  1. And stu I think your swingarm chainslider is on backwards...
  2. Exactly...RIDE. Ride until it hurts and then ride some more
  3. Crybabies. It's a "National" race right? Heh I wouldn't mind if they had a few more on this side of the Mississippi, or at least a Western division like they do SX...
  4. D34 runs a no-link but his top shock mount is relocated. One thing to consider about not using the linkage is that your rear shock really needs to have more than one spring rate (dual rate, triple rate, quad rate) because that's what the linkage does; it progressively increases the spring rate as the swingarm moves through it's range of motion...at least that's the way I understand it. I'm guessing that the stock upper rear shock mounting location doesn't place the shock upright enough to take advantage of a no-link setup, or at least where you're wanting longer suspension travel, in a drag application I'm sure it would work great and save some unneccessary weight...
  5. Yes an automotive tester is fine, get the best one you can afford, all it needs is 14mm spark plug threads, preferably a "long reach" so the threads match the spark plug, got mine at Sears for like $30. Make sure you hold the throttle wide open and don't stop kickin' until the needle stops moving...
  6. 666kid I'm still interested in the tank, gotta wait till after X-mas to see if I can afford it tho, got any pics?
  7. It could literally be a million things, from bad fuel to a twisted crank, but all ya can do is start into it; for the topend, check the compression. Depending on your elevation you should have around 140 psi on each cylinder. In general, less than 100psi or more than 10% difference between cylinders is time for a topend. If that checks out, make sure the air filter is clean, got fresh premix fuel, and check your jetting, it may be something simple so start there. Good luck.
  8. Stu I'm no shock expert but I think you DON'T want to use a regular bolt. The way I understand it, when you have a remote rezzy, the shock side (between the shock itself, and the rezzy, including the hose) is filled with the shock oil, then in the middle of the rezzy is a diapragm or bladder that contains the gas (nitrogen). Blocking off the rezzy will effectively eliminate the shock's ability to dampen the spring. If it was mine I'd replace the banjo bolt and call around to see who can service the shock soon...I'm guessing to bleed the air out you'd need to remove the spring and cycle the shock to get the air out, but not 100% sure. Good luck.
  9. Hmm Gilmer, TX is a 10-hour drive, I can handle that...I just hope it's not on the same weekend as the first NMDRC race in Alamogordo...
  10. 76hp nice...11hp dialing in the jetting, priceless
  11. Have a good one Screamin!!
  12. Damn, Buell has come a long way, those bikes look sick. BigRed I remember seeing an HD 1200cc sportster v-twin in a 250R frame once, it was built for ice racing. Like Otis said you can shove anything you want in a quad frame but no matter what it is it won't be easy...cool yes, and no doubt fun to ride but not easy. That particular motor would be one of the harder ones as well, with right-side belt drive you're looking at significant swingarm mods on top of motor mounting and routing the exhaust...
  13. Haha led that was priceless, some people just don't have a sense of humor lol!
  14. Moving the clip towards the top or blunt end of the needle is leaner. Not sure if it'll help but if it was mine, all you did was the port cleanup and it ran good before with the 360's...I'd go back to 360 mains and start with the needle at the stock (middle) clip position, and try adjusting it from there to see if it'll clean up. You also might start with the airscres 1.5 turns out and try to dial those in first. It just sounds from your description like the 330's are too lean, that needle and airscrew adjustment (maaaaybe smaller pilots but I doubt it) is all you really need. Good luck.
  15. Banchetta is right on as usual, I wouldn't worry about the needles until you dial in the mains, then you can try a different clip position and see if it helps or not...the only other adjustment you might make for the colder weather is the airscrews, but if she starts right up and pulls hard off idle, it's prolly fine.
  16. I had Napster when it was free, then Bearshare, then Kazaa Lite, now I'm usin' WinMX and no complaints, works great. Kazaa Lite worked ok but after I spent like 8 hours trying to download one goddamn song and EVERY copy had dialtones in the middle of the fucking thing (it was "Step Up" from Drowning Pool), I switched to WinMX and got it perfect the first time, and fast. Stclark does Ares support exe files too? If there was a limitation to WinMX, it's that you can only search for video, audio, and pix...
  17. Thanx guys, I wasn't after an ego boost heh, but if someone asked me what the top two were, well that list would be dead on.
