  1. so your saying that alcohol makes more power? i thought it was only more stable so you could make more compression without deto.....
  2. Jeff did a dune/play port on my bike.....took it out to do a plug chop. Hit 3rd.....almost shit when i saw nothin but sky halfway through 3rd.
  3. if you dropped it off and it was not doing this then i would take it back to that shop and tell them to get their shit straight and fix it. You paid to have your bike fixed......not a 30 minute fix. Perferably tell them that you are unsatisfied with their work....SHOW them that the bike takes a shit and tell them you want at least the money you paid in labor back.
  4. holy dog shit. that is AWSOME. how hard were you laughing when you saw that?
  5. not bad man......id just throw those 30's in and see how it likes it......my bike runs slightly better with 30's in it than 27.5's its just about how you tune it and how good you are at tuning it.....
  6. thanks sandrider.....guess i didn't clarify that the T does go above the motor but under the carbs....my bad
  7. Anyone email this guy yet and tell him his shit is ugly as hell?
  8. haha....no coup i know there are oof drag pipes that dont run silencers.....i meant if your carbs are tuned for running with the added pressure of the stinger. ive tried to get 2 different 2strokes running without pipes.....never had them actually fire without the pipe....but if they will....shit..haha...sorry about that bad info! Thanks for setting me straight coup.
  9. and also.....methanol doesn't make more power.....its more stable....meaning you can run more COMPRESSION to MAKE more power while keeping the chances of detonation lower. This allows you to throw more power out of the motor while being safer.
  10. the dealer is $80 a hole? wow. Damn that's still expensive. We like to send our stuff to our site sponsors because these guys eat sleep and breathe these bikes. They know all the tricks that you need to pay attention to these bikes....like even to chamfer the exhuast and intake ports so they don't hang up a ring......alot of shops (that dont do 2 strokes alot) either don't know about this or forget to do it. Also......our site sponsors can get the parts for you incredibly cheaper. For instance.....at FAST (farmandsandtoys.com) Jeff has listed on his website a COMPLETE top end gasket kit (including exhaust gaskets) where as yamaha wants $25 alone just for the head gasket. If you bought those gaskets from the dealer.... head gasket $25.82 base gaskets $25.28 (for 2) exhaust o-rings $5.68 (for 2) reed gaskets $7.68 (for 2) radiator hose gasket $2.59 Total : $67.05 for a freaking topend GASKET set from the dealer. not trying to be a dick or anything....im just trying to save you money, time, and get you great service.....all while trying to keep our amazing site sponsors up and in business! 11. well....5-10% is actually what is said to be "acceptable" for riding. however i wouldnt ride my bike that way. What i would suggest is also doing a leakdown test next. THEN start slowly pulling it down and inspecting as you go.....could be the rings let go....could be the chamfer on your exhaust ports wasn't good enough and started to snag a ring. Could be a cracked pistons. or an egg shapped cylinder.....etc etc etc.
  12. just wait til you get the 27.5's in it. it will really wake up from idle.
  13. oh boy. yes the tranny pressure is relieved through those two hoses. but everyone is giving you different locations. This is where they are SUPPOSED TO BE ROUTED. One leaves the back of the motor by the motor mount.....its a bitch to get to. The other exits out the top of the clutch cover...... they JOIN UP using a T-fitting ABOVE THE motor towards the front of the bike.......then from there a single line (also attached to the T-fitting) runs them up near the handle bars. This is where they have them routed stock.
  14. okay.....silencers are stingers. SO....if it falls of then your performance (like said before) will be down because lack of back pressure. will it run without it? YES. You already found out it will still run without it. Next..... your bike WILL NOT run if your pipe actually falls off......you NEED the back pressure of the pipe for them to run. and will it hurt to ride it without the silencer on......yes...if you ride long enough. But you gotta do what you gotta do to get back. if you limp it and take it very easy for a very short distance it will be fine. But don't think you can go rip on it for 10 miles and expect it to stay running great....
  15. how much snow do you have on the lake? if you're only talking like 3-4 inches at a time cause it blows off alot then get yourself a old set of tires....really doesn't matter tread life and go get some snowmobile studs.....just make sure you put a little silicone around them on the inside. We do it here for lake st. clair. siht's scary when you see a guy pushin his cr500 across the parking lot with a rear time FULL of 1.25" studs out his rear tire. I don't quite understand how those 2 wheelers feel safe out there on the ice......ill stick to 4 wheels....thanks.
  16. i wanna know what the fuck is up with his hair? watch next time he turns around.....i can't tell if he's got a mullet that he curls the back.....or whether he's got dingle-berrys on the back of his head....
  17. if you said you dont' want to go OVER $1000......shit....you can rebuild it a couple times for that price. If you order pistons from Jeff at fast its like $185 or something like that....and say $30 for gaskets and $100 for bore/hone. so for roughly right around $300 plus any extras you might want you can rebuild the topend......alot of times people over estimate the price of rebuilding the top end......its really not that hard or expensive to rebiuld a 2-stroker.
  18. for fmf fatties and a aftermarket filter my buddy is runnin 270-280 mains. that being said and it being colder for racin on the ice....id be lookin at runnin at least 300. hell i'd probably start around a 300-320 and plug chop it from there.
  19. what im more concerned about.....what in the SHIT did those people do to fold those pipes up like that? i mean damn! but i would definately need to say that company seems to do a good job...
  20. wow.....mr bling seriously making your stuff shine. Like your idea on the seats....i just don't care for the actual font that the lettering is in......ive never like that kind haha. probably cause i can never read that......makes me wonder.....people who put stuff like that all over there car......why waste the money for their graphics if no one can read it. But its totally different that you got your last name and your sons name on the bike....bikes lookin like its gonna be bad ass and sounds like its gonna be a runner!
  21. sounds like you got two things working against you here.....1) the 280 mains.....as the air gets colder outside it gets denser...more air per cubic volume than when its hot. I think its around every 25 degree drop you need to richen your main by one size. 2) Your still running a stock 25 pilot jet. FMF fatties and most aftermarket pipes really like 27.5 pilots. i bet it will start much easier. HOWEVER.....cold weather and easy engine starting dont really go together......all engines will be a little harder to start.
  22. lms is right.....gotta have your carbs set up for alchy....OR you could buy a different set of carbs already for alchy.....then its just a switch to run gas. You'll also need to modify your fuel cap as it will then start to cause fuel flow issues because it will basically pull your tank under a vacuum......not a large enough hole to let in air fast enough to the tank. also you need to look into how available alchy is in your area. And if you want it to last your going to have to purge the bike everytime you ride it.....
  23. you disabled the TORS. it will work the way you have it currently. but the carb top kit makes it SO much easier to wrench on your bike in that area. there is a switch in your thumb throttle housing.....however its totally fine....unless your going to remove the wiring you dont' have to disconnect that.
  24. with the jetting it depends if you have anything else done to your motor......what about an air filter? if you have an after-market filter i'd suggest somewhere in the realm of 270-290. the reeds will not need more jetting when installing... im not totally sure about the head.....however i believe you would have to re-jet after that.
  25. if your having to use the choke to keep it running there are 2 different things.....however they both basically equall the same thing. your either really lean on your mains....or your out of gas in the tank......yes choking a empty tank WILL get you a few more seconds of run time. seen it confuse the shit out of owners before....either of these problems are not good for a 2 stroke. also i wouldn't run it anymore until you put those new jets in.....don't wanna do any premature damage...
