  1. We all know that your trying to say you need pistons. But we at all Goofing cause HOT RODS does NOT make pistons!!! They are a crank company. And why do you only need ONE? If rebuilding the motor and one was broken straight out of the box.....then I get that. If anything else....you replace them as sets......not individually. And now is when you need to be real specific when your giving us info about your bike.......is it a short rod or a long rod....depends what length it is for the piston wrist pin offset.
  2. Put the kicker back on and have some one tap it while you REALLY kick it like a MAN. Not slow and soft...kick it like a you would a red headed step child that wrecked your new bike...
  3. Look between the carbs....is the choke tube there between the carbs? If its not......swoop that thing for like 600 cause it's not running and then throw that tube between the crabs and kick that thing up!!!
  4. Yes most of us have heard of Vito's. There are mixed results with them.....some do good and swear by them....others have had their pistons blow up into shrapnel and wipe out a good motor. Others have had tried mild port jobs and the Vito's power pistons (meant to "simulate" a port job) on their trails rigs and almost killed themselves because they wound up with more of a drag port after the combo and almost couldnt control it in the woods. My advice is to go with wiseco as it is what almost all the builders on here will recommend.....I mean shit.....these guys make their living in the atv business...if they do junk work they get junk reviews. And I haven't heard of a bad review of any of our sponsors yet.
  5. Bees is right....these machines can lay you up with a big bill if you weren't the one who built it. That being said.....you said earlier tha you have never owned a banshee.....have you ever ridden anything before? Not trying to be an ass.....just curious because the modded banshees aren't really beginner kind of machines. They create power that makes the veteran riders here smile......and when it's up on the pipe it's not gonna be we rider friendly...
  6. Hot rods does not make or carry any pistons for any year banshee. Even on their website they only offer cranks, gaskets, connecting rods and crank bearings. So the question we have for is...what the hell is a hot rods 2.0 piston and who is screwing with you by telling you that you should have hot rod pistons ?
  7. You say that you honed and replaced the pistons and rings......but did you bore the cylinders? It could be that the jugs were already starting to be out of spec when the thieves burned the motor up.....chances are it isn't starting because you need it bored. They really need more than 100 psi to start.....and even if the rings AREN'T seated yet..l.l.30psi is a lot to make up
  8. It's a micro switch that is in the throttle assembly if I'm correct".......however you don't need to worry about that because it is disabled as soon as you disconnected that little black TORS brain box....
  9. For compression tests your going to gt different responses for whether it needs to be warmed up or not.... For a leak down test....unless your work fast as lightning and use oven gloves....it ain't gonna be warm when you actually test it as you have to remove the exhaust and the carbs....
  10. If you can build a CAT engine then your obj out 60 times over qualified. Is not hard at all. Hell.....if you've go the fluids drained I bet most could get the motor tore down for rebuild and have the cases split within 30-45 minutes
  11. How about a jack or an ATV jack to get your bike off the ground In case a wheels gotta come off...
  12. Quick setting epoxy like JB QUICK
  13. What about our float height....could it be the float height is off just enough that the pipes could be filling a little bit of fuel?
  14. Umm....that isn't ncluded in the compression numbers cause the piston is already ABOVE the exhaust opening by the time the compression really starts to spiike . Did you kick until the needle stops moving? It may take quite a few number of kicks.....also are you holding your throttle wide open like you should?
  15. You'll lnotice a slight improvement.....nothing really Wild though.
  16. Not to mention that if you ever happen to let friend ride your bike.....theyll be trying to launch in like 3rd....if not fourth hahahaha
  17. Sleds be oil injected
  18. Depending on elevation and mods....usually a stock internals motor is around 125ish for comp test on average
  19. Are your trans vent lines run correctly? Like all the way up to the bars?
  20. Even though it appears that your coolant level is still in the same spot ......it doesn't take much for the tranny fluid to get milky.....hell just a little bit will make a milkshake out of your trans fluids...
  21. how was the bike running once you got it fired up? Did it pop or hesitate or run hot? Did the rpms drop immediately once you took your thumb off the throttle? Could have been from the air leak....
  22. Yeah if your kicker jammed up like that then there's something going on there.....
  23. Wow.....32.5's. Mthats pretty freaking rich....your pilots should be mor so around a 27.5 or a 30 tops....
  24. Before you tear your bike apart for a topend rebuild....... What pipes and mods do you have done to your bike? Im wondering if the extra kicking is a jetting problem or if it is in need of a rebuild. If it is just something as simple as a pilot jet that needed to be increased..... Your gonna be pissed after you spend the money for a rebuild when you only needed $6 in jets....
  25. Ok.... I bet you had an airleak that eventually turned into a piston with a hole in it. Id pull the top end and rebuild..... But pay attention to the pistons.... If it looks like it melted then just do the top end..... However if the piston looks like it broke.... Well.... Then its time to tear the cases apart and clean everything. Some will say to just rinse the cases out well but i dont trust this method..... Cause if you do miss a piece it can make its way back up the the top end and do the "cha-cha stop dance" all over your new pistons. Its not hard to split the cases.... Just buy the manual and youl be ok
