  1. i agree.
  2. im not hostile, im just trying to show you that itp and maxxis have been revamping their junk tires for years. there is nothing new about them other than a little different tread pattern or using a racers name on the side. changing the spacing by just a little does nothing for the tire. if ohtsu was to come out with a tire and sponsor a rider, of course the rider is going to take free tires for every race. then, all you would hear about is how great they were. thats how advertising works and its obviously working for maxxis and itp. as you know i run dirt hillclimbs. there is no other type of riding where hooking up is more important. most of the time, the holeshot makes or breaks a hillclimb run. when i first started climbing i tried out probably 10-15 sets of tires to find the hardest hooking tire. nothing by itp or maxxis even came close. the tires that really shined were ones you rarely hear about, unless its someone like me saying theyre good. those companies rely on word of mouth to sell tires because they either dont have the money to advertise in a magazine or dont want any overhead. i dont have any ohtsus i wanna sell. they are worth every penny of what they cost from FAST. ive seen them in action at hillclimbs and on my brothers yfz450. they are the real deal. they hook hard and dont weigh a ton. you can roll your eyes all you want at the "honda tires" but they will out hook any itp or maxxis tires. i bet you roll your eyes at the stock yfz450 tires too huh? they are another underrated tire and you can pick them up for next to nothing.
  3. sounds like something is off on your build. even at 22cc domes you should be higher than 100 psi. who built the motor? why did they use a spacer plate?
  4. check out the first link. it gives all the info.
  5. we will need more info. rider weight, swingarm length and riding area will help.
  6. trinity's customer service has always sucked. i wouldnt buy anything from them let alone have them do any motor work.
  7. yep, tim is a good dude.
  8. i recommend you put a 27.5 pilot in there. the 280 might be pretty close. you need to do a wide open throttle plug check to see what the plugs look like. white = lean tan = good black = rich gearing will depend on your mods, swingarm length, rider weight and terrain. if youre riding any kind of tight trails, i would probably stay with what you have.
  9. anything but trinity.. cpi, shearers, rockets, t-5.. i would recommend all of those over trinity's high priced junk.
  10. the kicker actually hits on the factory foot peg if i remember correctly. im pretty sure it has a flat spot on it where it stops. if its hitting that, its fine.
  11. i dont see why you need to do any of that. its just a seal. it should pop right out of there. i dont see any need to have pulled the clutch cover. try screwing a small screw into the seal or using a very small screw driver. it shouldnt be that hard to come out. otherwise, yes you will have to take the clutch basket off to get the shift shaft out.
  12. it only take 3 mins to give someone the info to issue the refund. dunny, please keep us updated on this.
  13. they prolly are built like shit. cool looking though.
  14. wow, thats no good. brooke was a really cool chick that used to frequent here all the time back in the day. she was probably worse than any guy when it came to stirring the pot. she was always up for a good argument or debate. i havent talked to her for a couple years and had no idea of her condition.
  15. bullshit. those tires are a gimmick just like the rest of the ballance junk. itp and maxxis both make overpriced and overrated tires. ive tried most of them. they are all built the same way. ive checked out the new ballance tire and they offer more of the same old nonsense. the ONLY reason that people buy them is because they see them in dirtwheels and think they must be something special. please tell me whats new about them? seriously. here are a bunch of tires that are all exactly the same.. its the same damn tire with a little different spacing on each. one gimmick after another. i mean how many different combos can you come up with using the X-lug? when youre ready to try a REAL good hooking tire let me know. i bet your bike wont even turn them over. bullshit. no racer is using anything other than what is given to them for free. its called a sponsorship. of course they are gonna use those tires when they get a new set every race. any of the non-advertised tires can do what the high priced ones can do. throw some tire balls in ANY tire and of course its gonna work. doesnt matter if it goes flat or not. but i forgot, bill ballance says his own tires are AWESOME so i should go get some!! /end hype
  16. if not, i know that FAST carries them.
  17. haha i was just stirring the pot. the debate could go on forever! i could make a point for hillclimbing, but in reality they both take a lot of skill in different aspects.
  18. ok, well how about drag racing and hillclimbing? which takes more skill?
  19. any idea on weight difference between the two motors? i dont recall saying anything about it not being duneable. you could virtually dune ride anything. and im not comparing different rider weights and all that. rider skill and weight equal, a 4mm cub properly setup should run circles around a streetbike setup. ive had both, so im not just talking about something ive never ridden. and these days, a 4mm cub setup can be had for less than $1200. im not arguing with you by any means about what can and cant be done, because ive been there and done that. i just think for the time and money spent on the build, there are better alternatives.. plus, if i was going to do it, a banshee frame would be my last choice obviously.
  20. this isnt ebay. post some prices and you will sell your stuff.
  21. chrome rear brake lever lemme know what you got.. PM me prices and pics.
  22. sweet lookin bike man!
  23. if you get out of the hole hard with the proper gearing, you will take him every time. if hes just a better rider and is getting the holeshot, then you might be screwed. stay away from the dirt against him. the 4 strokes dont have the wheel speed that the banshees do and get better traction off the line, unless youre set up perfectly for dirt. i would lose the boost bottle to as they have been known to crack the intake boots. they dont do anything anyway.
  24. shouldve gone with the ohtsus. they hook harder than any tire mentioned in this thread. ive run all those other tires except for the new gimmick bill ballance tires and the ohtsus hook harder than all of them.
