  5. if you ride with it up all the time, when you run out of gas thats it.. youre done. by riding with it in the ON position if you run out of gas, you can always put it on reserve to get you back to where ever your gas is.

  17. i agree, ditch the works. i cant understand why anyone would want to put money into works shocks or a stock rear shock. by the time its all said and done, for not much more money you can have quality elkas built to your specs.
  18. is it just a factory on/off kill switch? obviously the gas tank has nothing to do with it. you need to make sure nothing came apart and that there are no bare wires touching. it sounds like one of your plugs came undone.
  19. the keihins are very popular for their ease of tuning. they are very simple to get dialed in and if youre having some issues, chances are that someone here has your exact same setup and carbs. the stock mikunis work great and will outflow a stock motor easily. when its time to go bigger though, i feel the best bang for the buck lies with the keihins. it seems that most builders feel this way too as most will recommend keihin over mikuni.
  20. i really cant do anything to remedy this situation. kenny is not one of my sponsors. while i have talked with kenny on the phone, i cannot control him or make him do anything. i really got the impression from him that he was a pretty nice guy, so i hope maybe there is an explanation for this.. however, its not looking good. i suggest spreading the word until he comes through with some answers.

  24. it has to be cut behind the shock mount. you can take a couple inches out pretty easily. i recommend cutting the rear off with the carrier installed so the mounting tabs dont move. then mock it all back up and weld it. its a good idea to put some extra braces on it as well. you will also want to pull some measurements from the pivot tube to the carrier to make sure its sitting in there square before you weld it up.
  25. thats about a +5 or +6. stock is about 19" from center of pivot bolt to center of carrier.
