its very simple to do. ive done tons of them with no jig and had no alignment issues. leave your carrier bolted on tight. cut the tabs off back at the cross piece. shorten and reweld. its a piece of cake. i can do one in about an hour.
magnum clutch basket, new factory pressure plate and inner hub and a FAST clutch...PM FASTOYS here for a price. i run this exact setup in my 4mm and 10mm cubs and it hold up very very well...
what kinda tires? generally cutting out every other row is for straight line acceleration. i noticed with my cut knarlys that theyll slide a lot more from sideto side and on the street you might as well forget hookin up. id stay away from cutting anything unlss youre just going straight.
tell her if she cant turn the motherfucker around she has no business riding it. what happens if she gets crooked on a trail? she needs to be able to handle the bike. i can assure you that 450 is gonna be easier to handle than a big heavy craptor...i still say 450 is the way to go..reverse isnt gonna help her if shes rubber side up!
i say NEITHER..have your stock cylinders woods or dune ported, buy some bigger carbs, new pipes, intakes and a head and bam, perfect trail bike...i wouldnt fuck with cubs or cheetahs for your application..
that kawi is gonna shape up to be just like the suzuki..not as fast as the yfz450. id go with yfz450. who really needs reverse? get off and turn it around..and efi?? who needs that anyway? im perfectly happy with my carbs..(that i cant tune) (inside joke kinda)
good point. my only argument is that its nice to be familiar with your motor in case something goes wrong. if he gets it back and something goes wrong after 6 months, hes still got no experience..other than that, yea itd be nice to get the motor, slap it in and ride..
