  1. Could possibly be blown gasket or stuck rings. Might only need new rings. Pistons and cylinders need to be measured for clearance , out of round , taper. That will determine what will need to be done.

  3. Clymers manual has a good blow-up of the clutch parts. Also any of the online parts places . I know what you're saying , my son's 87 was no jewel , rode hard ,put away wet !!
  4. Need one that screws in , adapter same length as plug threads.
  5. I don't claim to be a rocket scientist, but is there a chance he has a big bore and put small bore domes on it? 32 , this problem started after you put on new head ? And that's the only thing you changed?
  6. Doesn't look to bad. You'ld think he'd wash it a little better for pics. It has aftermarket arms w/ replaceable B-joints, and works shocks thats a plus.
  7. Why do you think it needs rings? Yeah do a test. Complete gasket set is about $30. Rings should be about the same. I would recomend replaceing the pin circlips if you remove them. No clue on silencer, haven't had to do it yet. I would mic bore and piston to make sure it's within tolerance or needing a bore job. Would imagine it's simular to 4poke silencer.
  8. Sure looks like the one I saw on Detroit CL.
  9. Working with engine upsidedown support shafts with wood blocks. Run nuts down on studs till just before stud protrudes. Start tapping with rubber or dead blow , working around striking each one equally. Be sure cylinder studs will not hit. Another route would be brass punch and ballpeen hammer. Do not go ape shit at it. Look for the 11th time for bolts, there is one by rear mount and one by clutch release lever.
  10. Sorry to say but slide cutaway faces the air cleaner.
  11. Welcome!! What did you pay for it ?
  12. what mods do you have and what kind of riding mostly?
  13. CL ad? What are simular going for in your area? Look it over closely for things to beat him up on price. Check ball joints closely, have to replace complete arm. 15 would be fair deal, don't think it's worth 2.
  14. Go back thru manual for assembly, might not of had push lever in correct posistion when installing push rod. Also is ball installed?
  15. Starter idle gear bushing, fix before you ride again !!Total failure may be costly !!
  16. Adjust the clutch and shift per the manual. If that doesn't help might be bad fork When you have clutch cover off inspect kick start idle gear might be wearing ,good time for new bushing and c-clip , failure may be very costly BTW idler may be your errant noise. JMO , your results may vary. BTW ,Welcome to BHQ !!
  17. My guess is spew from exhaust.
  18. No , whoever ports it will champher them at same time.
  19. Is it possible the theives rode it to death ? Maybe do a comp test . Plug caps?
  20. Sure glad you were able to translate that into English !!
  21. White smoke = coolant leak ,blue out right = crank seal .Kick start jinjle not important. Might want to do comp test . be leary if bike is already warm when you get there , hard cold start? Check ball joints ,tie rods ,swingarm , axle. Post a linc to get opinion of one your looking at , unless it's a KILLER deal ,lol . JMO, your results may vary.
  22. Possibly stator or cdi taking a dump. How did plugs look when you changed them? Check all conections and switches. X-2 on carbs.
  23. Post a linc. But have to agree with above posters.
  24. Begining to think it's cause we call it shee that these problems pop up , lol. BTW , welcome to BHQ !! If all you changed was tors elim kit , you don't need to change jets. Go back thru and double check everything . Float level, carbslide sync , slides in correct carb , needle sitting down in slide correctly, choke tobe on. By chance did you have choke plunger out? double check that. Hope this helps .
  25. So I presume that your thinking of 4mil for crank replacement as opposed to fixing present crank?
