  1. i've changed the oil a few times and it still happens. the coolant is a little low and there doesn't appear to be any oil in it. Do i have to pull the entire clutch cover or can i just take off the little cover on it that's held on by three screws?
  2. just had my bike rebuilt. checked the oil and it looks like milk/cream. I highly doubt the head is leaking. where would this leak be? the water impeller? do i need to take off the entire clutch cover to get at it? i could use a little help here. thanks.
  3. I checked my trans fluid today and there was white foam on the dipstick. That means there's water getting into the transmission, right? I just had the motor rebuilt and the bike hasn't even seen rain so i'm a little confused. What do you guys think?
  4. It runs i just need to give it a little gas to get it to idle. I have new plugs and plenty of compression. i played with the throttle cable and idle screws but still can't get this thing to idle.
  5. Where my header pipe meets the silencer leaks pretty bad, long story short there used to be a homemade rubber fitting with hose clamps over it but they're gone now. Anyone know the best way to fix it that will keep it looking clean? Second I just rebuilt my bike and it won't idle. It didn't idle when i got it but it blew up the day after so i figured the whole about to seize factor was the issue. Anyway I'm at about 300ft above sea level with stock carbs, full fmfs, wiesco pistons bored .06 over. Anyone know what my jets should be? What's a good kit to buy and how much is all this going to cost me?
  6. Where my header pipe meets the silencer is leaking. The guy before my had a make shift rubber thing with hose clamps over it which worked ok but but looked terrible. I rebuilt the top end and in the process somehow lost the little rubber things. Is there a legit part im supposed to buy or is there something i can make myself? preferably something that will look good.
  7. look into some low voltage l.e.ds. I think I'd like to give it a shot too
  8. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Banshee-YFZ350-Adj-Timing-Plate-10_W0QQitemZ250588358565QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_ATV_Parts_Accessories?hash=item3a583ae7a5 Should I get this timing plate for $30 or is it cheap for a reason?
  9. the carbs are stock. Can I get the crank welded at a regular machine shop?
  10. my buddy has a sand blaster so i'm going to give that a shot. My pipes were rusted so I tried using a DA on it which worked but I think the sand will give it a better look. I can send you some pictures when I finish it if your curious.
  11. I have an 89 that's in the process of getting rebuilt right now. It has full fmfs, v forces, and just got a cool head with 20cc domes. I'm about 300 feet above sea level temp ranges from freezing to 90s Don't know my compression yet I'd like to use 93 octane fuel, would I need something stronger for the new domes? What should i jet my carb to? I'd like to get a timing plate while everything is apart would that affect my jets? Would I set it to +4 and what fuel would I use? possibly drilling the box for a little more power? I don't have the money to my jugs get ported right now but is there anything else you guys recommend while the motor is apart? Maybe getting the crank welded? can an average shop do that? Is it expensive? I also have boysen reeds I can use, which is better? I'd like to have a fast motor but something reliable, am I going in the right direction? I'm looking to shut down a yfz450 and the rest of those 4 stroke punks Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.
