don't know where you heard this little tidbit of info. But that may be one of stupidest things I've heard on here in along time. I had mine out for six hours yesterday and I don't take any extra pistons with me. Some say the Banshees will over heat if ridden slowly, All I can say is mine never has. And As far as motors go, anything can blow a piston at any time. I usually has a lot to do with morons never learning how to jet right. As far as RPM's go, do you really care? Some are built to lug around at semi low RPM's while other drag set up's rev's quite high. If that is one of the stats are you are going to base your purchase on, good luck with that. Depends on what you are looking for, do some research. As far as a drag or dune quad, my opinion is no. As far as an MX quad, it never really was meant to do that anyway. I'm not going any furthure there. Is this a question? broke
  19. 77 Jeep CJ7 that my wife hates. It's been a work in progress for several years now and my upcoming child should be able to help me finish it so they can drive it on their 16th birthday. I can't tell you how many times I have heard "sell it", but I don't think I ever will. broke
  20. $800 Canadian=$600 real money. Subtract @35 cents a mile x 1000 miles. $600-$350=250. Subtract cost of window tint so nobody sees you with that thing in the back of your truck. $250-$150=100. Subtract for humiliation fee when loading, unloading and stopping for gas. $100-$100=$0 Seeing as I came up with your asking price, is it a deal? broke
  21. I think he was aking the diiference between TT and Supermoto. Similar but different. Supermoto from what I have seen is like half tarmac, half hard pack dirt with a few jumps thrown in that may not be made out of dirt. But it looks like a flat track set up with a little more suspension travel is what is usually run. broke
  22. They are great pipes. I have a set of Mids which are the best pipes I have owned. The only reason I am getting rid of them is because of the porting on my motor. I have heard that the pipes work well with the "right" porting and Duncans bikes do fly. But all in all, very nice pipes. $630 unfinished, OUCH. broke
  23. I have these same carbs bought from the same person. Mine run great, so you may want to keep playing with them before you really give up. I had some issues getting mine to idle low, but in the end it just took VERY small adjustments of the idle screws. If I can just get the main dialed in right, they will be perfect. I can try to answer any questions if you want. Good luck. broke
  24. Can someone explain to me why the picture doesn't work. broke
  25. Brand new, never installed. Not for use with V-Force intakes. Still have all original packaging. I know they will work with up to 30mm carbs. Would like to trade for a nice rear shock, Prowedge tires(prefered with rims), Duncan bumper or $120 obo. More money can be added for the right rear shock also. Any offers are welcome, at the absolute worst I will just say no. I paid $190 for it new and just bought the wrong one. broke
