  1. june 13 at 10AM! plan on it! man, ive been out tons of times in mankato. gotten absolutely wasted there. its a blast up there.
  2. i havent even used the contour yet. i will let you know just as soon as i do. its a very good quality unit and i havent heard anything bad about them.
  3. yes, the coil grounds to its mounting tabs on the frame.
  4. its a snap ring i believe. it goes in between the gear and the inside of the case. sounds like people are coming out of the woodwork about these trannies.
  5. just cut a couple loops off of each spring. problem solved.
  6. i ran my 2-4 regular duneable for 4 years and never had an issue. i rode the shit out of that thing. i downshifted it without the clutch all the time. sometimes after a bad run id be pissed and stomp on the shift lever. when i tore it apart last year i had one shift fork with some wear on it. the other two were fine.
  7. its hard to say. WCR thinks its one thing, but i can say that i feel pretty confident that the clip not being there has something to do with it. if your trannys dont have the clip, i would make sure it gets put in before you run it. thats what keeps 1st gear from rubbing on the case.
  8. yep, same issue spurdy's bike had. 1st gear was rubbing the case. there was no clip on his transmission to keep 1st gear away from the case. it looked to me that the springs they had on the gear shaft were forcing everything towards the clutch.
  9. yea, i know that FAST has already sent a couple back. i think spurdy's is the 3rd to break that came from FAST alone..
  10. i used a gopro all of last year. its solid.. i wanted to try one of the new vholdr contour hd so i picked one of those up. its a nice unit as well.. here is one of my helmet cam videos with the gopro..
  11. yep. shannon(spurdy) whose WCR 1-5 N down extreme duneable fucked up at my house a few weeks back talked to WCR and thats what they told him. apparently, last year they were using a spring on the rear tranny shaft where they are now using a spacer. thats what they think is causing the problem. i am not convinced thats what caused his tranny to go bad. i was noticing yesterday on a stock tranny that there is a clip inside the tranny case right behind the idler gear but before the gear. his tranny didnt have that clip and the gear was rubbing the inside of the case. i believe thats what caused the tooth to break off the gear.
  12. i agree. WCR has already had more extreme duneables come back this year than all of last year together.
  13. so which gear is actually rubbing the case? is it the one directly behind the idler gear? im pretty sure it was 1st gear when i looked at my clymers.
  14. well if they dont want to tear down then its an immediate DQ. simple as that. if you enter a class and win, there is no reason to not tear down to see if youre legit. if you have nothing to hide, take 30 mins and pull the top end. otherwise, these guys obviously have something to hide.
  15. i was witness to a WCR tranny grenading itself. broke a tooth off 1st gear i think it was. what WCR is saying is that they used to use a spring where they now use a spacer. apparently thats been the cause of numerous trannys being returned this year. upon further investigation, i believe that WCR forgot to install a clip on the rear transmission shaft right behind the idler gear. this allowed the gear to slide all the way against the cases which caused the actual failure. personally, i have not been impressed with what ive heard about their "bulletproof" transmissions. i have had a 2-4 duneable for years now and never had an issue. i rarely use the clutch when downshifting and i had one shift fork after 4 years of use that had some wear on it.
  16. did you start out in first and run up through the gears? either way, youre going to have to tear the motor back apart.
  17. where did the transmission come from? who cut it?
  18. i would imagine that a straight paddle will be best. you want forward motion and no paddle will provide as much as a straight paddle.
  19. what kind of override is it? so the kicker wont move and the shifter is stuck as well? have you tried pulling the clutch in and seeing if it will start?
  20. yes it has, like 12 years ago.
  21. FAST has them. call jeff and he can get you setup for your weight and swingarm length. 785-364-5325
  22. the way they do this at the national hillclimbs is to do a teardown after the races are over. obviously, the open class doesnt matter and doesnt require teardown but the classes with cc restrictions usually tear down the top 3.
  23. what the hell is european desert grass? theres a desert in europe?
