if your bike is leaking coolant while its running and not while its shut off.......then its a problem with a blown gasket somewhere inside your bike as the compression is pressurizing the coolant passages and shouldn't be.

NICE lookin bike Mikee... the dual foot pegs on each side to put more weight on the rear for launches?
-
no....disconnecting the little black box under the gas tank on the left side will not effect anything else. it is the brain box for the TORS system. The TORS boxes are just giant housing that hold micro-switches to sense if the throttle lever is in the idle position and the carb slide is in the open position.....thus cutting your ignition to stop the chances of a run away bike. if your just adjusting the idle screws on top of the TORS boxes then it raises and lowers the idle by raising or lowering the carb slide. To FULLY ensure that each carb is getting the correct amount of air you need to purchse a carb sync tool which meters the amount of air being sucked into each carb.

when you change your plugs try switching the plug wires and see if the miss fire switches to the left cylinder.....thus allowing you to tell if your problem is a fuel or a electric problem

hey chris....you build your bikes out of a building or out of your house? just curious as i like seeing sponsors in the area!

yes pro-circuits are good for trail pipes........however FMF fatties are also good for trail riding. i have fatties on my bike and it runs hard in the trails. The pro-circuits will have a little more over-rev over the fmf pipes though...

Banshee cuts out at mid throttle
Jereme6655 replied to salmon_slayer06's topic in General Banshee Discussion
if its colder now than it was when you dialed in your jetting then your bike may ahve that dead spot from being lean. yes you need to jump your main jet sizes as the weather drops as there is more air molecules in a given cubic area when its cold......the air is actually denser. im not entirely sure on how much of a temp causes the need for larger jets......i believe ive heard before that every 25 degree drop needs to be richened by one main jet size.... -
Im between 13 and masonic on kelly in fraser

I ride with blueangel up in Mio where we have a cottage....Larry's shee is another guy who rides up in Mio......where do you ride?

sounds like it could have been someone who didn't quite understand compression and the need for higher octane fuel. That is why your head is pitted....its had deto....more than likely cause someone ran either shit fuel through it or someone had some compression raising mods before and didn't want to pay for better fuel....

There's a few of us roaming around here that are in the metro detroit. Im in fraser....i know a few guys that are close to me. Where you at emt?

well.....that's rebuild levels.......anything under 100 is considered to be low to where you need to rebuild. Should be up in the area of 125 each side. Also a plug chop is to check to see whether your jetted correctly.....warm up bike...shut bike off and put in BRAND NEW spark plugs.....start quad and instantly go 1-5gear holidng the throttle wide open the entire time. When you hit the top of 5th gear.....pull in clutch and shut motor off and coast to a stop. Then install old plugs and take new plugs home with you.....cut off the threads and look to see color of burn ring.....should be like a milk choclate - tan color if jetted correct. darker = richer lighter = leaner.

i think there are only a few things that allow coolant to mix with oil. i know the impellar seals tend to go and cause milky oil........another one is the head gasket. and i believe the third one but for the life of me i can't think of what it is....
-
to check compression........put in your compression checker into one of the spark plug holes (you should look to ensure that the adaptor that screws into the hole is the same length as the threaded section on the spark plug) then with the ignition OFF and the bke in neutral..... hold the throttle WIDE open....and kick the motor over and over until the needle on the compression guage stops climbing....

Proper Clothing for Banshee Riding/Racing?
Jereme6655 replied to KarTek's topic in General Banshee Discussion
dont forget that most tracks will require your bike to be safety wired, tether switched and also have nerfbars WITH heel guards... -
jus tmake sure that your ready to be laughed at when you roll up with a raptor looking banshee......

what you SHOULD be doing when it comes to buying pistons is having the cylinders measured and the guy saying "yep....gonna need to be bored to .020 over. THEN you should order your new pistons at .020 over. THEN they should be bored out TO THE DIMENSION OF THE PISTONS THAT ARRIVED.

haha.....windy was just saying it how some of us see it. It happens so often now and some of these guys (kids mostly) jack up their grammer SO bad that it takes about 4 people trying to decipher what the hell they were trying to say. We've seen some of them where no one has even bothered to respond because no one wanted to deal with the person typing it. The BHQ has ALL ages.........really young teens to a few 60+ guys that were kicking around here. That's what makes this site/sport great. There are not a whole lot of sports where both a "almost" senior citizen can get out there and still lift the front end up in the air and amaze kids who are 20....and get praised for their skills. We just hate seeing things typed like "u guys r gr8" it takes our old brains way too long to process what that kind of shit says. Dont even think about us trying to decipher that after drinking either. That will just be a sloppy mess. Either way many have figured that a few/lot of guys will give shit to people who type like that.......but have realized also they can get EVERYONE to understand their questions and get alot more responses if they just typed it out for 18 seconds more.

Very excited for my new banshee motor
Jereme6655 replied to SteveCZ28's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Good to see another person has been helped out by this site.... and good job on tearing your motor apart (and from what it sounds) re-assembling it and doing a good job and taking your time. alot of people out there just slap them together and melt them down again and scratch their head....then point the finger at the machine shop. -
Wiseco pro-lites. They are forged as opposed to some cast pistons and hold up great to abuse. And our sponsors also recommend them.....and seeing some of the power theycan pull from a 350atv is incredible to have pistons hold up....

Just bought a seized Banshee off craigslist...
Jereme6655 replied to rocky_mtn_yamaha's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Yup.....like Larry said....get whole a NYUK. He deals in parts for us.......good prices too. He can hook you up with a used stock stroke crank that is still tight for a Damn good price.
