  1. look at the top of the forums, might be a linc somewhere, I have an old school paper Clymers . Unless you have more mods than listed you sure don't need 105. IMHO, I prefer to run a heavier oil mix, 28:1 , many run 32 some 40:1
  2. Describe EXACTLY how you performed the test.
  3. If you are at the ragged edge and take one step ............... So yes, one size jet too small may make the difference, or if you are near lean at say 85* and 90% humidity and tomorrow it's 70* and 40% ................... As you lean an engine power increases as does temperatures, as you go lean from "perfect", power doesn't drop as fast as it rose from rich, BUT temps rise dramatically leading to deto or melt down. My school of thought is that plugs are cheaper than pistons, somebody is always faster, and if I leave a horse or two in the barn so be it. My name is John, but my last is not Force
  4. Try adjusting air screws in ? 1/8 - 1/4 turn at a time.
  5. Most pipes prefer 27.5 pilots. Might check for air leaks around reeds . Check through thread at top of page "What jets are you running" look for a set-up simular to yours. As to running hot you talking at idle or riding around?
  6. What jets you have now? What's rest of set-up?
  7. How close to the edge of a cliff do you stand? Try to wring that last 1/10 of a horse out and you might be posting pics of carnage. What do your plugs look like and ahat is your set-up. JMHO, your results may, and will vary
  8. quote: I said it was the jetting as well, but he claim's the mechanic he took it to has tried every different combination possible. No way in hell he tried EVERY combo. You have air screw, pilot jet, needle, main jet emulsion tube, slide cutaway, and main jet. You figure all possible combinations and I bet it would be a huge amount. Best to change only one thing at a time, but if you do try more than one, write your previous settings down so if you go back you'll get it exact. Be sure floats are same and carbs are synced. What plugs you using? Gap? Have you checked fuel petcock and tank vent? Are grounds clean and tite?
  9. I would be leary of someone with that low of a post count, didn't look at join date just looked, as of now he hasn't been a member for 24 hrs.
  10. Just seen one for sale. Look in the sale section or CL Detroit.
  11. Holy shit DDU !! I never read that, I guess if someone can't figure it out from that link, they need to sell their shit Actually might have seen it before but actually scrolled through it a little slower.
  12. So, the clutch worked before? But does not now? What exactly have you taken apart? Don't know about hydro clutch, but try pulling slave from engine and suspend it higher than master, let it set a good while to allow air to work up, then bleed. As to learning/doing yourself, a manual can tell you more than a dozen keyboards. If ball is welded it usually requires splitting cases . Read a little closer, you took hose/line off master? You have not had clutch cover off? Is there a possibility that it landed on clutch lever with engine still running?
  13. Only thing I see that wasn't swapped is the stator and flywheel. By chance are either RS ? Swapped cdi stock? Stock coils? Check/ohm ALL wires and switches, plug caps? Does it have tors or parking brake limiter? Magnets in flywheel loose or weak? Poles on stator rust free? Timing lugs clean? Has it ever run right? What does compression test say? What is the squish? What plugs being used?
  14. What size and type tires are you running?
  15. What did right plug look like? Swap plug wires side to side see if changes.
  16. Check that flwheel key is still good. Clean poles of stator, inside of flywheel, and lugs on outside of flywheel, set pick-up gap.
  17. Check it at both nubs on flywheel and make sure nubs are clean.
  18. Any possibility you welded the ball and rod before/during wreck?
  19. Air filter clean? To much oil on it? What plugs you running? Has it run this way since you got it going? Did the weather change a lot recently, hotter/more humid?
  20. I recently removed a boost bottle because of boot cracking and just plugged the holes, no tube. I have no problems with low end power, Banshees are known not to have any If you want low end get a 4 poke. List up all the mods, settings/jetting in carb. you might simply need to tune it better.
  21. That or bean oil
  22. Got another flywheel to try? Double check that all wire connections are clean, as well as grounds are bare metal.
  23. My thought was if it sat for long time that possibly reeds were stuck shut. As to starting fluid, I'm not talking pull starting it and just spraying the shit out of it, I talking as short of shot as possible in each carb or 1-2 sec on 2:1 air cleaner. By the time you put the can down and kick it , it will be totally vaporized. Choke crossover tube?
  24. linc don't work
