  1. Depends on the pipe. Some use an O-ring and others you need to use some sealant. I like the RTV orange(high temp). I needed to use it on my PTR's. The only way to really know is to yank off the pipe that is leaking and see what's up. broke
  2. It's really not that hard. Definately get a Clymers if you don't already. And have a pretty good size clean space to keep track of everything. The cranks is a no brainer to get out. The trans is a little more complex, but pretty much just as easy. I had to hit mine pretty good with a rubber mallet to get it to split. And like what was already said, make sure evrything is clean before you reassemble it. Good, luck broke
  3. The month of lost info brought back alot of "Threads from the Dead". bropke
  4. With Trinity's track record, I'll bet on that one. broke
  5. I will second the vote for the Toomey 2:1. Great filter, gets rid of alot of the clutter that the giant airbox causes. I ran it for alomost two years until I stepped up to larger carbs. They make a water resistant Outerwear for it that works great(but can burn easily on the stinger tubes). broke
  6. Normally, no. But a good rule of thumb is to check jetting any time you change anything on the motor. broke
  7. Bert and Ernie Ivan and Boris(I keep trying to use these two for baby names) Duncan(dunkin) and Merlin
  8. I am interested in the bead locks. What were you looking to get for them, price or parts you want to trade? broke
  9. Yeah, it is a big main. For some reason my bike just likes big main jets. I went Riding with Fixitrod and his ported stroker was running substantially smaller mains. I've never figured out why, but the RZ jugs like a large main and a smal pilot. With stock carbs I got the best throttle response from 20's. Anyway, your plugs don't sound good. I would post some pics and let the gurus on here tell you what's up. Those O-rings sound like they are messing something up. It's not the little orange ones, but the big black one that's messed up. right? I just thought of something. Are you sure the powervalves are definately open? Can you phisically see them cycle? The O-ring thing just flickered a light bulb in my head. broke
  10. Are you running the RZ trans, or banshee? I know some have said that the RZ trans ratios don't work the best for a quad. I have the Banshee trans in mine, so that's just a guess. Anyway, here are my mods for comparison; The porting I guess could be described as a Pro MX port. Basically just porting meant for a broad powerband with an extra nod toward top end. Rocket pipes V-force Reeds Billet intakes(really doesn't mean shit) 30mm Keihins K&N Clamp ons Right now at sea level and 80 degree days I am running a 180 in the Keihins and was running 350 mains with the stock carbs. Pilot is still stock, I can't really figure it out so I don't mess with it. And I leaned the needle out on clip. But I can tell you mine is an animal all the way to the top of 6th with a 15 tooth sprocket. I usually run a 16, but that's just because the motor has such a broad spread of power, that I can lug gears more and don't shift as often. If you need anything explained in more detail, just ask. broke
  11. I run Blaster pegs and DG nerfs. It did take a litle bit of creative grinding, but nothing too serious. I have been riding like this fopr about a year and a half and have yet to cut my shifter and brake lever. It is a little far, but I don't even notice it anymore. broke
  12. I wish people would quit mistaking me for this dipshit........."brokestonedbiker"
  13. Popeye, Where were you when I was building mine? Killer deal, almost good enough of a deal to start over and build a stroker. Good luck, you shouldn't have a problem selling at that price. broke
  14. I wasn't implying that you had the same problems. I was just trying to make a point as far as set up. I'm sure you will figure it out. broke
  15. I only hear one person so far having a problem with their Passion motor. I might be something minor or just a bad set up. There are so many variables that come into play when tuning a motor. It took me almost a year to really get mine running the way it should, but that was because I couldn't afford the set up the builder recommended to me. Pipes and carbs were a night and day difference on my motor. broke
  16. Meat, This is just a thought. I had a problem like that when I was building the RZ. It screwed with me enough I almost took a hammer to the quad. By the time it was all said and done it turned out to be a ground that worked about 97% of the time. What I ended up doing for the nightmare of an electrical system is made a master ground. I have a ground wire that ties into the front and the back of the frame that I made sure was grounded well. I then took all the components that had seperate grounds and soldered the ground wire from the component to the master ground. I then didn't have to worry about the iffy grounding anymore. I am now able to track any grounding issues back to 2 points and I have a back up if the wire happens to break free at any point. No matter what breaks or what's loose, I know that it's always grounded. If you think it is an electrical component, I have a complete 99 electrical system sitting here you are welcome to try any part of. Good luck, broke
  17. Sorry about that. I haven't been checking this post, just PM's. Banchetta, pipes are sold. Stan, Make me an offer on the plastics. mybadbanshee, Yes I do have an axle nut. FoxBansheeRacing, what kind of exhaust clamps are you looking for? DirtRider, no those parts will go with the plastics.
  18. I've got one that came off a low hour 99. SLight amount of rust starting but other than that it's in great shape. And it was taken off with the right flywheel puller. Make an offer. Thanks, Jay
  19. I've never tried the billet polish, but the Mothers Mag & Aluminum polish is great. I use it on just about everything. broke
  20. Will post pictures of parts as I get them stripped off of bike. Everything seems to be in nice condition except crank. Also have PTR midranges for sale. Pipes look nice, have minor surface rust on bottom center of pipes, and blueing where they attach to the cylinders. One Badge is missing. Silencers have cracks at the welds where they bolt to stinger tubes. They are available with or with out silencers. Anyone with aluminum welding knowledge would be able to fix them easily. I am trying to arrange to get them fixed. Toomey 2:1 aircleaner with UNI filter Stock carbs With Vitos caps and idle kit installed. Blue radiator and fuel tank plastics in nice shape. They have 2 minor stress marks that can be seen in pics. Has white front and rear plastics. Minor scuffs, no cracks, uncut fronts, just has tool compartment cut out for some reason. No rips in seat, nice shape also. White front and rear shocks. PM with offers. Pics can be taken of any parts. broke
  21. pics of pipes, will get some of silencers.
  22. What is on it as far as a rear shock? broke
  23. If there is one thing I have seen with 450 is they reward bad riders. You don't even have to know how to ride to get one of them to move. A Banshee is alot trickier to ride. Most of the races I have seen have come done to poor Banshee riders vs. 450's. Not to insult the 450 one bit, but it's so easy to ride. It's got plenty of power, great traction and it's light, if you're not fast on it, there is a problem. broke
  24. Faded, The controllers are fairly easy to come by and aren't too expensive either. Ebay is a great spot to find the odds and ends for RZ's. Anyway, I have a flywheel if somebody buys the motor. PM and here's a bump. broke
