  1. Excess smoke out right side is probably bad crank seal sucking trans oil. Do leakdown test to confirm. Not real sure about left side issue. Could be bad reeds or leaking seal on left. What's left plug look like? Check that flywheel is tight and pick-up gap is good.
  2. How long has it been since it last ran? Have you tried a shot of start fluid?
  3. Bet it rides even better than ever
  4. I either read it on here or another site as to different oils reacting with each other. Try draining the tank and fill it with only castor and gas before you go messing with other shit. If it ran fine before why would you be needing to fuck with the tune? JMHO, your results may , and will vary
  5. Welcome to BHQ !! Obviously can't be a bad carb on that side So that only leaves the crank seal. Have to split the cases to replace them. Get a manual and get at it.
  6. Even with fresh gas my son's don't want to start good after sitting for couple weeks. My thought is that the "good shit" in the gas evaps out of the carb bowls. I wouldn't even think of using year old gas. Even with the gas can sitting in the garage in this heat I have to burb the pressure off the can because it looks like it's gonna pop.
  7. http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/rvs/2516385487.html Gonna depend if you are gonna hack it together or actually do a quality re-build. Also depends on what is really wrong with it. If it blew a crank that lunched a piston and cyl you'll never fix it and make a profit because the market is down so bad right now. If it only neede rings you could hack it for less than a hundred. Doesn't sound like it has many extras and without a pic it's hard to tell. Look around on E-gay for prices on piston kits and gaskets, it'll give you a good starting point for parts pricing. Welcome to BHQ and keep us posted
  8. if it was running good before, I would say 2-3 up on main, pilot should be ok, minor tweeking from there
  9. Obviously your set-up is not working !! also check that you have gaskets in slide caps.
  10. http://www.blasterforum.com/engine-mods-swaps-129/ Look around here, might find some relative info. Crazy fuckers put anything into a Blasturd.
  11. If your first cylinders weren't ported and these are, you will have to tune all over again.
  12. Have you tried swapping plug wires to see if it changes sides. If you're cleaning one carb might as well do both, one at a time as parts are different. Try trimming 1/4 inch off plug wire, re-install boot. On my son's I pulled flywheel with correct puller (only) cleaned rust off poles of stator and nubs on outside of flywheel to cure one sided miss. Let us know how it goes. BTW, welcome to BHQ !! Also get a Clymers repair manual or down load a manual !!
  13. Welcome to BHQ !! The only stupid question is one that is not asked. (usually) I had to ask questions after mud son flipped his into a mud hole. Come to find out it's a 4mil stroker, long rod. 2mil head spacer as opposed to cylinder spacers or stroker domes. Altough if you ask a question that might be found by using search funtion or manually looking and reading , you may get flamed a little.
  14. Congrats on the re-birth . Can't hardly have to much oil on assembly. Don't know what all you've done to it but at least do couple heat cycles and re-torque.
  15. Is a GYTR cdi worth the $$$ ?
  16. Musta been with Stage 10 Elkas
  17. Plates might just be stuck from sitting. Also go completely back through the adjustment procedure.
  18. I wouldn"t ground the orange wire, but, if you look at the wire diagram all switches are N O , and go to ground to kill engine.
  19. Welcome to BHQ !! Why do you think you need a rebuild? Low compression?
  20. How long was it sitting? Have you driven it around and it still does it?
  21. back of trans and vent from waterpump covr Tee together then run up to steering stem then run down a bit
  22. They aren't even splined, just press fit. They are welded to keep from twisting and going out of phase. Also keep from seperating.
  23. Start by cleaning carbs real good. Presuming they are stock, do them one at a time as they are different. Float bowl with "BB" on front goes on left (choke) carb. Angled"cutaway" of slide faces air cleaner.
  24. One member ordered the first one to be a guine pig and got an empty box, don't know if it ever got resolved. Second one look like glorified spring holders. Some times you're lucky to get what you pay for. Used set of stockers from someone reputable is the way to go, JMHO, your results may and will vary.
