  1. That sucks man. Just guessing but you're prolly looking at: Crank $350 from TDR Pistons $120 Topend gasket set $25 Threebond/Yamabond $10 for the cases Bore cylinders $80 Case oil/antifreeze etc. $20 Used stock head $50 on fleabay So roughly $650-ish a bit more for freight. Yes bore both cylinders to the next oversize (hopefully that will be enough to eliminate the damage to the one side). Take this opportunity to have the crank welded, and mill the head for a little more compression. If ya got deep pockets you can go hog wild with a stroker crank, porting, mod the shift star, advance the timing, aftermarket head, etc. etc. etc. It's not a tough job, just make sure everything is clean and take your time, good luck.
  2. That's sick, it's almost cool enough for me to risk death & dismemberment again with a twist...almost.
  3. The shorty is just right for 2 fingers. I run the MSR Raptor and love it, the leverage you may lose can easily be made up by setting it to the "easy pull" notch. I haven't seen a matching brake lever, at least from MSR, but I'm sure somebody's got 'em, if you find one that fits a YZ it should bolt right up.
  4. I did pretty good this year, the company gave me a 40-hour check ($410 after taxes) as a Christmas bonus. I do all the shipping & receiving, as well as purchasing, so I got some good stuff from some vendors too, heh, a damn good ham from Southern Chain & Roller, some Austrian wine from Agru America, tons of chocolates & fudge so it's all good. I work at a small heavy construction company, maybe 25-30 employees, but I really can't complain, I like my job and it has great benefits. Not tryin' to brag but it's definitely one of the best jobs I've had. After 12 years here I've got a company truck (I don't pay for gas, insurance, or maintenence and drive it everywhere), wireless hi-speed internet (finally!), a 401k with profit sharing, decent uniforms (no laundry heh), company cell, sponsorship help to go to races, and a damn good computer to waste alot of my 10-hour days on...on any given day I can download and listen to any music I want, chat with girls, cruise the HQ, and scope out as much porn as I can stand...on slow days I can play through Generals or Dawn of War, when it gets busy I get the job done and don't hafta deal with alot of stress. Overall it's a pretty good deal. Here's hopin' the best for everyone for the New Year
  5. Sorry I missed it buddy, but happy birthday anyway Rod!!
  6. Happy birthday guys, I'm sure it does suck to have a b-day this close to Christmas but have a good one
  7. Also Holyman for bearings (IHR)...
  8. LMAO!! Go tithead!
  9. Sorry to hear that dale, that really sucks.
  10. Hell yeah post 'em up when you get a chance!!
  11. Oh yeah? Well I put 60 psi in the front tires and took every other bolt out of the rear sprocket, now MY shit rips!!!
  12. I'm interested, did you get the email?
  13. Hmm I'll hafta break out the tape measure and see. 45" sounds crazy but I don't doubt it from the GNCC race footage I've seen. How far along are ya with the R Meat?
  14. Damn that's narrow, I think I was 52" with my old wheels. Wish you could make it Meat but I know that's one hell of a long haul for you...
  15. Nice pics Dmcbanshee, looks like a blast! Here's a shot of mine with a cheap Rand's swaybar:
  16. How much for the fronts Shaggy? If sick boy doesn't want 'em I might...
  17. Yeah I know how it goes, shit always seems to happen so I never know for sure until I actually hit the road, heh. But for now at least I'm gonna shoot for Big Spring and Gilmer. Was gonna ask you if you're running Open A or B this year too. Haven't actually measured my width with the new wheels (flipped stock on rear, +2 axle, stock offset fronts on +2 a-arms), but she did fit between the wheelwells of my half ton Chevy so right between 49" and 50" wide.
  18. I don't know much about insurance (a scam) or lawyers (bigger scam) but dude that just sounds way too fucked up. I'd raise some hell with your insurance company, I mean that's the whole reason you pay that shit (other than being a requirement in most states, like NM), so if something like that happens ya don't get taken to the cleaners...
  19. Will do sredish, looks like atvccs has the first West race on Feb 6th, you're going to that one right? That one's only a 4-hour drive for me, I'm definitely gonna try to make that one. Hell if you're gonna be at Gilmer you might as well race, what's one little race, heh call it practice...
  20. Allright Josh! Let's go to TX and break it in, think I'm getting an IMS tank from NAX on here soon, next thing I need is some rings if you can still cut some, just hafta see if I have any $$$ after Christmas...
  21. If you're just looking for pilots and mains, pretty much any bike shop will have the small hex Mikuni mains, the pilots are Banshee-specific so ya hafta get them from a Yamaha dealer or a few places that know what they are (like C&D Racing, Grand River, etc.). You can get just needles (if you really need them) from Vito's, I think Toomey sells them in a kit with mains that you may or may not even need.
  22. Josh just get to Roswell, I'll take care of the rest (well you're gonna hafta cough up the entry fees heh). I know I can get a 1-ton from work with an aux tank, enough diesel to get us there and back, and an enclosed trailer (not sure if it's 12' or 14' but will fit at least 2 maybe 3 quads). My dad lives in Kennedale (Dallas), he can put us up for the night(s). Only prob is the 1-ton is a regular cab, might use one of the 4-door crew cabs but not certain if it'll be available, I'll ask about it tho. I'll give Chris a call tonight or tomorrow and get you on the line. Heard anything about the banquet or a firm date on the Tarantula? Got your motor in yet?
  23. Ok let's see, $10 at the gate, $40 to enter, I can handle that. Says you hafta run the same class you do at local events, so I guess that means I'd run Open B at Gilmer. Don't see anything on gnccracing.com about having to have spark arrestors, just silencers under 104db, so I should be safe with what I got. Looks like the first race in NM is gonna be February 19/20, the weekend after Gilmer...so tentatively yeah I'm gonna try to make it, unless they change it...
  24. Sent you a PM on the tank NAX...
  25. Sent ya an email...
