  1. I'm setting up my squish, with the base gasket it's at .070 . The base gasket I have is .020 thick. How many of you guys run with out the base gasket? And what kind of sealant would I use to glue the cylinder down? It's a 65 mm bore ss cub.
  2. Clutch material...
  3. welding the crank keeps it from moving out of phase. Are you gonna be up in the rpms all the time? do you ever plan on racing your buddy's?Weld it up and then you will have one less thing to worry about when your wide open at 8000 rpms. some of the wiesco cranks i have seen were not rebuild able due to the center sections. i was told by an atv shop around me, that the newer ones are Chinese junk.
  4. yep bigger carbs will be easier to tune I bet.
  5. If all you have is a rad cover just buy everything else to match it. Why would anyone want to collect parts for a roller that doesn't exist yet? You know your gonna have doubles of some things and none of others. That's why you were called a dumb ass or whatever.
  6. A Plug chop will tell you if you need more fuel or not, I bet their lean and dry.
  7. That's what I like to hear...I'm running 34mm carbs, V Force 3's and CPI in frames. Shooting for av gas, or race gas, haven't decided.
  8. when I ordered all of it, it was supposed to be a 421. I figured a 358 cub needs it anyway, besides it wouldn't shift under power. I would get one good pass out of every five.
  9. I agree . Most guys that ask "what mods will make my banshee faster"? Aren't running welded Cylinders . Does this guy need 38s with a 300 port job? And with t 5s. That's a waste of money unless he goes cub or spends a grand on his stock cylinders.
  10. I ordered a lock up and billet basket, clutches and steals from matt at SCP. I'm waiting on the lock up and pistons. Got the trans cut and back together. I still need custom domes and I'm kicking around the idea of sending the cylinder out for porting. I weigh around 150 lbs so I'm thinking it should run pretty hard. The guys I ride with all have bigger set ups and I'm wanting to hang with them.
  11. Thanks for the info. Getting some from lowes tomorrow.
  12. Yeah, sorry just a little annoyed. It had stroker 17 cc domes in it. With .060 squish. At least the crank was welded.
  13. It's a cub cylinder, which is plated. If it could be bored I wouldn't because my plating is still ok except a small spot of aluminum transfer. I heard some type of acid wil take it off.
  14. Got a clean 421 that just shrunk to a 358 cub. Right before my eyes. I had to split the case to do some trans mods and then I find the 513 65 mm pistons Hmmm... Well it's not a long rod... And it's only a 65 mm bore... I told the guy when I bought it that it's prolly a stock stroke, wish I was wrong.. Now whats the diff between a 358 and 421 cub? As far as power, from what I've seen around the forums is around 8 to 10 hp I know it won't have the torque.
  15. Also check the pick up coil gap.
  16. a sheared key will usually cause back firing. but still spark. So it blows your finger off. OK what kind of finger .. French, Asian, Better yet which finger ? There is more to your spark then just a coil and stator. A faulty CDI can cause loss of spark when warmed up. If your loosing your headlamps it may be the stator or rectifier.
  17. Who wants to start taking bets? I say it's a carb boot cracked.. Right side.
  18. Sounds like it's hanging up at the slides or cable. Make sure the slides are not backwards. Maybe you should do a leak down in case your leaning out.
  19. trade ya sbsf cpi inframes. great condition. worth a try
  20. His cases his money. I say go for it and if he ruins them, he can support the banshee community by buying some more cases to start the process over. I have a set of whacked cases i may sell.
  21. One step up from the 400ex...
  22. I agree with sprinklerman down by the river.
  23. Glad to hear your feeling better, YOU SICK BASTARD
  24. just go all the way through and use clear urethane that way you can see your rods go around...... Or take off a little at a time until the rotating assembly clears. Are you planning to use a hand grinder?? If so post pics of before and after..
  25. how does it run? Is it running on both cylinders? check your spark,It could be the cap in the spark plug boot, or a coil going south. Im guessing you have checked your main jet?? check your slide and needle, I had a needle causing a rich condition, it had worn grooves down the side.
