    Might want to do a leak down. Don't want to jet around an air leak. Good thing to do when you buy a used banshee and after a fresh rebuild. Your pulling the carbs anyways. It's a piece of mind and cheap insurance.

    Carbs probably have tors still. You can get an eliminator kit for about 30-40 bucks. Worth every penny. Google leak down test+banshee hq. Then buy a clymers manual. All stock carbs on banshees are 26 mm Mikunis.

    You need to tear the carbs down and clean them really good. I boil mine or use an ultra sonic cleaner. Those are not absolutely necessary, but you can't be too clean. Then set floats to 21mm. Since you have the carbs off, do a leak down test for shits and giggles. Also post back here with jet sizes and temps you are riding in.

    Probably an air leak. 40:1 isn't the culprit.
